Chapter 25 OPEN SECRETS

Steven stared at him, he remembered that very day he and the others didn't see any children to kidnap. They were all adults. The two girls who were in the bus at that time had escaped from them narrowly. Even though, he had chased after them, he didn't catch up with them.
Jerry was a boy. How could he have known about the robbery. He wasn't there at the time of the incident. And the sister, who was she? Was she part of the victims?
"I should have known you were part of the robbers... You guys were the probably the ones back at the den. How could I have been so blind?" She shifted her gaze as she tried to run.
Steve seemed to have read her thoughts. He grabbed her and pulled her against him.
"Let me go! Let me go, you murderer!" She yelled.
"How do you know of.....," She hit his groin with the back of her heel as he held her.
Despite the pain that sprung through his body, he still wouldn't let her go. "Let me go!" She yelled again.
"You are behaving like a girl." He tried to cover her mouth.
Her teeth sank into his palm as she struggled on with him. She pushed him and started running. Steve pursued her, caught hold of her and pushed her to the floor then sat on her.
She screamed as he tried to pin her flapping hands. "Will you cooperate? I promise not to kill you!" He said to her.
Her eyes shone like wild fire. She still wouldn't keep still. But he was far stronger than her. In the process, he grabbed her shirt in anger and slapped her hard across her face.
She was far too stubborn to stop now. She didn't give up, that he noticed.
"Fight like a boy and stop being a sissy or a fish!" He yelled, picked her up and threw her hard against the hard floor.
She was dazed for a second. He still hasn't discovered her secret. She must continue the act and act like the boy she was. Steve afterall wasn't the gentle, easy going type, his true self have been revealed.
He was taught to hate and kill and that he might do to her.
With tears stinging her eyes, she stood up, feigning brave and courageous boy. "I'm not a sissy, murderer." She told him.
Then she attacked him, throwing fists his way but every punch of hers, he dodged. And he punched her instead.
This went on that Steve knew that Jerry acted more like a girl while they fight.
Dusk was coming and Jerry wouldn't give up, she bruises and scrapes all over her face down to the side of her neck.
Finally, he had to put an end to this. In anger, he threw her to the floor. Her head hit it so badly that she remained unconscious for a while.
Jerry didn't do anything to revive her. He waited patiently for Jerry to stand. Minutes past, Steve was forced to stand up, turn Jerry over and watched his pulse.
His first thought was to kill Jerry right there but instincts told him to treat him. He knew a hidden garden that he and his friends were using as an hide out whenever they passed this direction. He pulled Jerry by his feet and began to drag her there.
In frustration, Steve took off his own shirt and other clothing. He was going to bathe Jerry to revive him. Then he went for Jerry's shirt and took it off roughly.
His eyes went straight to her bossom. Was he seeing double? Who the hell was Jerry? He knew that he didn't know much about girls cause he had never liked them.
But looking down at Jerry, he must have been a fool not to have known that Jerry was a girl. She was the sister to the lost sister she was looking for.
But thinking that he fought with a girl amused him greatly. He had never fought with such a stubborn girl before. She wasn't one to easily give up. He stared down at her again and thought of what to do.
He didn't even want to touch her, he left her the way she was and placed her shirt by her side.
When Jemaima stirred, Steve was dressing, he must have showered. He was staring intently at her as she looked back at him in surprise. She isn't have thought he would kill her.
"You know I hate girls. Why did you conceal it?" He asked her.
Jemaima looked down at herself. Her hands flew up to cover her chest. She was wearing a greyish bandage round her chest to conceal her budding breasts.
"I have never seen a girl dressed that way before." He said as he walked over to hovwer over her.
"Why didn't you kill me?" She asked him.
"Why didn't I kill you?" He asked himself. "I never thought you were a girl. I'm surprised. If I dress up in a girl's presence the girl must definitely fall for me but you.....you didn't even give a fuck." He looked away as he tried to sit beside her.
"Why?" He asked her.
"You said you hate girls then why are you still keeping me around you?"
"I don't know." He met her gaze.
He stood up and his eyes never left hers. She was different from most girls he had ever met. He could have sworn that she was a boy.
"Go and take your bathe. After that, we talk." He said to her.
"Won't you kill me?" She asked him.
He scoffed at that. "You haven't done me any wrong, Jerry. We will talk after you bathe."
"I wasn't expecting that from someone like you."
"What were you expecting?" He looked down at her.
He was a killer and she knew he must ght plan to kill her. If not now, maybe, in the future.
"Where is the water?" She asked him.
"Down that aisle," he said. "We will talk as we eat." She watched him as he walked away.
