Chapter 17
Liam heaved profoundly. He was f*cking knackered. It was a long and tricky road to Mr. Fergus farm. The farm location was familiar to him since when he was eight years old, Mr. Fergus often brought him there during harvest time.
It was a habit for Liam to observe Mr. Fergus constantly when he and Mr. Fergus haven't reunited yet, that was his ways to protect the old man who saved him. He remembered when he was eight, it was a great satisfaction to pick oranges from its branches.
Even though it was a long time ago, Liam still reminiscing those times like an unbroken panorama of the village, lovely and whenever he looks, everything was beautiful.
He held firmly the wooden cane that supported him while walking. His other hand roughly wiped the sweat dripping from his forehead. He turned his back and he saw Keiran, who slowly walked and almost fifty meters away.
Liam told him earlier not to come but he didn't listen. He shrugged. Liam observed Keiran panting following him.
Keiran's T-shirt was soaked with his sweat. The road to the tea and oranges farm of Mr. Fergus was tricky and they need to climb the mountain.
The sun is too hot. But Keiran had to endure that. While Liam has wound and the pain was stinging. The wound was still bleeding, Liam endured their long walk.
His werewolf power doesn't do anything with that long journey. He sat down waiting for Keiran. He never took his eyes off Keiran who was barely able to walk.
They need to walk just one kilometer away before they reach Mr. Fergus farm. When Keiran reached the spot where Liam was resting, Kieran gave a long profound sigh.
Kieran dropped himself in the ground. They were on the peak of the little mountain. Keiran closed his eyes and his entire face was drawn with extreme fatigue.
He mumbled his tiredness. Keiran wanted to stay there for a while or until dusk he can walk anymore any longer. He was unaware that Liam kept glancing at his visage. Liam seemed to be studying the every perfect features of Keiran's face.
Keiran was stunned when he felt a finger tip that caressed his lower lip. The touch was soft like a feather of a bird. A while a go he fell asleep and his mind fled from him and he has no single thought anymore of how exhausted he was.
Keiran slowly opened his eyelids and Liam's glad face met his face. It was Liam who caressed his lower lip, whose reason was unknown to him.
"W-why?" He asked.
"Those red ants, they wanted to bite your lower lip, I gently oust them away." Liam answered with a smile. "C'mon get up, we've been here for one hours."
"W-what?" He stood up quickly and when he looked around the surrounding was dim. "What time was it now? You? Why didn't you even wake me up?" He grunted.
Liam stood up too and looked down below. There was a hint of rain in the sullen sky. "You're in a deep slumber, young man. Now the only option is to get in the farmhouse, we can't get back to the village now. I'm hoping Mr. Fergus is in the farmhouse."
Liam began to walk and led Keiran. They need to walk faster otherwise they might be overtaken by the heavy rain that will soon pour down. The thunder began to roar and draw a light in the east. The wind that hit their cheeks was also cold.
"Wait, are you sure that uncle Fergus is in the farmhouse?" Keiran asked as he followed Liam.
Keiran tried his best not to be far from Liam because Liam was walking fast. Keiran didn't understand that, Keiran knew Liam had a wound and it was deep but Liam didn't seem to mind it.
Just this afternoon, Keiran could see that Liam was also struggling to walk, but now that the night is near, Liam's strength has suddenly returned.
"Why did you know a lot about uncle Fergus's farm?" Keiran inquired and he didn't mind anymore where he stepped. The surrounding wasn't even clear anymore since the sun was falling into the night chasm. He noticed that Liam seemed to have no problem at night.
"Just keep on walking, my young master," Liam mumbled.
"I am not your master." Keiran protested. He didn't know why Liam didn't even stop. He felt tired again. His knees and feet hurt. How many hours would it take before they reach the farm house?
They have been walking and walking for hours and still that damn farmhouse hasn't been appear yet. Was he right in his decision earlier to force Liam to go with him to see the farmhouse. Liam, of course told him that the route to the farmhouse wasn't easy, but he didn't listen to Liam. What if Liam led him astray?
He didn't believe that his uncle's farmhouse was really far. If only he listened to Liam he wouldn't experience exhaustion and the tiredness that crept in his entire body. His hands were on his waist. He stopped walking. This was trick, he thought, it was impossible that the farmhouse that Liam was telling him was still out of sight.
He shook his head with the thought that Liam perhaps wanted to lead him astray on that forest and mountain. Liam might have a plan to mislead him, but what is in Keiran for Liam to do that to him? If Liam only wanted money, Liam would have told him earlier, so that the drama in that jungle wouldn't have continued.
He could give the money right away if that was what Liam needed. Why the hell everything goes with what they're doing right now, keep walking that seems forever. What does Liam really want? He wanted to ask Liam but words couldn't leave his beautiful lips. His voice remained in his chest.
Liam stopped because he felt that Keiran wasn't following him. He turned his back and he was right. Keiran was standing a few meters away. He could clearly see sweat dripping in Keiran's forehead and how Keiran was breathing deeply.
