Chapter 37 the Golden Sword God

It was very late at night. The atmosphere in Jatiwangi Village is quietquiet. Some of the torches still seemed to burn brightly in several places. The yard of the village head's house looked quiet. There was no one to be seen, except on the front porch. It was seen that Ki Rangkuti sat pensively accompanied by the God of the Golden Sword and Shadow of Angels. Two friends who have not left the place even though the celebration of the inauguration of the Jabwangi Padepokan had ended this afternoon.
Meanwhile, the other invited guests had rested in their respective rooms that had been provided by Ki Rangkuti. Since this afternoon, the three of them had been sitting on the front verandah without saying a word. Ki Rangkuti seemed to be thinking about something heavy.
"I see you are no longer happy since Mahesa Bitch's death, Rangkuti. Do you think about Buto Dungkul's words?" The Golden Sword God opened a low voice.
Ki Rangkuti took a deep breath. Her eyes glanced at her two best friends in turn.
"You have a pact with that wild man, Rangkuti?" asked the Shadow Angel.
"Yes," sighed Ki Rangkuti heavily. "I have to face him in the next three months if Mahesa Bitch dies."
"A desperate deal!" snorted the Golden Sword God.
"I did it because I had to, I just wanted to save Mahesa Bitch's life that time."

"Shouldyou just let Mahesa Bitch die right then and there. After all, in the end he had to die at the hands of Buto Dungkul!" Angel's shadow seemed to regret Ki Rangkuti's attitude.
"I don't regret the agreement," said Ki Rangkuti."Then why are you so gloomy?" the Sword God demanded
Gold.
"I thought about Buto Dungkul's request." "What request?"
"Buto Dungkul won't kill me in the fight later. He just wants to beat me."
"If that's all, why do you think about it?"
"Not only that, God of the Golden Sword. What is weighing on my mind now, Buto Dungkul asked my daughter if I lost."
The Golden Sword God and Angel's Shadow were shocked to death. It felt like they heard a very powerful explosion of lightning. It was not unexpected at all that Ki Rangkuti had a very heavy agreement.
They all know how great Buto Dugkul is. It was difficult for Ki Rangkuti to beat the wild man. The three of them alone might not be able to match even though simultaneously attacking. What a crazy deal!
"Sekar Telasih already know about the agreement?" asked the Golden Sword God
"Not yet," said Ki Rangkuti wearily.
"I can't imagine, what if your daughter finds out about the agreement? You are really reckless, Rangkuti," Shadow Angel muttered regretfully.

Ki Rangkuti could not blame his best friend's words. Admittedly, his actions were reckless. Even though there was no benefit at all helping Mahesa Bitch at that time. He also didn't know before. Maybe it's because of his warrior spirit that he is moved to help anyone in need, even though he has to sacrifice what he loves.
"Now, what are you going to do? Three full moons isn't a long time to prepare yourself, Rangkuti," said the Golden Sword God.
"I can't think about it yet," said Ki Rangkuti. "You'd better perfect your skills.
I also won't stand idly by and watch your destruction," said the Angelic Shadow.
'Thank You. You are true friends," said Ki Rangkuti touched.
"Ah, never mind. I also don't know if my sword can tear its skin," said the Golden Sword God.
Ki Rangkuti stared at his two best friends intentlyemotion. He could no longer say anything. The willingness of his two friends to help solve the difficulties he was facing made his tongue seem to go numb. Perhaps this is the meaning of true friendship. It feels good, it's hard to bear. Even though the life at stake doesn't make friendship cracked.
The Golden Sword God patted Ki Rang-kuti on the shoulder, then stood up. His feet swung towards the entrance of the mansion. It wasn't long before Shadow Angel caught up to rest. Now on the front porch, only Ki Rangkuti sat pensively alone. What a serious problem he is facing right now.

