Chapter 97
"It's only fair that I say I'm sorry... My actions were not okay. I understand if you can't forgive me because of this."
Lyca smiled and shook her head as she answered. "You are innocent because everything you did was for the village."
The former priestess let out a sigh, and her eyes showed that she was still sad. "If it wasn't for you, all of this would be gone... So it makes sense for you to lead-"
"No..." Lyca said quickly. She smiled as she held the priestess's hand. "I never intended to lead the village, and I know you already know that," he said.
"But the town needs you... Your power is amazing, and I have no doubt that you can lead us-"
"I'm sorry, but I won't change my mind. I won't stay in this village because I have a place of my own..." Lyca said this with confidence.
When the former priestess saw the determination in Lyca's eyes, she had no choice but to sign. "All right, I won't make you. But if you change your mind, you can always come back because the job will always be yours."
Lyca walked to where Xavier was after talking to the old priestess.
"It seems that the priestess is sad..." With a smile, Xavier said this.
Lyca gave him a shrug and a hug. She laughed and said, "I'm sure she was expecting that answer from me." "Where are Jaxson and Kai, by the way?"
Xavier's eyes lit up in shock. " Bloody hell! He said, "I forgot about them!"
"What did you do?" Lyca murmured and laughed.
"Don't even think about telling them that... "If they find out I forgot about them, I'm sure they'll be upset," Xavier replied. He then took Lyca's hand and pulled her along with him as he ran.
They went to where Jaxson and Kai were locked up in the back of the castle.
"These witches are a curse! How can they keep us here?"
"Jaxson, would you please stop talking?!" Since we got here, you haven't shut your mouth, and I'm getting mad!" Kai roared from where he was sitting.
Jaxson gave a snort. "How were you able to keep your cool in this situation? In the morning, they will kill us. And-"
When the door shut, Jaxson couldn't finish his sentence. Jaxson ran quickly behind Kai and hid because he thought these witches had come to kill them.
"We are doomed! They want to kill us!" Jaxson spoke in a hopeless way.
"Who are you going to kill?" As soon as the door opened, Lyca's smile was there.
"Little queen! Damn it! Why did you wait so long?! We are tortured by the witches, and they-" Jaxson couldn't finish his speech because he was about to cry.
"Jaxson, you look awful... As far as I can remember, they didn't touch you!" When Xavier saw how sad Jaxson looked, he frowned.
"No, they've never done that! But he keeps complaining as if they were torturing him!" Kai answered and shook his head.
"Shut up! "Everything is because of you!" Jaxson yelled at Lyca and Xavier as he ran up to them quickly.
"Ha ha ha, you two, enough... "Everything is taken care of, so we can leave," Xavier said, putting his arms around Jaxson to carry him out.
"Why not Crystal? Is she all right? Kai asked out of worry.
As she signed, Princess Lyca shook her head. "I don't know what happened to Crystal, but I'm sure that no one else in the village was hurt."
Kai nodded, but he still looked worried, so Lyca gave him a pat on the shoulder. "Don't worry, it's all good now... She also said, "I'll help you talk to the priestess."
"There's no need," Kai said with a sigh. "Crystal chose her grandmother, so there's nothing I can do but accept her choice."
"Crystal will choose her grandmother, of course... Why? Did you ask her to choose?" Lyca asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Her grandmother will never be okay with us being together, so I have no choice but to-"
"You're crazy... Her grandmother was the only family she had, so even though she loves you, Crystal will choose her grandmother," Lyca said.
"I know that, but we can't do anything else," Kai said as he signed.
Lyca let out a smile. "I think this night has made everything different... First, let's look for Crystal, and then we'll talk to her grandmother."
Kai looked all over the castle for Crystal, but he couldn't find her. So, the four of them went straight to the priestess. They found out what had happened to her, which shocked Kai.
"You don't know where Crystal is? "How could that be?" Kai asked as he clenched his hand into a fist.
She signed her name and shook her head. "I cast the spell, but where she went depended on what she was thinking."
"Have you tried to reach her?" Lyca asked while she thought about what was going on.
"I did. "But I didn't make it," the priestess said. She then turned to look at Kai. "But I know how to find her," he said.
Kai stared at the priestess. When she gave him the necklace, he asked, "What is this?"
"Since I can't leave the village, I have no choice but to give you the search." The priestess made this claim. "This necklace can help you find Crystal-"
"YOU TRUST ME TO FIND HER, EVEN THOUGH YOU KNOW I WON'T BE GIVING HER BACK TO YOU..." Kai said this while looking right at the priestess.
"I know that," the priestess said in a short way.
Kai snatched up the necklace. Then I'll look for her."
After Lyca's group talked to the Priestess, they went to the cave where Lyca's aunt Madison was. But they were surprised to find that she was no longer there. All that was left was a letter.
"Wow, princess, your aunt is really something. She didn't come to help us, and now she's gone without even saying goodbye!" Jaxson said, "That's crazy!"
Lyca smile. "Well, this is my family, and I'm happy with them. "I know my aunt will always take care of me," she said as she left the cave.
"Little princess, there's something you forgot..." As he followed Lyca and Xavier, Jaxson asked again.
"Hmm? Am I?" Lyca asked with a frown.
"She's your grandma! Have you forgotten about her?!"
Lyca smiled at Xavier and then looked at Jaxson. "My grandmother didn't like to be bothered, so I'd rather not say goodbye..."
The day came when Lyca and her friends had to leave the land of witches. The priestess led them to the castle's outside.
"Again, let me know if you need anything. Our land is ready to help..."
Lyca gave the priestess her hand. "Thank you, and I hope the village is at peace... Like I told you, my kingdom is right up your alley, and if you ever need help, you can count on us..."
The Lyca group went back to the kingdom of Greyfield after saying goodbye.Download Novelah App
