Veronica's Pov
I had to tell Bianca what Sammie had told me. Blake was at Greenville and the only person who could have an idea on where exactly he was at Greenville was the queen. I wasn't so used to the old fashioned town ,as I always heard it was filled with lots of traditional people, so I never wanted to visit it my whole life.
I knew the queen very well when it came to taking actions, she was one person Blake would never run away from if he happened to meet her. Blake always found it hard to turn her down and if he tried doing that ,it never ended well between them both as she was always very clingy.
So I walked into her chambers that afternoon while she was having her usually body massage from the palace masseuse, a tall dark lanky young man who had the best magical hands ever. Although I wasn't too sure why she liked him for the job since the palace had so many other female masseuses that were ready to attend to her and also had strong hands for the job.
She was the queen and I dated not question her actions in anyway. She got what she always wanted and all I could do was follow whatever she said if I could not convince her otherwise.
As soon as I worked into the room,which she was all alone with the masseuse, she lifted up her head , seeing me , she immediately signaled the masseuse to stop and leave the chambers as she believed that I had something important to talk about.
"What is the matter Veronica ? What brings you to my Chambers this hot afternoon, is Flora alright?", the queen asked.
" Flora is fine your Majesty, I'm here for something else", I replied.
I was glad that she was ready to give me some audience to speak to her and I knew that what I was doing was the right thing to do.
" I think I know the whereabouts of Blake,Your Majesty", I said and she immediately got up from where she laid. Quickly adjusting her robe which was hanged close by and getting rid of the white towel she tied to wear her robe properly.
"How did you know that and where do you think you he is?",she asked me with so much in inquisitive look in her eyes.
"Sammie told me that he saw him at Greenville, although I do not know what he is up to there ,but I believe maybe he was there on some personal duties since Greenville happens to be his own town ",I said.
"Even though Greenville happens to be his, he has never for one day gone there and I wonder why you think he was there on duty anyway. Well ,could it be because of the king ", Bianca replied.
"What do you mean because of the King?, the king is in the hospital right?", I asked.
She looked at me in a sort of way and I could sense that there was more to what she had just said.
" Of course the king is in the hospital ,but not here in New Orleans ,he is at Greenville. The council members suggested that he be taken there and examined properly to get the eyes of the people away from him. we do not want the people to panic when they hear that their King is only a vegetable and he has been in coma for the past two months now. This would instigate some need for a new king, and of course you and I know the condition with my son Blake".
"oh ! I see my queen I think that should be the reason why Blake went to Greenville, probably to be with his father the King ", I said.
"Yes, you are right. I believe so ,my mind never crossed towards that direction because I never knew Blake could go on such a distance to meet the king without letting any of us know about his plans to visit. But it's fine if that's where he is , I am quite sure that he would come back home after everything", She said.
" My queen , does this mean we won't have to make him return ourselves? Remember ever since the king became sick, Blake has been the one giving orders that concerned the country in his father's name, if we don't bring him back, he might spend a whole lots of time there and there won't be anyone to give orders,this would make the people suspect that something is wrong with his Majesty", I tried to explain.
I wanted her to join me and go after Blake, I knew very well that he was trying to get away from me and the palace as whole, and I wasn't going to give him that space, not until he makes me his wife and queen.
If he stayed away for long, he could have the right frame of mind to find himself a bride and I would be kicked out for good. The only reason I had a say here was because we both had a daughter ,Flora , she was my only strong hold in the palace and she loved me so much.
I wasn't going to let some other woman come in here and become a stepmother to my daughter. There was no way any woman was going to share the love my daughter had for me with her and also the love I had for Blake.
I needed the queen to go after Blake and not the response she was giving me now. I knew I needed to persuade her to get to see Blake ,so I thought of the best way to present the issue to her quickly.
" My queen, are you sure we wouldn't have to visit Greenville and be sure that the prince Is actually okay, I mean maybe he actually left the palace because he had something bothering him", I said.
" Come on Veronica, Blake isn't a baby, he knows his way around the country and this isn't his first time leaving the palace ,he will just be fine wherever he is and would return when he feels he is okay", she replied.
I was already boiling in so much range , but tried controlling it. This was absolutely not the reply I wanted from this woman, I expected her to help get Blake back from wherever he was hiding.
" My queen, I don't think we should let Blake be , from the way Sammie sounded I think we must head over to Greenville to see Blake, who knows maybe the King isn't stable", I said, although I knew that was one dreadful statement to make at that time, but I felt that was the only way to get her worried.
" What do you mean by that, did you hear anything about the King?", she asked and fear grabbed me instantly. Saying such a thing about the King when I knew very well that there was nothing like that , was a very risky statement.
" Uhmmm my Queen , I am only saying, maybe Blake left here because he heard something scary about the king's health. I might be wrong , but I think we should go over there and request that he meets us and tells us what the matter is", I quickly replied. I knew I had made a very smart move, there was no way Queen Bianca wouldn't want to visit he dear husband at this point.
I got a bit relaxed , thinking she was going to make the statement on our going,but I got a bit shocked when she reached out to her Smart phone.
" What are you doing my queen?", I asked with so much concern.
" Calling Doctor Dante, I'm sure if there was a problem,he would have let me know about it, but rather, let me do him the favor of calling instead . He would let me know of any problems", she replied.
