CHAPTER 72

Soon, Donna brings Andrew to a quiet place away from the park where the others are gathering. Andrew feels confused and skeptical about this woman but he did not yet voice out his thoughts. He decided to wait for what does she need from him. Soon, Donna turns around and gives him a smile.
"I think this distance is enough for us to talk. No one can hear us from here." Andrew heard her say.
"Huh?"
In an instant, Donna's expression changed. Although she is still smiling, but it is no longer polite and kind. Instead, she is looking at him with a confident smile on her lips.
"So Andrew, what were you planning to do now?" Donna asked.
"...What?" Andrew asked her late.
"Oh, please. Stop pretending, Andrew. I know that you can also remember everything."
"..."
Andrew gives Donna a weird look. Keith had already warned him about the woman yesterday. Keith told him that Donna looked suspicious and he didn't want her approaching Rhianne a lot. He also shared with him the story of how Donna tried to use Rhianne to get whatever she wanted.
But unfortunately for her, Rhianne is someone who doesn't like spending too much money. That young lady is a person who knows the value of money and will never spend it on something she finds unimportant. She is the person who would rather choose a cheap snack over an expensive bag. She is the kind of woman who treasures love and friendship rather than her luxurious life.
Yet the woman in front of him...
"So is this your new strategy? I should have known, right? After all, we were together for a long time."
"..."
Andrew is still not saying anything. Or rather, he cannot say anything in this situation. He can only look at Donna with furrowed eyebrows and think what is she talking about right now?
"Andrew? Why aren't you replying to me?"
He tries to make sense of this situation. Did he already meet her? Not at all. Did he see her in the past? Andrew swears this is their first interaction.
But at the same time, this woman named Donna confuses him a lot. Why is she talking to him as if they had already met? She even acts as if they knew each other a long time ago. Isn't that weird?
He needs to end this crazy fiasco now. Andrew takes a deep breath first to calm himself. He just needs to tell her calmly that Donna had probably mistaken him for somebody else although she already mentioned his name.
"Miss, I think there is a misunderstanding here. I didn't know you and I have no idea what are you talking about."
"...What?"
"Miss Donna, this is the first time we have had a conversation. Our first meeting was when I visited Rhianne and Keith the other day and you happened to be there."
"That's impossible!"
Andrew almost jumps in surprise because of her sudden burst. She looks at him with wide eyes and a doubtful expression. Before Andrew can tell her more, Donna moves closer to him and holds his arms.
"You are just lying, right? This must be your plan all along. You just want me to get out of your life this time."
"Miss, calm down—"
"How can I do it when you are trying to make me a fool once again?!"
Andrew wants to get angry at her but he controls himself. He doesn't want to get mad for things that don't make sense just like his situation right now. And besides, Andrew refused to lose his temper over a woman who kept spouting nonsense in front of him.
He is now regretting his decision to be alone with this woman. Andrew should have listened to Keith's rants about this woman the other day and avoided any contact with her. Andrew suddenly thought that he should listen to his moody friend sometimes.
While Andrew is not saying anything, Donna is currently studying his expressions. He doesn't look like lying to her at all. In fact, Andrew looks genuinely confused about the things she had said to him just now and it is making Donna feel anxious.
"This is not right!' How did this happen?!" Andrew heard Donna whisper to herself.
Still, he doesn't want to stay with her anymore seeing that their conversation is not making sense to him at all.
"Miss, please let go of my arms," Andrew said while pulling himself away from her grip.
"Then... Then what about Rhianne?! What about your plans against him?!" Donna fiercely asked and ignored what Andrew had said just now.
"What about her?"
"You are just using her, right?! You only want to get her money! I know that you never treated Rhianne with kindness for real—Ah!"
Andrew doesn't want to listen to her blabbing such nonsense. So without a word, he pulls himself away with force and Donna loses her balance because she is still holding his arms. Because it happened all of a sudden, she failed to get her balance and fell onto the sandy ground. If not for the pants she's wearing today, Donna's legs will probably get small wounds on her skin.
"Why did you—"
"You are talking as if you know me so well," Andrew said while looking at Donna with a frown.
"Of course! I know that you're—"
"Enough! Stop speaking nonsense to me."
"Andrew, I—"
"And stop talking as if I'm just using Rhianne for my personal interest. I will never do that. She is my friend and I will not tolerate anyone talking to her like that."
Donna did not say anything. But her eyes are glued on Andrew who is genuinely annoyed because of what she had said to her just now. She already saw it earlier but Donna refused to believe this was happening to her.
"This will be my warning, Miss Donna. If you try to approach me again to talk about this, then I am not going to be kind to you. Not only that but never think of doing something bad to Rhianne. If you really do, I am not the only one who will look for you but also Keith Lancester. You should be aware now that Keith can do anything for the woman she loves, right?"
After leaving those words, Andrew turns around to leave Donna behind.
"This is not right! Everything is not right!"
"Miss Donna, I suggest that you should wake up now. I don't have any idea what are you thinking at all but this is the reality."
Leaving those words, Andrew started walking away and did not try to look in Donna's direction again. Donna tries to follow her but she hesitates to do it all of a sudden. In the end, she only watches Andrew's back until he disappears from her sight.
When Andrew returns to the park, he sees Rhianne walking towards him. Candice and Keith are following her from behind. Looking at them, it seems like they are now ready to go.
"Where did you go, Andrew? We thought you already left without saying anything to us." Rhianne said.
"...Oh. I just answered my auntie's call and looked for a place with a good signal." Andrew replied as an excuse.
"I see. We have to go now. I made a reservation for us in a restaurant. As promised, I will treat you all to a dinner!"
"Hmm."
"Let's go!"
Rhianne must be really excited and happy today since she did not notice the small changes in Andrew's expression. It was Keith who noticed his abnormalities. While Rhianne and Candice are talking happily in front of them, Keith and Andrew are talking in hushed voices behind them.
"I think that woman named Donna is not a good influence for Rhianne. You should keep an eye on her." Andrew told his friend.
"I know," Keith replied. "And I also think Rhianne is aware of her personality too."
"Then that's good to hear. It is better for us to be careful."
Keith did not say anything. But his silence is enough for Andrew to know that he agrees with him too.
