Someone's POV
Finally...
Since the incident happened Piper has not been able to speak again. He seemed out of place.
Always confined to the bedroom and sulking. Letty once again came across it laughing to herself while talking about Cade's picture, or maybe even a picture of her real parents.
Letty is currently carrying a tray for Piper to have lunch with. When he opened the door, he held the scissors and cut his own hair.
Piper's long hair was messy. Some days he doesn't even take a bath because he loses his mind every time he is invited to clean his body. Her eyes were deep and dark underneath. He had almost no cheeks and his arms were thin and full of wounds. How he sometimes scratches himself when he sees Donya Leonora.
"Piper! Don't do that! Your hair is still ugly!" Letty quickly grabbed the scissors as she lowered the tray to its side table.
"I just want Cade to see me beautiful. Then he said short hair is something for me. Look at him laughing! Mama and Papa too!" there was no one in Piper's eyes but the three dolls next to her.
Letty didn't know how to help the friend. She hadn't gotten used to Piper being like this for months. Tragedy followed in Piper’s life.
She hugged her friend as she could not hold back her own tears. He kissed her forehead hard.
She let go of the hug. "Everything will be fine too, Piper. Trust me. Everything will be back to normal", he looked straight into his friend's eyes as if he had a mask on his face.
"What are you, Letty !? Why are you crying !? I'll be with them in a moment! Look at that! They're smiling at me!" Piper played with the dolls. She dances it while singing softly.
"Piper, heck! Let them go. You're not going with them, Piper. If Cade was here he wouldn't let you be sad and you think Mama Prescilla as well as your Papa Rafaelo want you to be like that?"
He tightened the grip on both its arms as he could not contain the emotion. He was hurt by what was happening. The few times they went back to the doctor he said it was sober because he knew himself. But Piper didn't seem to want to help herself.
Bend it. In less than a few minutes, her tears dripped down her pillow. Letty hugged her and she also cried while comforting her friend.
In the other room was Donya Leonora. He has been called several times in connection with his raw son’s career.
"What are you !? My son isn't crazy! He's just healing!" he growled at one of the former take on Piper as a model of a clothing brand.
The news spread as fast as what had happened to her son. It was a blind item a few more times and it seemed to make more fun of what happened.
How could not everyone know that because Piper canceled her final film and her other projects because she lost interest in things.
"My son is coming back!" he then dropped the call.
"I'm sorry, Engr. Vitale. I'm under too much pressure right now. Where are we?"
Even though Don Emilio died, Donya Leonora was still really smart. He immediately used money and power what happened to his wife. That he framed up Apong so while life sentence the imprisonment here.
The election is only a few months away so here he is and talking to some Engineers with Vitale the father of Arrow. He plans to build a health center in their town. The old one was hit by a strong storm and the space was still small.
Donya still feels happy as if nothing happened.
"I told you my dear wife. I can handle it! In the next election I will be the governor" he smiled as he poured the wine into his wine glass.
She still wore a black blouse even a few months ago when her husband died. She is often interviewed by the media so Donya even cries in front of them to get people's sympathy.
"Donya Leonora, if you want to change the design, just call me" said Engineer Vitale before leaving.
He left the office then went to the kitchen. He found Manang Evy cleaning there.
"Has my son eaten yet?"
"Ah. Yes, Donya Leonora"
"In case anyone comes here tell him to come back tomorrow"
"Opo"
He went to his room and there slept soundly. He was tired because of his meeting in Baguio. They will also build another condo building there.
Outside, Aria arrived with a basket of fruit.
"Oh, Aria. I'll let you in but don't be too loud because Donya is asleep" said Manang Evy as the girl continued.
Letty, on the other hand, had just finished feeding Piper. He poured out the food so that he could eat it.
"Is Piper asleep?" even when Aria was far away she did not forget the friend. He was also one of those who was most worried about Piper. He was confused by what had happened but did not want to ask any deeper questions.
"No. He just finished eating" Letty said in a tired tone.
"That's right. I also have some more to remove umay. Leche flan is his favorite"
Aria was still dancing as she walked up the stairs. But when he was in front of his friend's room, his legs stopped spontaneously.
She feels like she's gaining weight. He will see again how miserable the friend he knows is the most resilient person he has ever met.
He took a deep breath first and counted three times before knocking.
"Piper?" he called several times while knocking but no one answered.
When he touched the lock he could not turn it to open the door.
"SPARE KEY! ASK FOR SPARE KEY! LOCK PIPER'S DOOR!"
He didn't care if his hand still bled as he knocked on his friend's door. He even slammed the door with his own body but he was not strong enough to destroy it.
When Letty found it at the top of the refrigerator she immediately ran. He was nervous and didn't care how many more times he stumbled while climbing the stairs.
Donya Leonora, on the other hand, was taken aback by Aria's shout. He put on clothes and slippers and went out.
Letty's nervousness reached out as she sorted through the spare key. Her hands were shaking as she sweated. Neither of them seemed to be breathing that moment.
"Piper !!!" Aria's cry seemed to echo throughout the room. He let go of the carry.
They were so shocked to see Piper floating because of the rope tied around her neck to the ceiling.
On her bed Donya Leonora saw her son's note.
Sadness replaces everything, Mama. I can't do this anymore. Hope you are happy with what you are enjoying now.
Finally, my real parents and I are together and I will hug Cade when we meet.