Liam knew Keiran was tired unlike him he regained his strength because it was night. He thought of shifting into his wolf form and allowing Keiran to ride on his back. But that will only bring fear and shock with unaware Keiran.
"Oh, why are you still standing there? Thinking of that—ahmmm that one you mentioned while sleeping?" He laughed as he recalled how Keiran mentioned—Connor's name, was it Connor? He still remembered it, and that was the name Keiran mentioned.
He asked himself again who was Connor. Why he could feel the pain in Keiran's voice while mentioning that name .It was like a name that Keiran forced to ignore mentally. He'll find it out who was that Connor.
The chance of asking Keiran about the latter's life in the city vanish in the thin air. It might surprise Keiran if he asks him a personal questions. That wasn't good at the meantime but he'll assure himself that one day he will ask Keiran a lot of questions where he was interested, it was a normal thing for friends. However, they're not friends yet .
"That again? Can you tell me who was I mentioning last night? It confused me." Keiran walked to the spot where Liam was waiting for him. "Do you feel raindrops?" Keiran asked Liam when he felt a few raindrops hit his soft skin. He can't be soaked with rain because he has nothing to wear since Liam's mentioned that tomorrow they will go home to the village. "Hey, do you hear me? It was raining!"
"I know, it was your fault, you walked so slowly. Now, we have to rush through the rain because the farmhouse is only about fifteen meters away from here." Liam pointed his finger at the dark. "There, that where the Farmhouse stood. You need to walk fast, don't act sissy, will you?"
"Sissy my ass." He draws a snigger in his lips. "You want to see big ripe papaya in your forehead? I can tackle you down no matter how massive your body is. I'm the best student in Taekwondo."
"Keep that word for yourself." Liam hastily turned his back and walked away. "If you're strong enough just keep on walking or running, take that as a splendid idea," he added.
"Yes, from a daft guy— this talk is all about me being slow walking with this f*cking snug tricky road. When will we reach the end? When the pig is flying?"
The rain poured and it was raining hard. Keiran hugged himself following the silent Liam. Was Liam disappointed because he called him daft? Is the word stupid offensive? Not to Keiran, not to anyone like him from the city. Why it is offensive when it was true.
It was raining harder and harder. The thunder light drew in the sky followed rumbling thunder. Keiran heart almost falling every time the thunder roared. Nevertheless, he was thankful with his cellphone light that helped him along the way.
If it wasn't for the light of his flashlight, he might have fallen somewhere. Finally after a long walk he saw the farmhouse. He heaved a sigh of relief. Now his problem is what he will wear later.
Liam knocked on the door of the farmhouse. There was no light. Everything was fraught with darkness. The earth, the trees, and everything was swallowed by darkness. After knocking on the door ten times, Liam slowly pushed it. The door opened, Liam called Mr. Fergus name, but no one answering him.
When they were already inside that house, Liam was looking for something and he realized that he was looking for flambeau or kerosene, but he found none, fortunately there was solar light and when he turned it on, the light illuminated the place.
Kieran was trembling with cold. He wanted to take off his soaked shorts and pants but his problem was he didn't have what to wear to replace them.
He quietly sat in the wooden chair and observed Liam who wasn't even talking. His eyes widened when Liam took off his shirt and Liam's massive body exposed to him. Keiran swallowed repeatedly. Keiran couldn't resist peeping at Liam's wrestler shoulder that part of his burly physique. Liam seemed the good actor in R-18 clip he often watched. Liam has the fairer sex play. What a body, what a spicy aroma that smelled like sex.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought you here." Liam stated.
"It was my fault." He answered lowering his voice. "Can you tell me why you seemed familiar with this place? Are you someone related to my uncle? Like relative?"
"I work with him..." He cut Keiran off, unable to think of the answer. "I think you need to take off your clothes and change them. I saw some extra clothes in this room." He pointed to the room where Liam found the solar light a while ago. "I can tell you're very cold."
"Okay, just turn around because I need to take off my boxers as well."
"Boxer? What is that?" Liam inquired. He was curious about that new word.
"Are you kidding me?"
Liam smiled. "Just take your clothes off now. After that I'll ask you to help me to start a fire. It was too cold."
"Turn around, I'll take off my clothes."
Liam shrugged. "I don't see any problem here. You're man and I'm man. You can take your pants off right in my face, I won't mind. But your glossy skin was good, it wasn't like mine ." He looked intimately at Kieran from eyes down to Keiran lips and he rotates his look back to Kieran eyes. "You're so cute."
"Man, don't tell me you're —Oh, I need to change my clothes inside," he said quickly finding a way to change the subject. Impossible was the right word for his thoughts that Liam was falling in love with him.
That was too frivolous. It was him who was at the stage of confirming whether he has feelings for Liam. Was he falling in love with Liam? How easy.
"Tell me a story, I want to listen to a story." He called out while choosing for the shirt he has to wear. He received no answer from Liam. He called Liam names again but he heard nothing only the sound of raindrops.Download Novelah App
