Mingyu's POV... After our not-so-long passionate kiss under the moonlight, we eventually pull back to catch our breaths, while again getting lost in each other's eyes. I could feel the rythm of our hearts beating in sync. His brown eyes stares deeply into mine as his face starts to heat up. "Xiaoliang.." I paused for a moment, feeling myself at lost with words. I could feel a tinkling sensation of butterflies running in my heart. Honestly, I couldn't really describe in details why I wanted to make the first move, when I only know that my heart just wanted to do it. It's as if a miracle just happened, a small ray of courage starts crawling around my heart, slowly pushing me to spill whatever is in my heart. I wish I knew where this feeling came from, because I never saw it coming. But instead of giving me a proper answer (or question), he leans closer to me and again connect our lips. His touch made me feel like fireworks are shooting a cross my heart. Without thinking, I slowly put my arms around his neck, while feeling both of his strong hands on my cheeks, alluring me more into his temptating vibe. The only difference between tonight's event than last night, was the fact that tonight I feel more relief, having enough courage to express myself more. In this moment, I feel like he just sent all my anixieties to sleep, while slowly awakening the flame of desires in me. The next day.... 8:15 AM... At Huang University... Junhao walks over to his locker to get some books. After some comforting moments he had with Mingyu last night, he is glad that he's able to get some energy to attend college today. He felt thankful that she reached out during his difficult time, just to cheer him up. He always thought that she was the one who needed all the help, but he could say that she proved him wrong last night. He also needed some help from her. As Junhao reached his locker, he opens it and starts to look for some books. As he continues to search for the books needed, a familiar female voice calls out his name, getting his attention instantly. "Junhao!" Junhao turns his head to see the girl with the familiar voice. Usually he would smile after hearing it, but somehow he realized that he couldn't find the muscles to do it today, maybe since he's still trying to recover after the emotional roller-coaster. "Where have you been?" the girl, Meiling, ask him with a serious tone. "I was at home," Junhao answers in a flat tone, as his vision continues to search the locker for his books. "You didn't pick up my calls or texts," Meiling says, before crossing her arms in an agressive manner. "I wasn't feeling too well," Junhao answers before closing his locker. He turns his head to finally see Meiling now standing in front of him with her arms crossed. Her face looks upset at him, and he knew well that it's because he didn't respond to her calls nor texts. Meiling sighs. She wanted to act more agressive right now, but she knew that she couldn't possibly do that knowing that she's the one who has the guilt in her hands. If she didn't cheated on Junhao, maybe all this mess wouldn't even happen. Yet, she didn't want to give up on the relationship, especially after she clearly broke up whatever relationship she was involved with Liqiang. She isn't ready to lose Junhao. "Look, about what happened yesterday, I promise you that it's all a big misunderstanding," Meiling says, trying her best to convience Junhao. "I understand. Just forget about it," Junhao says. Though he is still hurt deep inside by what happened, he's trying his best to let go of the pain. "I want things to be back to the way it was," Meiling says. Junhao sighs. He didn't quite know how to respond. On one side, he still has feelings for Meiling despite her affair with Liqiang, but on the other hand he couldn't bear to go on with a relationship that broke both his heart and trust. Junhao sighs. "Let's just forget about it. No hard feelings left." With that final word, Junhao attempted to walk away from Meiling, but she stops him as she blocks his way. "I don't want things to be like this," Meiling says, again with a serious tone. Knowing that he can't keep avoiding her, Junhao stares into Meiling's brown eyes. His eyes are filled with sorrow, but staring into her eyes made him notice that she also looks disappointed. Her usually bright eyes are now filled with disappointment, and not to mention she has dark circles under her eyes. He assumed she must have had a hard time sleeping. The sight of Meiling looking all sad broke his heart. Even though he didn't want to continue what they had in the past, he didn't wish for her to be sad about it. After all, she is still the person who once had a special place in his heart. "What happened can't be change, Meiling," Junhao says, before he went silent for a moment. It was hard for him to say those words, but he knew he needed to make things clear with Meiling. He didn't want to hurt her more with lies. "Let's just move on with each other's lifes," Junhao says. "I wish you well, Meiling." After hearing those final words from Junhao, Meiling went speechless as she watch Junhao walk away from her sight. Knowing that she was about to burst into tears, Junhao couldn't bear to look at her in tears knowing that it was because of his words, and by that chose to not the witness the sight. A few hours later... At the cafeteria... Mingyu's POV.... I decided to have lunch with Junhao today, since I thought he might still need some comfort after the break-up, despite the unfriendly gaze I received from Meiling, making me feel uncomfortable. He had told me about his encounter with Meiling this morning, in which he said he finally cleared things with her. That explains enough why both he and Meiling had looked so sorrow since this morning. Honestly, I really had no intention to heat up the situation. The only thing I'm concern about right now is Junhao's condition. "So how's your lunch?" I ask Junhao, who is in the middle of having a bowl of chicken congee. "Good," he answers. "How about yours?" "Good," I answer. As for me, I brought some pork noodles from home. We continue with our lunch in peace, of course with me still trying to ignore any intimidating gazes. Just then, Yifei walks inside the cafeteria, as usual looking all fancy in her stylish outfit, and going hand in hand with Xiaoliang. As the two walk through the cafeteria, I saw Xiaoliang form a small smile at my direction, making my heart skipped a beat for a second. I quickly turn my head away, not wanting him to notice my burning cheeks now. Sunday... 