Epilogue
“I see.” Sophie, the seer that I met a long time ago when I went to Hazel, laughs. “Now do you believe the prophecy?”
“He is rich, I have to tell you that.” I joked and laughed along with her. Sophie has become a close advisor to King Fred. She was the last seer in the lands and is now being taken care of. “So, is my guess right?” I asked hopefully.
Sophie gave me a look as she nodded. “Congratulations, Queen Rosalie. You are - ” She was cut off when Custard lets out a yelp.
‘Master master! Arcielia keeps on pulling on my tail.’ Custard whimpered as he sat on the floor with his head and ears down.
“Sorry, Custard.” I said before I fixed a look at a young girl. Her hair is as dark as her father while her eyes are as blue as mine. She’s an elf just like Ace.“Arcielia, be gentle to Custard.”
The little elf girl pouted and started to play with the hem of her pink dress instead. “Sorry, mom.” Then she looked at Custard. “I’m sorry.”
‘For a grown wolf, you sure are annoying.’ Viex rolled his eyes as he nestles on my lap. His tails running back and forth on my belly.
Custard has grown up into a regular-sized wolf now. Which means that he can no longer jump into my arms just like he used to. It was only Viex who remained the same size.
“Is Arcie showing any signs of her gift?” Sophie asked as we both watch my daughter burying her face in Custard’s fur.
Arcie is an elf with two royal blood. One is the blood of a tamer and the other, the more dominant one, of an elf. So to be honest, we don’t know what kind of gift she will manifest.
I shook my head at Sophie’s question. “She’s still 4. We still have a year to wait.”
The door opened and Fred came inside with Liliana, Dan, and their son Luis. “Hello, uncle Fred, uncle Dan, Auntie Lily, and Luis.” Arcielia greeted and grabbed Luis’s hand. “Come on, let’s go and play!”
Luis is at least a year older than my daughter, but I could already tell that he got his father’s personality. And it was not in a good way. “What? You want to play house again? Who’s our child?” I could feel my brow twitching at the question.
I swear the only reason why I did not choke Luis at that moment was that I am friends with his mother.
I waved at Dan and Lily in greeting as I kept a watchful eye on the kids.
“Custard!” Arcielia says and hugged my familiar. Custard looked at me for help, but I averted my gaze immediately and turned to see Fred walking towards us.
“Where’s Ace?” I asked him.
“He’s with King Nathaniel. They’re currently discussing permanently opening the portal to this realm and to the human realm to avoid time leaps. They’re also consulting your sister and Chace about it.” He says.
“That’s so great!” I beamed. “Now my parents can come and go as they wish! But isn’t there a risk? I mean, other people might stumble upon the portal, both in this realm and the other.”
Fred nodded. “There are risks, that’s why they called for me to ask if I know of a way to limit those who can pass through. Technically, the main point of opening the portal is to synchronize the time of the two worlds. We don’t want Princess Stella to come here and miss her class when she goes back.” Fred chuckled. “Same thing about your parents. Ace is concerned about how it would affect them. Weird to see KING Ace starting to care about aside from himself.”
“I know.” I agreed. “As for Nate, I have this feeling that he’s only helping out for another reason.”
Fred raised a brow at me. “Your best friend still rejected him?”
“Um...kind of. Jen says that she’s cautious about flirty men. Especially when he’s a king who has a lot of adoring fans.”
Just before my wedding with Ace, I already told Jen about this world so I could invite her as my bride’s maid.
And it was also on our wedding day when Jen and Nate first met. Jen was being escorted by Sir Terrence from the human realm and to this realm. Nate didn’t know about it and thought that she was trespassing and almost placed her in the dungeon. Thankfully, sir Terrence cleared everything.
No idea how Nate started liking her. All I know is how they met.
Fred nodded with a wince as if he felt sorry for our vampire friend as well. “He just has to apologize instead of flirting with her.”
“Agreed.”
The Wizard king then glanced at Sophie. “Are you girls done or do you want some more time together?”
Sophie looks away and blushes as their eyes met. “I-I guess so. I’m done confirming things with her highness.”
My eyes darted between the two of them as a teasing grin spread all over my face. “Hey, Sophie. I’m curious. You were able to give me a prophecy about who my future partner is. I’m sure that you have a vision for yourself, right?”
