The next day...
8:10 AM...
At Huang University...
Mingyu's POV...
I walk through the hallway as usual, while looking for any signs of Xiaoliang. So far, I still haven't seen him. It's whether he's still on the road with Yifei, or chances are he had arrived earlier than me and I haven't spot him yet. Thinking of him, after having a late night talk with him last night, I couldn't help but rethink about his statement about calling me as his big sister. When I woke up this morning, the thought of his words kept replaying in my head, making me more confuse about myself.
Honestly, when I told him that he could call me "Jie Jie" last night, I just wanted to maintain whatever we're having at the moment, and by that I wanted to agree with his desires. In a weird way, there is something about him that makes me fear of not getting near him. Behind his mysteriously alluring introvert aura, I didn't expect to discover such a gentle guy with a warm heart. He is caring and full of concern, which never fails to caught my attention. I realized that he had come across my mind more often these days. Thinking about him had even became a secret remedy when I am feeling restless from time to time.
"YOU DISCGUSTING WITCH! AND AFTER ALL THAT CRAP, TURNS OUT YOU WERE THE ONE SLEEPING WITH HIM?"
A loud scream came across my ears as I stop with my steps. I see a big crowd of people in front of me, all gathered together as if they are witnessing something eye-catching. Constant screamings can be heard coming from a girl. I couldn't see her though, since I'm standing in the back of the crowd, but I found her voice to be familiar. Curious at the scene, I slip my way to the front of the crowd, wanting to see what is actually happening. I almost drop my jaws when I see a furious Jing Jing screaming at a scared Meiling while she tries to seperate Liqiang and Junhao, who are staring at each other with furious glares.
"You discgusting witch!" Jing Jing screams as she slaps Meiling harshly on her right cheek.
"Stay out of this, Jing Jing!" Liqiang pulls Jing Jing away from Meiling.
"What? So now you prefer sleeping with your friend's girlfriend?" Jing Jing turns around to face Liqiang. Her eyes sharply looks at Liqiang with fury.
"Guys, please just stop all of this! You're causing a scene!" Meiling says in a high tone, slightly screaming at her sentence. From her voice, I could tell she was about to burst into tears.
"I'm causing a scene? Me? Huh, says the girl who doesn't even have shame!" Jing Jing raises her hand as she is about to slap Meiling again, yet she is stopped with Junhao grabbing her hand and stopping.
"Have some brain and stop attacking her," Junhao says in a stern tone at Jing Jing.
"Liqiang, you better tell your girlfriend to stop harrasing my girlfriend!" Junhao says to Liqiang with fury.
"Your girlfriend? Huh, that witch slept with my boyfriend and you still call her your girlfriend? I'm impressed," Jing Jing says in an insulting tone, making Junhao stares at her with a furious look.
Jing Jing turns her deadly gaze to Meiling. It's obvious that her eyes are filled with grudge and fury. I stood frozen at this chaotic scene. Fear kept running inside my vein as I'm hoping that Junhao will not get hurt. It's a bit reliefing to know that he took kung fu lessons back in middle school. Hopefully he can defend himself.
"Seems like one man can't satisfy her, that she chose to find her way to your friend," Jing Jing says as she struggles to escape her hand from Junhao's tight grip. "Let go of me now, you jerk!"
Suddenly, Liqiang throws his fist at Junhao's face, causing him to almost fall to the ground, and giving a chance for Jing Jing to slap Meiling, making her hold her cheek in pain.
"Junhao!" I scream at the sight of my best friend getting punched.
Junhao became furious and starts attacking Liqiang, where the two end up having a big fight and constantly attacking each other.
"Guys, please stop!" Meiling shouts at the two guys, but they ignore her.
"Stop trying to get in between them! You're the one who caused all this mess-"
Meiling furiously slaps Jing Jing's right cheek, leaving her in shock as she holds her cheek with a shock and furious look. She look like she didn't expect to see Meiling slap her back, which was odd. Why would she think that Meiling would just stay silent when she slapped her in the first place?
"You nasty witch! You told me that Liqiang was sleeping with that stupid anxious girl. But turns out you were also sleeping with him," Jing Jing says.
My eyes widen. I almost drop my jaws after what I just heard. It was shocking enough to know that Meiling had an affair with Liqiang while still dating Junhao, but other than that, she was litetally the one who spread those false rumours about me? That was too shocking to handle. My head became suddenly dizzy as I feel myself losing my breath at the thought of the horrible flashback, when she bullied me along with the other students. I quickly turn my vision to Junhao, only to see him standing in silence, looking all shock. 