How is it possible to hand over Sekar Telasih to wild humans who always live in the middle of the wilderness?
When Ki Rangkuti was pensive, suddenly a glimmerthe light rushed towards him, and hit the center of the white marble table in front of him. The old man who still looked dashing was shocked and jumped to his feet. A beam of light that rushed swiftly turned out to be a small arrow made of bright red metal. Ki Rangkuti rolled his eyes around through the darkness of the night.
'No one in sight out there. Onlydarkness was all around him. No strange sounds were heard, except for the wind and the rustling of leaves. Ki Rangkuti turned his gaze to the small arrow stuck in it.
"Hmmm ...," his long muttered lips as soon as I sawthere is a roll of palm leaves tied to the shaft of the arrow.
Rolls of palm leaves tied with a blood-red ribbon. Ki Rangkuti released him from the arrowThat. His eyes widened when he read the writing written on the palm leaves.
"Demon!" he growled while squeezing the palm leaves until they were crushed
Ki Rangkuti immediately jumped out of the verandah. Twice spun in the air, then sweetly stepped on the ground. He stood on his knees with wild eyes circling around him. No one was seen. The surroundings remained quiet, even the animals of the night seemed reluctant to make a sound.

It took quite a while for Ki Rangkuti to stand on the ruins of the stage which was right in the middle of his yard. He didn't seem to care about the wind blowingthe cold night pricks the skin. His heart was hot and furious when he received a challenge letter from a stranger. Ki Rangkuti's anger peaked.
The sentences written are not many, but enough to makeThe Jatiwangi village chief's heart was hot. In his mind, the words were still warm, "Hand over Sekar Telasih, you will be free from the crazy deal. No one can beat Buto Dungkul besides me." This is tantamount to a challenge that underestimates Ki Rangkuti's abilities. No wonder the Head of Jatiwangi Village is so hot. Never before had he accepted a challenge so disparaging and insulting.
"Get out of here. Let me crush your skull!" furiousKi Rangkuti was a bit harsh.
Stay quiet, no one answered. Only the rustle of the wind carried Ki Rangkuti's voice spreading in all directions.
"If you're a manly man, show your nose!" shouted Ki Rangkuti again.
Still no answer, the situation remains quiet. Ki Rangkuti snorted in annoyance. With stomping feet, he stepped back onto the porch of his house which was lit by four lamps in each corner. Annoyed, he slumped into a chair. His eyes immediately stared at the red arrow that was still stuck in the middle of the table.
The white marble upon which the table was laid was harder than stonenormal. And the arrowheads were able to penetrate inside without the slightest damage to the other parts. From there only

it can already be measured the height of the knowledge of the internal energy possessed by the thrower.
"Who is that little dart thrower? And what does he mean by asking my daughter? How does he know I have a problem with Buto Dungkul?" Ki Rangkuti wondered himself.
***
The excitement was back this morning. Ten students of Padepokan Jatiwangi whose intelligence was only as young as corn were found dead with small red arrows stuck in their chests. The ten people who died last night were assigned to guard the hermitage.
Ki Rangkuti's molarschattering against the rapids. His eyes turned red looking at the ten corpses of his disciples. One by one the faces of his students and the four remaining teachers in the hermitage, he looked at. Heavy sighs sounded loud.
"Who saw first?" asked Ki Rangkuti.
His voice was deep and heavy.
"Me, Ki," said one of the four teachers.
"Guide," muttered Ki Rangkuti. "You're the first to see it yourself?"
"Together with ten students," said Pandu."Tell me what happened?"
"I don't know what actually happened. I and ten other people found them dead," Pandu explained.

"Any of you heard anything last night?"
Everyone shook their heads. "Damn!" growled Ki Rangkuti angrily.
Ki Rangkuti couldn't blame them all. The person who did this must have a very high level of intelligence, so that no one could know or hear anything. Is it possible that this person has a magic spell, so that they all fall into a deep sleep like the dead?
"Bury them right now," ordered Ki Rangkuti.
All students of Padepokan Jatiwangi bowed respectfully. Ki Rangkuti turned and walked out of the courtyard of the hermitage which was not far from his residence. His steps were wide and fast out of the hermitage walls
Ki Rangkuti looked at several residents who had gathered to witness the death of the ten students at Padepokan Jatiwangi. The old man continued walking toward his residence. He only stopped when he saw the Golden Sword God and Angelic Shadow standing in front of his porch. The two friends approached.
"I heard that ten of your students died.Is that true?” asked the Golden Sword God
"Yes, that's right. Last night," replied Ki Rangkuti
"Impossible! We barely got off the porch before morning. And you look like you haven't slept all night. How could that be?" The Shadow Angel shook his head half in disbelief.

