Chapter 37
Part 37
ELLEANNA
"She's here already," The principal said and I sat down next to Ma'am Mechepel. She looked at me and her facial expression still doesn't change-- and serious. I looked at her for a moment and then avoided looking at him. Looking ahead I saw Brittany grin and I noticed well next to her where she looked like the lady next to her.
"So, I guess this was her parents," I said to myself as I watched the three of them. I feel nervous but I need to speak and tell them the truth to protect our teacher from this . . . This simply make this more irrelevant and made the situation worst.
"Elleanna?" the principal calling my name so I turned to her. She simply smiled at me but I decided to smile at her back.
"You're here today since I'm going to ask a few questions from you," he gently asked me and I nodded slowly and I wondered why he had to ask me in front of Brittany's parents.
Brittany's mother raised an eyebrow at me, I averted my eyes and ignored it then I turned my voice to the Principal, "O-okay ..." She smiled at me.
"Is it true?" She asked.
"Huh?"
"... is it true that they are bullying you?" Principal's question. I was stunned by his question and thought about what he said. I looked at Brittany and she widened her eyes at me. She seems to be telling me that she warns me if I say something to the principal that she won't like.
I turned my gaze to Ma'am Michepel who was also silent as she looked to the front where Britanny parents were. I can't see any emotion at her, she was black and couldn't tell what she feel in this moment. I gulped and trying to averted my gaze to Britanny's parent.
"Ahh ... Ehhh ..." I just said it and I didn't know what I should say to it. There's something stuck at my throat and couldn't manage to say even a single word.
"You see! Even she can't speak since she knows that my daughter is telling the truth. And that teacher is lying and she will use this woman ..." her face changed as she looked at me. I can see that she hates me. I just watched her and observed their movements even more.
"That's true mommy, I'm telling the truth. And her, she just wants to look superior to us fearing her," Brittany clings to her mother and begs it. I just looked at her and I remembered Mama again, we're not that close because I'm trying to distance myself from them because I'm disgusted with their dictates on my life.
We heard the man sneeze next to Brittany and I guess this was his Father. "That's not the case ... but we don't want to have this kind of teacher you are irresponsible to teach her students properly. She's scaring them and putting in trauma," he said.
My expression could not believe what he said but I remained calm and my annoyance with them began to grow. I looked again at Ma'am Michepel who to this day was still silent.
I didn't know what to do and I clenched my fist when I heard their accusations against ma'am Michepel. I want to speak because my throat is getting heavier at the same time it is also itching with the annoyance I feel with them.
"Mr. and Mrs. Hollex, we can't conclude what will happen if the said victim of bullying doesn't speak to their fellow students," the Principal defended but Brittany's mother just surrounded her.
"No that's not true," I said to myself as I looked at its mother.
"Elleanna?" the principal called my name.
I winced and turned my gaze to her. "Hmm?" I said.
She smiled, "Did they bullied you?" She asks and referring to my classmates-- especially the person who is in front of me.
I closed my eyes and lowered my hand again because I didn't know what to say about those things. I was hesitant about what my classmates would accuse me of. But on the other hand, I stared at the same time as I looked at my teacher Ma'am Michepel, for a moment I looked at her and nodded. I didn’t know what he wanted to convey and I was confused as to what I should say.
I heard Brittany's mother say, "See! She doesn't know what to say because my daughter can't-- or her classmates can bully this woman," she addresses me. I closed my eyes sharply at the same time as I sighed as I wanted to enlighten myself.
I looked up and nodded, looking at the Principal and Ma'am Michepel. "Why are you nodding?" The principal asked me. I looked at her and saw the astonishment on her face.
"T-they ... bullied me, but as the hand didn't," I told her.
Her eyes widened at what I said, I turned my gaze to Ma'am Michepel who was just looking at me and I could not fathom in her eyes what she was implying with the emotion she was showing. I smiled at him and let him know that everything will be alright.
"Nonsense!" Brittany's mother shouted so I looked at her. I was surprised and didn’t expect it.
"Mrs. Hollex, please calm down," the principal said to her. She still didn't move and looked bad at what she was throwing.
"How dare you! You're only a scholar here and you were able to be like that! Blasphemy!" Brittany's mother shouted and she was unmoved by the principal calming her down.
"Please, Mrs. Hollex, calm down," the Principal only told her.
Not only her but also her daughter Brittany has also joined him, Mom. "Yes! T-that's true! You're not embarrassed and that's how you act!" Brittany shouted at the same time as I pointed.
"Both of you, be quiet!" Mr. shouted. Hollex so the mother and daughter stopped screaming.Download Novelah App