Liqiang throws another punch at Junhao's face, before kicking his stomach, making him fall to the ground.
"Junhao!" I rush to his direction and bends down to see him. Yet, before I could even study his face to see if there are any bruises, he gets up and punches Liqiang on his left cheek.
The crowd just got louder as the two boys starts attacking each other again, this time more violent. Both scared and panic, I quickly rush over to Junhao's side and tries to pull him away from Liqiang, while Meiling tries to pull Liqiang away from Junhao and stop the fight.
"ENOUGH WITH THIS!" Meiling shouts before running in between Liqiang and Junhao. I managed to pull Junhao to back away from Liqiang.
"Liqiang! You better tell this snake that you don't have more time for her stupid dramas," Jing Jing says in a high tone.
"For whatever sake, Zhu Jing Jing! Just stay away from me at least once!" Liqiang shouts at Jing Jing.
While holding Junhao's arm tightly, I took a glance of Jing Jing's face. She looks furiously emotional after Liqiang shouted at her. I could see tears slowly coming out from her eyes, in which she harshly wipes away.
"Fine, if that's what you want. Just enjoy your time with this pathetic snake," Jing Jing says with tears in her eyes. She quickly runs away from crowded scene, leaving the chaotic scene that is happening.
"I don't want to see this non-sense anymore!" Meiling says to Liqiang with a stern tone, before turning around to face Junhao. Her eyes are filled with rage, but at the same time I could see sadness in them, which surprised me. This is the first time I actually see Meiling with hidden sadness in her eyes. For a second, she glance at me with a glare filled with hatred, making me avoid eye contact with her.
"What was all of that? All that happened, what Jing Jing said, what was that suppose to mean?" Junhao ask Meiling, his voice filled with mixed emotions.
I glance at Meiling to see her standing in silence. If looks could kill, I could have already died by her deadly stares.  Tears starts to fill her eyes as she struggles to open her lips to say anything. Even after finding out she was the one who spread the false rumours about me, somehow looking at her right now makes me feel bad for her in a way.
"That's enough," Liqiang says as he approaches Meiling. He puts his left arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer to him.
"Zhao Junhao, you're not worth her tears. Please mind your business and stay away from Meiling," Liqiang says in a stern tone, before turning away with Meiling.
I glance at Junhao who just stood in shock. Mixed emotions could clearly be seen on his face. Fury, betrayed, hurt, everything is mixed up, which I had never witness before coming from my best friend. Junhao had always been a person with positive emotions and doesn't let anything put him down. Yet, seeing him right now looking all sad and messed up is definetly something new for me. Deep down, it hurt me to see my best friend like this.
One by one, the crowd soon departs with the students all leaving to their classes one by one. Just as everyone starts to depart, I notice Yifei and Xiaoliang walking to our direction, looking all confused.
"Woah, what just happened?" Yifei ask with a confused tone. She glance at me for a moment, her smile seems secretive, but I just smile back at her anyway, before turning my vision to Xiaoliang, who had been staring at me the whole time.
With an upset look, Junhao walks away, with my hands finally losing the grip to his arm, leaving both Yifei and Xiaoliang confuse at the situation.
"What's up with him?" Yifei scoffs.
I sigh. I didn't really want to explain anything to Yifei at the moment, since I am too worried about Junhao. Yet, I couldn't possibly just run away from a question. That wouldn't be a polite thing to do, and as much as my anxiety always makes me feel like I wanna escape everything (and everyone), I wouldn't want to come out as rude to people.
"Nothing. Just some issues," I say. At least I gathered enough energy to give her an explanation. "Well, I gotta go!"
Realizing that class will start soon, I ran off through the hallway, leaving Yifei and Xiaoliang behind, though my mind is still wondering about him. Yet, knowing that Junhao is an on time person, I believe that he won't skip class. By that, I decided to see how he's doing after class. I hope he will be ok.
A few hours later...
At the cafeteria...
I sit in silence at the cafeteria as I continue to eat the chocolate bar Xiaoliang had bought me last night. My eyes continue to search the cafeteria for any signs of Junhao, yet I still haven't seen his presence, which is really weird since Junhao never skipped lunch. In fact, he was the one who used to remind me to never skip lunch back in middle school. Back then, he would always acompany me during lunch since I was afraid to get bullied by the others, despite the fact that a lot of students had asked him to join them for lunch. Well, Junhao was pretty popular back in school.