"I don't know myself. What disaster will befall my village?" Ki Rangkuti complained.
The three of them fell silent. Ki Rangkuti stepped towardsto the veranda. The Golden Sword God and Angel's Shadow followed closely behind. They sat back down on the verandah at the marble table with a hole in the middle. The Golden Sword God fingered the hole in the middle of the table.
"He threw this last night," said Ki Rangkuti while taking out a small red arrow lying on the table.
"Great..." The Golden Sword God muttered shaking his head.
"When did this happen?" asked the Shadow Angel.'Not long after you came in'
The Golden Sword God chuckled in admiration.
"I think there are people who are not happy with the establishment of Padepokan Jatiwangi," Shadow Angel guessed.
"This kind of incident always happens in silat schoolsnewly established. This is one of the tests for Padepokan Jatiwangi," continued the Golden Sword God.
Ki Rangkuti just smiled faintly. Allegations issued by his two best friends were only heard. In his mind raging problems overlapping each other. All of these allegations would have some truth if the person throwing the little red arrows had not accompanied a letter of contempt. The sound of the letter made Ki Rangkuti have other thoughts.

That person didn't just want to take away Sekar Telasih. But they also want to destroy the Jatiwangi Padepokan which is as old as a corn. Whoever the person is, it is clear that he has high intelligence. He can act without anyone knowing! Meanwhile last night, no less than eleven powerful figures of the martial arts jungle stayed at the village head's house. None of them knew about it.
***
One by one the invitees left Jatiwangi Village that very day. Only the Golden Sword God and the Shadow Angel remained. As friends, they are determined to help the difficulties that Ki Rangkuti is currently facing. For them life is not important. True friendship is the most important in this life.
In his youth, Ki Rangkuti was a warrior who always criss-crossed the jungle of martial arts. No wonder he has many enemies, or people who are unhappy and hold grudges against him. Ki Rangkuti and his two best friends realized this.
In his old age, Ki Rangkti chose to stay in the village of his birth. Especially after having a wife and children. His determination to leave a life of violence actually carried on for many years. But now the Head of Jatiwangi Village inevitably has to face and plunge back into his old life. A life that is always covered in blood and death. Whoosh!
"Watch out...!" suddenly the Golden Sword God shouted.

A glimmer of red light suddenly flashed rapidly to directionKi Rangkuti. Three people who were standing in the middle of the wide yard simultaneously jumped to save themselves. Ki Rangkuti, who was the target of the red light, bounced around in the air twice. The red light passed around Ki Rangkuti's body.
Just now the old man who still looked dashing had stepped on the ground, when a red light flashed threatening him again. As fast as lightning Ki Rangkuti moved his hand, and Tap!
He was so agile that he caught the flash of red light.Ki Rangkuti stood tall in the middle of his yard. Meanwhile the Golden Sword God was a little further to the left. The Angel's Shadow was about three spears away on the right. Ki Rangkuti saw the grip of his hand that caught the red light earlier.
"Red arrows..." he hissed as soon as he saw a small blood-red arrow in his palm.
The red arrow was wrapped in a palm leaftied with red ribbon. Ki Rangkuti immediately let go of the red ribbon that tied the palm leaves. While his two best friends had approached and stood on the left and right.
"Rangkui, I'll wait for you at the Corpse Flower Valley right at midnight," muttered the God of the Golden Sword who also read the inscription on a palm leaf.
"You know that weapon?" asked the Shadow Angel.
Ki Rangkuti did not immediately answer. Since the first time he got this small red dart weapon, his brain has always been spinning to remember. Maybe he did

clash with people who used to use this weapon. But I don't think I've ever been familiar with this weaponpreviously.
"A warrior's life is always surrounded by enemies. It could be the disciple of one of your enemies," said the Golden Sword God.
"Perhaps, I've never seen this type of weapon before," said Ki Rangkuti half-muttering.
"What now? Will you meet the challenge?"the Golden Sword God asked again.
"What about Buto Dungkul?" Angel's Shadowas if reminded.
"That's a later business," said Ki Rangkuti.
The Golden Sword God and the Shadow Angel looked at each other. They both shrugged. The problems Ki Rangkuti is currently facing are not easy. One problem has not been resolved, another problem has come.
"We will accompany you tonight," said the Golden Sword God. 'Thank you.'
