Chapter 29.2
"The trip, tickets, pocket money, accommodation, and babysitting for three boys?" she asked.
"Hmm—yes, but the policy is policy, you said. We'll respect that," Quintin replied, secretly laughing at his seat.
"I don't have an answer yet! I'll send you a file. Just read it," she said, and the two suddenly smiled.
"I'll send you Felicity's email address. Thank you, sis! You're the best! I’ll meet you later!" Quintin burst out after finally getting what they wanted.
"It's tempting! Just keep this a secret. When this information gets to her, I will sue you both. Is that clear?”
“Sure, sis. Don’t worry about that; she wouldn’t get to know,” Quintin assured.
In just a few minutes, an email arrived. Felicity checked on it immediately. Aside from the results, the two were also advised on how they could help Elyana recover as quickly as possible, and they promised to do that for their friend.
"Thanks for your help, Quintin," Felicity happily thanked the young man, who didn’t think that there was a hidden kindness that made him and Elyana get along.
"A favor for a favor," Quintin murmured.
"Yes, it is,” Felicity replied, and when he remembered the cost of the information they got, he suddenly felt concerned. "Let's split the price so that it won't be heavy for you," he suggested, referring to the trip he promised.
"No, it's okay. I'll take care of that," he insisted, smiling at the matchmaker. "By the way, I have to go now. I still need to go back to my office," he said after checking the time on his expensive watch.
“Okay. Thanks again for your help.”
“Anytime!”
While Quintin walked to the door, Felicity couldn’t take his eyes off him because the man walking away was somebody he didn’t expect him to be. He may have been a playboy before, but his heart for Elyana seemed pure. However, he told him that what was between them was all friendship.
Felicity shook his head in disbelief. He tried to erase his thoughts, and when Quintin was already gone, he took his phone and dialed his mother’s number to tell her what she found out while reading the files the doctor sent him.
"We better tell her parents about those," the heartbroken Eugene suggested.
"No, Ma! Much better if we don't. It's their right to know, but she won't be happy. They might come home unexpectedly, and Elyana will be more stressed than now,” Felicity disagreed.
“Then what to do? I honestly don’t know what to do now. Poor Elyana,” Eugene said.
“As always—like her second family, let's support and help her. "
"By how? She's sulking at us," Eugene asked in a low voice. She appeared helpless at that time. She was still hurting and felt sorry for what her sons had done to add to her misery.
"I already talked to someone. He promised to help us.”
“And who is this?”
“He’s Elyana’s new friend.”
“Can we trust him?”
“I guess so. We made a deal. I don’t think he would do something against it.”
"That's good, but—what can we do to make it up to him? I feel guilty," Euegens inquired, feeling depressed already.
"I don't have any plans yet, Ma. I'm still thinking."
"Alright, I'll think about it too. I'll tell your sister about your update and ask if she has something to suggest."
"Okay, Mom. Bye!"
When Felicity was done talking to his mother, he started working. He used all his remaining time on the files he needed to review and profiles to recheck. Around 5 p.m., he left his office and went straight to the Begum’s mansion.
"Hi, ma'am, beautiful!" one of the guards greeted him when he peeked through his car window.
Felicity raised his eyebrow and ignored what he said. He was still annoyed with them for what they did to him the first time they had encountered him. They even called him Bakla or gay in English while pulling me when they forced him to take him outside.
"Is your boss there?" he asked the guard.
"Yes, ma'am! Miss Elyana is inside,” the guard answered with his strange accent. He ordered his colleague to open the gate for him.
He parked his car and went straight inside the mansion. He met two of the maid at the entrance, whom he asked where he would find Elyana.
“I’ll go by myself. Thank you!” he told them when they were about to take him from where Elyana was.
He climbed upstairs with grace. One arm was raised where he was holding his expensive fashionable bag. He walked like a supermodel—unbothered, even though he wore a pair of heels.
The maid he left downstairs watched him go up.
"It's a shame for someone like him to be gay. Miss Felicity is a handsome guy," one of the regretful maids commented.
"I agree, but we have nothing to do about that," her companion replied.
Elyana didn't hear Felicity’s footsteps inside her room. She fell asleep when she got home that afternoon, and even though she was awake, she still stayed in his room, lying down with her eyes closed.
The door creaked. She got skeptical when she didn’t hear knocks. Elyana opened her eyes and turned to face the door. She assumed the maid would only bring washed clothes, but she was mistaken.
"Move, girl!" Felicity said as he approached the bed. Elyana was taken aback by the matchmaker's sudden appearance in her room and momentarily became speechless.
"Give some space!" he groaned as he sat in bed, his bag on the side table.
"Hey!" Elyana exclaimed as she moved away from the matchmaker.
"Don't be noisy, girl; I'm going to sleep," he grumbled.
"W-Well, you have a condo; why don't you sleep there?" Elyana couldn't hide the surprise in her voice.
"I don't want to sleep there," he replied, turning away from Elyana.
"Then move to the guest room!”
"I'm too lazy to walk, girl," he said, turning away from her with his eyes closed and pretending he would go there to sleep.
He just wanted to be with her. One of the doctor's advice was, 'Don't make her feel alone.'Download Novelah App