As my vision continues to search for Junhao, I see Yifei walking inside the cafeteria, followed by Xiaoliang. As usual, she walks with confident and grace in every step, making the students turn their attention to her. She finally stops and takes a seat and an empty table across me. To my surprise, Xiaoliang takes a seat that is right across me, making us have a coincidental eye contact. My heart skipped a beat when our eyes met. He forms a small smile at me, before he slowly moves his vision to my lips, making me blush intensely. Great, I hope I don't have any chocolate stains on my lips.
Meanwhile, outside the cafeteria...
"Meiling, just listen to me for a-"
"Shut your mouth cause there's nothing else to say! I don't need your damn explanations," Meiling says in a furious tone. Slowly, she turns around to face Liqiang. Their eyes meet and Liqiang could tell that her eyes are filled with fury and emotions.
"Meiling, I am sorry," Liqiang apologizes while attempting to grab her hand to comfort her.
"There's nothing else to say, Wu Li Qiang! You ruined the relationship I had. At the same time, you also broke whatever we had." Meiling throws his hand away from her.
Liqiang was hurt by her sudden action. He didn't expect her to be this angry at what he did this morning. Other than that, he didn't expect Junhao to see what they were doing this morning near the lockers. Sure, he was the one who started playing with fire, but what he always thought, who was he to blame for his uncontrollable feelings towards Meiling?
"I clearly told you to stop, but you didn't. You didn't even deny the fact when Junhao caught us," Meiling says, her voice still filled with disappointment. "You did that on purpose, I suppose? You really wanted him to find out that bad."
Meiling's bold statement made Liqiang speechless. He didn't know how to react to her comment, since it was true. He did wanted Junhao to find out about him and Meiling, since he had enough of keeping his feelings behind and watching them together. Not to mention, he believed that he could be a better man for Meiling than Junhao. Yet, looking at how furious Meiling is right now is making him lose hope little by little.
"If you have any shame in yourself, just stay away from me!" Meiling turns around and walks inside the cafeteria, leaving a heart-broken Liqiang to stood in silence, as the other students starts whispering about him as they pass by to enter the cafeteria.
As Meiling enters the cafeteria, all the students turns their attention to her with a surprised look. She had been a hot topic around since the incident that happened earlier, which deep down irritated Meiling. Always putting her education above everything, Meiling had grew up to always put on a perfect reputation with her education. So for her to experience getting bad-mouthed by Jing Jing and being the talk of the whole college was something she would like to avoid at all cost. If there is another thing Meiling hated just as much as trust issues in her relationships, that would be having a bad reputation. Now, not only are the students talking about her break-up with Junhao, but also the fact that she cheated on him with Liqiang, who Jing Jing had claimed to be her boyfriend. At this moment, she felt like she wanted to slap anyone without any reasons.
Meanwhile, Yifei had been focusing on her lunch while talking with Xiaoliang, not even bother to notice that Meiling had enter the cafeteria. Today, Yifei had brought two sets of Hainanese chicken rice for her and Xiaoliang from home, made by her family's personal chef.
"So how's your lunch?" Yifei asks Xiaoliang.
"Good," Xiaoliang answers, before taking another chicken with his chopsticks.
Yifei smiles. "The chef really knew what he was doing."
Xiaoliang slowly turns his vision back to the lunch box as he continues to eat silently. If he had to be honest, he didn't want to portray himself as a burden to her. He insisted that he had already brought his own lunch, but after Yifei persuade him a few times, he didn't want to come out as rude by always rejecting her attempt, especially since he is working for her now.
Xiaoliang turns his head back up. He expected to see Mingyu still eating her chocolate bar, but to his surprise, she had disappear from sight. He assumed she must have finished with her lunch, and that she already left the cafeteria.
I think I know where she went. Xiaoliang thought. He slowly forms a small smile at the thought of the anxious girl.
"Xiaoliang?" Yifei calls out to him.
Xiaoliang turns his vision back to face Yifei, while constantly reminding himself to return to his sense.
"Yes?" Xiaoliang asks Yifei.
Yifei giggles. "Nothing. I just caught you smiling."
Xiaoliang's smile slowly starts to fade as he feels his cheeks starts burning after hearing Yifei's statement. It must have been obvious that he had been smiling at nothing, that she had noticed. He could feel his palms starting to sweat, while butterflies starts dancing inside of him. It's a good thing that Yifei couldn't read minds. He wouldn't be comfortable if she knew what he was thinking about just now. To Xiaoliang, a special thought should only be felt privately in a special way. Yet, there is one thing still running in his head, making him confuse.
Did I just get nervous at the thought of her? Why though? Xiaoliang thought.