10:30 AM... "Here's your order, Miss," Mingyu says as she serves the bowl of fish balls noodle to the table. "Thank you," says the young lady who ordered the dish. Mingyu smiled at the lady, before turning around to go back to the kitchen to get more orders. As she walks out the kitchen again with two bowls noodles in her hands, she sees the glass door of the noodle shop opening, revealing a familiar male figure entering. Bright eyes and thin lips are the signatures of the familiar guy, Zhao Junhao. Their eyes meet, and Junhao forms a small smile to Mingyu's direction. He then walks over to an empty table and takes a seat. "Here are your orders," Mingyu says as she serves the two noodles to the couple who ordered them. After that, Mingyu walks over to Junhao's table and see him having his eyes on his phone for a second. He then puts his phone back in his pocket upon her arrival at his table. "Junhao, what can I get you today?" Mingyu ask as she hands him the menu. "I actually wanted to ask you out today," Junhao says as he puts the menu on the table. "What?" Mingyu turns her vision to Junhao and raise one of her eyebrow. She thought she just misheard what he just said. "I said, I wanted to ask you out. I was wondering if we could go somewhere and hang out?" Junhao ask. "What do you think?" Mingyu hesitated for a second, but thought that Junhao might needed some comfort again, or he just wanted to have a simple conversation. Otherwise, he wouldn't have approached her on a Sunday while she's in her working hours. Besides, the noodle shop isn't too crowded today, so hopefully her mom will actually give her permission to have go out and talk with Junhao. "Ok," Mingyu says. Junhao forms a small smile. "Thanks." Mingyu walks back to the kitchen, while starting to think about a way to talk to her mother about wanting to get a time off with Junhao, while hoping she won't get furious. Meanwhile... At Central Mall... "Which one do you think looks better on me?" Yifei shows Xiaoliang two dresses, one red and one black in which she considers to try on. "Both of them looks good," Xiaoliang answers. Honestly, he isn't really fond of fashion, by that he doesn't really think an outfit is much important, and is not really into styles. "Then at least choose one in which you think will look better on me," Yifei says, still being indecisive. Xiaoliang shifts his visions between the two dresses, not having much idea about which one to choose. When Yifei said she wanted him to acompany her shopping today, he didn't quite expect her to ask for his opinion . He wasn't prepared for this, but knew that it's part of the job. "Well, red symbolizes happiness. So I think, a red dress looks nice," Xiaoliang says. "Ok, I'll try it on." Yifei turns her around and enters the changing room to try on the red dress. As Xiaoliang waits for Yifei to walk out, he decided to check out his phone. Upon scrolling through the various posted moments his friends shared on Wechat, he stops when a post caught his attention. A simple photo of a chocolate bar and a jar of overnight oats, complete with a simple caption. The sweetest combo. Xiaoliang read it in his head, while having his vision on the photo, before shifting to the name of the person who posted it, Wang Mingyu. Not intentionally planning to think about her at this hour, the vision of Mingyu starts surfacing in his head. Despite the fact that she still gets anxious most of the time, yet her gentleness and caring personality are what Xiaoliang really consider most attractive in her. Behind her anxious self, she never wanted to see her surroundings sad, and is willing to make them feel better with comfort. He sees her as a very strong person, who goes on with life still trying to be kind despite receiving so much pain. He found it to be a rare thing for broken person to do that. The thought of Mingyu brought him back to the night when he met her at Moonlight Cinema, standing alone in the cold weather. He remembered how her grip was so tight on his waist as he took her back home with her bike. The way she shivered even when she's still wearing his jacket, and the way she looked under the night sky. But what he remembered most about that night, because it was the first time both of them had the courage to actually express their feelings to one another. Not with words, but through actions, which is definetly sweeter than any word that could be said. He found that night to be a miracle, and thought that it was something special for the both of them. "How do I look?" Yifei's voice got Xiaoliang to snap back to reality after his moment of flashback session. He takes a look at Yifei who is wearing the red, shoulder sleeve dress. "Oh, great," Xiaoliang says, still trying to focus on what is presented after his mind wondered about Mingyu. Yifei smiles. "Then I'll be getting this one." In a swift, Yifei turns around and walks back to the changing room, leaving Xiaoliang once again alone with his wondering mind. 11:03 AM... At The Bloom Fair... Mingyu's POV... After my mom agreed to let me go out with Junhao, he took me to The Bloom Fair which is not too far from home. Since today is Sunday, the fair is pretty crowded. Most of them are young couples and group of friends, just having some fun. What makes this fair quite popular during the weekends is because it is well known for having various games. Other than that, the fair sells various souvenirs and also delicious foods. "Ah, it's a crowded place," Junhao says as the two of us stood in front of the fair's enterance. "Let's go have lunch first," Junhao says as he turns his head to look at me. "Ok," I say. Junhao's thin lips form a small smile. Without a warning, he suddenly grab my hand and drags me inside the crowded fair. I was surprised by his sudden action, but thought that maybe he's just excited about exploring the fair. From what I knew for being his friends over the years, Junhao had always been a child at heart. He gets excited when he's happy, and has a lively personality. Well, at least today I get to see him smile again, though I still noticed that his eyes still have some hidden sorrows. Through this healing journey, I hope he'll be back to his usual self soon. "What do you want to eat?" Junhao ask. "Anything is ok," I say. We continue to search the fair for a nice place to have lunch, when our eyes stop at a stand that sells wonton noodles. Knowing that it's one of our favorite dish, we walked over to take a seat and ordered two bowls for us. As we wait for our food to come out, I start to study the crowded sight. Deep inside it tinkles a bit of anxiety in me, yet I try to calm myself down. Luckily Junhao is beside me, so at least I'm not too anxious. "Mingyu, are you ok?" Junhao ask. To be continue....
