Chapter 29.1

Third-Person POV
The depression that Felicity felt because of what their whole family did to Elyana increased after she heard from Quintin about the things that her best friend shared with the young Generoso. While listening, the words he heard seemed like nails being buried in his chest.
The divorcee told Quintin she intended to move away from Martincus and continue her plan to find a large land to cultivate cacao and coffee.
He felt heavy because the impact of what they did was even more substantial than he thought. Just thinking about it all made him lose his mind. What more for his best friend, who experienced all of those herself?
He couldn't fully imagine how much weight Elyana was carrying during those times, and as a friend who should sympathize with and understand her, he was one of the people who added to her pain. Felicity understood why Elyana chose to approach Quintin rather than him.
"Can you ask the doctor about her diagnostics?" Felicity asked Quintin after a few moments of silence between them.
"Sure," the young man quickly replied. He snatched the expensive cell phone from his pocket and called his cousin's wife's number.
"Hello, sis!” he greeted the psychiatrist.
"Hi, Quin!" She called him by his nickname.
"Did she go there today?" he inquired right after pressing the button on her phone screen to put the phone on loudspeaker.
“Yes, she did,” she answered.
Quintin glanced at Felicity and waited to see if he would say something. When he didn’t say anything, Quintin continued talking to the psychiatrist.
“How is she? What are your findings?" he inquired directly about why he called.
"Now that you've mentioned it, I've been thinking about what you two have, and I couldn't help but conclude that you might be the cause of her depression, but after hearing her story, I discovered there was more—so, who is she to you? It's unusual for someone like you to care so much for a lady," Lilian told Quintin and embarrassed him.
"S-Sis, you're on a loudspeaker! I'm not alone," Quintin informed her to prevent her from possibly dumping him to his grave.
"O-Oh! I'm sorry! You didn't tell me right away. So–back to your question, I can't give you the information you requested. I'm sorry. Those are confidential! Only between me and my patient, my dear brother-in-law," the doctor answered. She sounded serious at that time.
Quintin and Felicity felt disappointed by what the doctor told them, but Felicity had no intention of giving up so quickly.
"Can I talk to her?" the matchmaker asked Quintin, and he extended his one arm to borrow the cellular phone Quintin was holding.
Quintin handed it to him without a second thought.
"Hi, Doctor Lilian! My name is Felicity. I'm unsure if you've heard my name, but if you haven't, I'm the matchmaker helping Quintin. Elyana is my best friend, and I know her parents very well as they know me. We were all just worried about her. Her parents keep calling my mom and asking her for help. They live far away, and Elyana doesn't want them both to come home. We have no intention of using the information we would be getting from you in a bad way. We're just people who care about her so much, and we want to understand exactly what are the things inside her mind to help her daily."
The person on the other line silenced intently for a moment. She understood they were only worried about Elyana, but she still had second thoughts about telling them.
"I understand you care about her, but it's a policy. If my patient finds out, I might lose my license for not following my clinic's etiquette. She even asked me about that," the doctor answered.
The two in the office looked at each other. They knew that there was little chance of getting information from their interlocutor. They were both desperate and had one goal—to help.
"Can I?" Quintin asked, taking back his phone that Felicity was holding.
"This is me, sis. How about we talk about this?" Quintin inquired. His prominent words had more meaning.
"I'm sorry to say this, but my decision is final," the doctor uttered before Quintin could add more to his words.
"Oh, a shame! A back-and-forth ticket to Paris for two, free pocket money, and accommodation would be wasted. I would have taken care of the three boys just in case.”
The doctor on the other line couldn’t believe what she had heard. She knew Quintin would try to bribe her, but it was a serious matter.
Her husband often mentioned what place they dreamed of returning to whenever they were conversing, but they didn't have time because they had small children who didn't want to be away from them. Even time alone with each other was impossible.
"It looks like I can't help you, Felicity. I'm sorry," Quintin continued. He purposely made it louder to pretend that what he was talking to was far away, but the truth was—he made it louder to force his sister-in-law to answer, which he guessed she was already thinking.
"I'm sorry, sis, for the trouble. I'll visit again when I'm not busy," he added and said goodbye, but he didn't intend to hang up the phone yet because he was still waiting for an answer from her.
Felicity was listening, his shoulders slumped because they didn't get anything, but his hopes revived when he heard something before Quintin could completely press the end button.
"Are those true?" Lilian asked.
“Hello, sis? Did you say something?” Quintin asked, pretending he heard nothing when the phone speaker was beside his ear.
