Audrey POV
I flickered my eyelids open. Huh?
I shut them briefly and opened them again.
Where's this place?
I darted my eyes around for a while, and then, the realization hit me- I was in the hospital.
Who brought me?
Could it be him- the Head prefect?
No!
He's a monster, he would never have thought of bringing me here, after hurting me.
I felt a sharp pain in my head, while sitting up.
I groaned softly.
He's gonna regret every bit of the pain he caused me, together with the mastermind behind this, because I'm so sure he's not alone in this.
I should start going home- mum would be so worried sick by now.
“Oh goodness, Mi cha!”
“You are finally awake!” Mum's voice stopped me from leaving the bed.
Huh?
She rushed to me with smiles all over her face.
“How are you feeling now?” She asked, pushing my hair back.
I opened my mouth to talk.
“Are you feeling pain anywhere?” She cupped my cheeks and asked.
I smiled- so loving.
“I'm alright, mum” My voice crooked.
I let out a small cough, so I could get my voice back.
She sat down on the bed close to me and slowly held my hands.
“I was so worried, Audrey”
“I thought something bad was going to happen to you” Her voice came out unsteady, she's about to cry.
“I'm alright, mum”
“But how did you bring me to the hospital?” I questioned.
“Cause if I am not mistaken, Immediately that jackass hit me on the head, I fell to the floor with no hope of a lifesaver,” I explained, staring at the cabinet beside me.
Mum squeezed my hands warmly.
“Tell me, Audrey”
“What have you done?”
I turned my head to her, abruptly.
“What do you mean by that, mum?” I asked, harshly.
“Why were you hit on the head?”
“I don't know, mum!” I yelled, removing my hand from her hold.
“I boarded a cab, the cab driver took the wrong direction, I was shocked and asked him where he was taking me- and I was beyond shock when the cab driver turned out to be the school Head prefect” I narrated in a high pitch voice.
I'm pissed right now.
She thought I got into a fight.
“The school Head prefect?” She asked like she'd heard wrong.
“Yes mum!”
I averted my eyes around the ward to the wall clock; it's 10:00am.
Oh, my…
I already passed a night here?
I glanced at my body, I was wearing the hospital cloth. Whoa!
“But why would he do that?” Mum's voice snapped me back. “We'll find out soon, cause the most shocking part is that we never talked before, so I don't understand
“I'm going to school now, mum,” I announced, crawling out of the bed.
“No, no, Audrey”
She stopped me with her hands.
“You need to eat first, so you can take the pills the Doctor had recommended”
“Those can wait, mum,” I groused.
“Please, baby”
“I promise we are going to your school after you took the medications,” She said, levelly.
I heaved a deep sigh before nodding my head slowly.

“You didn't even ask after your life savior” Mum said after a brief silence, while feeding me.
I gestured at her to hold on.
I gulped the last content she'd scooped into my mouth and collected the glass of water.
I drank some water and kept the glass cup.
“I was going to ask earlier, but it skipped my mind”
“Who saved me from dying?” I asked curiously.
She breathed out heavily before narrating everything to me.
My mouth went agape immediately.
“So, who's your new male friend that you haven't introduced to me?” Mum asked, smiling at me.
I just stared at her.
“The person was wearing the same uniform as me?” I asked her again to be certain I haven't heard wrong. She nodded.
“That was what the Doctor told me,” Mum answered, bringing out the medications from her purse.
It can never be the Head prefect- he wasn't even wearing the school uniform.
Then who?
I coughed out loud when my mind drifted to Duffer. “Are you okay?” Mum asked worriedly, stretching out the glass of water to me.
I gulped it down at once and gave the cup to her.
No!
It couldn't be him, or could he?
He doesn't even live in that area.
Then who could it be?
And it was a male.
“Are you trying to tell me you don't know who your savior might be?” Mum asked with popped eyes. I shook my head, sympathetically.
“Oh my world, Audrey”
She flapped her hair back as she talks.
I placed a hand on my bandaged head.
Oh lord, who could it be?

“You mean the head prefect did this to you?” The principal asked for the second time.
Mum and I are sitting next to each, facing with the principal.
I just finished narrating all that transpired between the head prefect and I.
“Yes, Mr. An!”
“And I'm arresting him right away!”
Mum has gone ballistic.
“Calm down, ma'am”
“It's just hard to believe” He says, shaking his head.
“Then call him here!” Mum half yelled, banging her fist on the table.
The principal nodded before making use of the telephone.
“Send Travis in, right now,” He ordered in his cold voice, before dropping the phone.
“Are you sure about what you're saying?” He looked at me and asked.
I seethe inwardly, and before I could utter a word, his office door creaked open, interrupting me.
“Come here, Travis,” The principal gestured with his head.
I took my eyes to him, and he froze immediately.
Hold on,
He wasn't expecting me to come report his crimes?
Or perhaps he thought I was going to die.
Mum stood up and charged towards him.
“How dare you hurt my daughter!” Mum shot at him fiercely, sending a hard slap to his left cheek.
Mr. An quickly stepped in.
“You should stop this, ma'am” The principal almost yell.
“How could you tell me to stop it, when he'd wanted to kill my daughter,” Mum scowled.
“Calm down, mum”
I held her wrist and make her sat down.
I glanced at the head prefect, and it looks like he's just reviving from the slap.
“She narrated a story to me, which I still find hard to believe till you enlighten me,” The principal said, after he returned to his seat- facing him.
The principal took his time to narrate everything to him, the same way I told him.
“I don't know anything about this, sir” He said flatly, and I looked up at him in shock.
“You don't know what?” I asked him in a low voice, getting on my feet.
He shook his head.
“You're mistaken me for another person,” He said calmly, staring at his feet.
“Have you lost your mind?” I bellowed.
“Audrey” Mum called.
"You're doing this, so I can look like a fool, right?”
“Hey. That's enough” The principal chipped in. “Sir, he's the same person that beat and hit me with a plank” I faced the principal and told him, in a crying voice.
“Sit down, dear,” He cooed.
I shot him one more glance before sitting down.
“You see this boy standing over here,” The principal began, pointing a finger at him.
“I've known him right from his kindergarten, and believe me, I know what he can and cannot do,” He said with so much trust.
“So you mean to say my daughter is lying?” Mum asked, angrily.
The principal breathes out before speaking up.
“She's being injured in the head, I would urge you to go back to the hospital, to check if things haven't gone wrong” He advised, looking so serious.
Mum and I share a short glance.
“Are you being serious?” Mum asked him.
He nodded.
Mum stood up with rage and took my hand before stomping out of the office.
“You're leaving this school, Audrey” Mum clenched her teeth in anger.
“It's fine, mum”
“It hasn't gotten to this…”
“Of course it has, Mi cha” She cut in.
I smiled, walking beside her- heading to where the car was parked.
I'll make sure he confessed his crimes himself, I promise.
Plus, I still need to find who saved my life.