What the hell is wrong with this woman, she always had her way of giving flimsy excuses.
" Okay my queen", I replied as I watched her dial his number , the phone kept ringing, but he wasn't picking up. She tried again several times , but he still couldn't pick.
I could notice the sudden change of look on her face, that look that suddenly depicts fear.
" Why is Dante not picking up my calls, come on Dante", she yelled.
" Please calm down Your Majesty, maybe he isn't with his phone right now, I am sure he would call back when he sees your calls", I tried calming her.
" Get dressed Veronica, we must head down to Greenville now, I think something might be going on there and Dante doesn't want me to know about it", She replied. Those words brought me so much happiness , knowing fully well that my plans were not failing at all.
" Okay my Queen, I'll just go change immediately", I said leaving her chambers happily
I got to Flora's courts ,she was already back from school and she saw me have a change of clothing.
" Are you going somewhere Mom?", she asked
" Yes my love, I am going out with your granny, we will be back soon", I replied.
" Are you going to see my father there?", she asked.
" Well, I think he would be there Flora".
" Really Mom! can I come with you please?".
" No baby you can't, you just returned from school and I am sure you must have had a very long day, you need to rest, eat and do your homework", I said.
" Hmmm.. But Mom, it's been four days since Dad left,I want to see him, please let me go with you, I promise to behave".
" I know you, you always behave so well Flora, we are going to bring your father back , so there is no need of you coming, remember your dad won't be happy if he discovers that you didn't do your homework ", I tried convincing her to stay.
" Okay mother, but please do ensure that father returns back home with you", she said.
" I will do just that", I replied pating her back and giving her some cute smile. Bianca was already calling me, and I could tell that she was already ready for the move to Greenville.
I quickly walked to the garage and joined her in her black SUV as the driver took off taking us to Greenville. all through the way the Queen kept calling latin dancing but he wasn't picking up I wasn't too sure why he didn't pick but whatever reason it was I was glad it was able to come through. at least because he wasn't able to pick his calls we would finally be going to Greenville to confirm if Blake was really there.
In about an hour's time , we were already at Greenville town. we headed to the hospital and at that point Queen Bianca had to call Blake on her cell phone. She immediately told him to come over to the hospital as we were already there to see the king, I could hear him arguing and asking her how we got to know that he was there but she ended up telling him that she only figured out that the only place he could have gone to was to the hospital where his father was.
As soon as we got to the hospital, we got to meet Doctor Dante who had just rushed out to met us on arrival. He immediately started rendering his apologies for not receiving her calls. he further explained that he was in the theatre at the point of her call I only got to see the calls as soon as I got out.
He was quite surprised to see you soon ask if the Queen had missed the king so much that she had to come on announce full stop the Queen replied and told him that although she misses her husband but the reason she had to come was because she kept her calling him and he wasn't picking. she had felt that something sad had happened and that was the reason why he avoided her calls so she had to rush down to get cleared on her own.
Doctor Dante was quite sorry that that has happened and promised that he would try as much as possible not to miss her call some other time. we headed into the ward where the king was admitted and there the queen got sobber looking at him, she tightened her hands to his hands crying and speaking to him ,although I wasn't too sure if he could hear anything first up she kept on telling him how much you loved him and how much he wanted him to recover and return back to the palace.
when she was done talking I was quite sure that the king was at a stable condition he then requested that we return back to New Orleans. I had to remind her that we had already called Black to come over and it would only be proper if we waited for him to arrive. she then decided that we wait a little soon I know how he was doing.
in no distant time, Blake arrived at the hospital I could see him from the window upstairs when he parked and rushed immediately into the building.
he immediately went straight to the queen returned her and planted a kiss on her hand why she hugged him and asked him how he was doing. he told her that he was doing well. she requested to know where he was lodging but he refused saying where it was and only ended up telling the Queen that he had come because she said it was urgent. his mother replied and told him that she was worried about the King and so she had to come down to know how you was doing.
Blake told her that the king was fine and that he had been checking up on him from time to time and only felt it was today in Greenville to get his head cleared off for some time before returning to the palace. I was so surprised to hear the Queen tell him to take all the time you needed before returning.
Blake was happy that for the first time his mother was buying into his own ideas he immediately told her that he was about living as he had other things to attend to. I wondered what you wanted to attend to since he wasn't even to use to Greenville but only came here for the first time to stay,to get his head cleared up.
As soon as he walked out of the room where the king was I excused myself from the Queen and went after him. I tried to persuade him to come back stating how much Flora missed him and how much you wanted him back to the palace. black only ended up telling me that he was going to return at his own time and that I shouldn't worry about Flora missing him as he was going to check up on her from time to time
I was so angry to hear those words of his how could you speak to me in such a manner it was quite very certain that he was avoiding me and I was the reason why he didn't want to come back to the palace at that time. I kept on pressing and him to come back and that was when he got angry and gave me some very shocking insults which I had never received.
In his words he asked if I had any other thing during in my own life then coming after him. I felt so stupid of his statements which he noted that I was so jobless and only had one goal in life which was coming after him and doing nothing else.
He threatened to deal with me if I pressed him any further to come back and asked that I left the palace and only visited when I was supposed to as initially stated. this got me so angry and they knew that Blake had gotten on my toes.