I saw Sophie's eyes going wide before she cast me a dirty look. I guess I was right on the mark!
Fred and Sophie finally left, leaving me with Dan, Liliana, my spirits, and the kids. “Hey, Dan. How’s Ren doing?”
Dan and Liliana were sitting together on the couch in the playroom. Dan leaned back and lets out a frustrating groan. “My brother FINALLY managed to imprint on another girl, but he FUCKING LOST HER!”
I blinked. “Lost? What do you mean by...lost?”
Liliana smiled excitedly as she started to lean forward. “Rose, we found a civilization of shifters. The girl was pretending to be a wolf at first, but Ren saw her transforming into a different species when he tried to approach her.”
I was now gapping in shock. “When...when did this happen!?”
A shifter?! Last we heard of it, Ferius destroyed it after Gija.
“Just last week.” Dan answered me. “I swear, at this rate, I don’t even know if my brother is ever going to get married.”
“But guys….shiftters!? This is news!” I exclaimed.
“Nah. Not really.” Dan shrugged. “I mean, if the tamers survived then who says the others can’t? Just look at this place. All swarming people being accompanied by their contracted spirits.” Then, Dan leaned in with a teasing grin on his face. “Which now begs the question, how red was your face when you brought them back their magic while yelling ‘nachos’?”
I gave him a deadpanned look. “Dan, I really want to hit you right now, but I won’t since…” I trailed off as I don’t want to say anything at the moment.
I want my husband to know about this first.
But Liliana was able to tell right away as she screamed in delight and voluntarily hit her husband at the back of the head for my sake. “Cong-”
I placed a hand on my lips to silence her and begged her with my eyes not to tell Dan. We all know already how much of a loudmouth he is. Thankfully, she understood.
On the other hand, Dan looked confused as his head darted back and forth between the two of us.
But before he could ask, the door opened once again. Stella, King Nate, and my husband entered the room.
“Daddy!” Arcielia ran towards Ace and laughs as he picked her up. While they were busy, Nate came to my side with a hopeful grin on his face. “Hi, Rose. You look lovely today.”
“Jen didn’t send a letter today, Nate. And even if she did, I won’t let you read, smell, or even take a small piece of the letter.” I told him automatically, which made him pout.
My sister came to my side and kissed my cheek. “How’s high school?” I asked her.
Stella shrugged. “Boring. Waynard High is very weird. Did you know that aunt Elizabeth bought that school years ago? Like the exact moment that I got a scholarship. It was HER!”
I almost fell off of my seat before my eyes darted to Nate. “Did you know about this?”
Nate shook his head. “No. The moment that we were able to open the portal, your aunt told us that she wanted to leave this realm as everything just reminded her of Luke.” He says. At the mention of our uncle, Stella and I fell silent.
The only thing that hurts more than losing your memory is not being there when your loved one passed away. Especially when they sacrificed themselves just to save you. It still hurts and I don’t think that the pain will ever pass.
I made a mental note to come to the human realm and see my aunt. It has been a while since we’ve seen her.
Plus, it wasn’t just our aunt who disappeared within those years.
I looked at Stella. “How’s yours and Chace’s mission to search for Kellar?”
Stella’s face fell but she forced up a smile as she looked at me. “Amy, that’s a story for another time. Right now, I think you should tell him.” She says. “Please? Because I am dying about the details!” She lets out a groan and starts to lean back to check on her niece. “Um, Amy? They’re starting again.” She says while pointing to Ace glowering at Luis.
“What did you say, you little brat?”
“I said to put my wife down,” Luis told him while placing his hands to his hips.
I whistled for Custard and he immediately got on his feet. He ran and grabbed Luis while I headed for the balcony and opened the door.
“RENEVIER! YOUR NEPHEW IS AT IT AGAIN!” I screamed out into the open where Ren constantly waits during these types of emergencies.
“Already?” I saw Ren just stopping at the balcony rail to fetch his nephew as soon as Custard brought Luis to him. “Geez, buddy. What would you do if I’m not here?” Ren told him.
“But she’s going to be my wife someday, isn’t she?” Luis asked.
“HE SAID IT AGAIN! GIVE THAT PUNK BACK RIGHT NOW!” Ace screamed in the background while I grind my teeth while looking at Luis.
“King Ren? Please take him away before I strangle him myself.” I smiled sweetly at him.
Ren laughs and flinched when we started hearing pounding footsteps headed our way. “That’s my cue. See ya, Queen.” He winked before running off with Luis in his arms.
At that moment, Ace was finally free from Nate and Dan, who were trying to hold him back. As he got to the balcony, he started to look around and frowned. “That other mutt was here, wasn’t he?” He scoffed. “No worries. I’ll get that little kid next time.”
“Come on, man. Have mercy on my kid!” Dan pleaded.
Ace stopped struggling as he looked at Dan with a sadistic smile. “You know, you’re absolutely right. I should start with you first for being a crappy role model for your child!”
“Ace, don’t!” I warned him before things get out of hand. I grabbed ahold of Ace’s arm and gestured for Lily and Stella to get the others out. “I need to speak with him alone.” I told them.
The others immediately ushered out of the balcony. Even Custard and Viex were more than happy to leave and they did not even look back as Stella closed the door behind them.
I turned to face Ace. He leaned against the balcony and lets out a grunt as he crossed his arms over his chest.
“We need to find a way to eliminate Luis.” He says.
I took in a deep breath as I prepared myself for what I was about to tell him. Alright, this is it. I’ll tell him.
With a hand on my belly, I walked up to him. “Ace, listen-”
“We should send his father to the dungeon!” Ace muttered, still in deep thought. “No, his brother would bail him out.”
“Ace-”
“I wonder if there’s a way for us to scare Luis to the point that he won’t try to marry our daughter? Or maybe, when everything is settled, we can enroll Arcielia in those schools in the human realm.”
“I-...actually, Ace, that is a good idea.” I just realized this but Arcielia is born of a new generation where the two worlds would soon be connected. And I think it would be good for her to experience the human realm as well.
But that’s not the point!
“Ace-” I started again.
“Or maybe-” I let out a groan in frustration as I held his face between his hands and forced him to face me.
“HEY! LISTEN TO ME.” I yelled. That finally caught Ace’s attention as he watched me fearfully as I glared at him. “I keep trying to tell you that I’M PREGNANT but you keep cutting me off!”
As I was looking at Ace, I got worried because it looked like he wasn’t breathing that I lightly slapped him repeatedly on the cheek. “Um, hello?”
Ace suddenly grabbed my hands and gave me a suspicious look. “Is that why you called for the seer? To confirm?”
I smirked. “Actually, Stella brought me a pregnancy kit. The only reason I called for Sophie is to know about the race and gender of the child.”
“And?” I waited for a few minutes to kill Ace of the anticipation. It worked as he now looked pretty impatient as he grabbed my shoulders lightly. “What is it? What about our child?”
I let out a laughed. “Congrats, dad. You’re going to have a tamer son in the near future.”
Ace turned around, walked away, ran a hand through his hair, and came back to me with a huge grin on his face. Then he cupped my face and leaned in for a kiss.
“I love you, Rosalie Amber Feradin. My Queen and my wife.” He says and pulled me into a hug, but not so tightly as he was trying to avoid my belly.
I buried my face in his neck as I could hear the rapid beating of his heartbeat. “I love you too, Ace Feradin. My one and only king and husband.” I whispered to him.
“Rose?” He says after a few seconds.
“Yeah?”
“What are our plans about a third baby?”
I looked up at him with a raised brow. “I haven’t given birth yet and you want a third one already?!”
He chuckled. “So? We’re still young and capable.” He says.
Just then, our daughter suddenly burst out of the door and is being accompanied by Custard and Viex. Viex jumped to Ace’s shoulder while Custard rubbed his head to my side.
“Mom, dad! Can we go to Tordis next week? I want to visit grandma.” She says as Ace picked her up.
Ace and I exchanged a glance before looking at our daughter. “Of course, sweetheart.” I said and kissed her on the forehead. My other hand went to my belly as I watched Ace, Arcie, Custard, and Viex together. And I could not help but feel happy and contended at the little family that we created.
Yes. Our small and growing little family.
