Steve heard thumpings as he stood in front of the dark room. He intently knew that Jerry won't be able to fight off the guy for long Next he heard slaps and swear words, he pulled at the door. It was locked. How would he get into the dark room? He must save Jerry. The only way in was the secret back door, he glanced around. ***** "Let me go!" The shill voice of Jerry broke out. "I won't lassy!" A guy responded. Jemaima yelled as she went for the door half naked, all her courage all gone. God! Where was Steve? What would happen to her? Her head shrieked. Josh stood behind her, pulling her to swirl round to him. She held on to the door knob tightly, her eyes caught hold of a sharp edged rod. Swiftly, her hand picked it up and she twirled to strike him. She froze at once when the hinges of the back door broke off and someone rushed in, it was Steve. He didn't shout, didn't say anything. His aura only spoke for him. He just struted in like a lord. Josh turned and stepped forward. A huge smile broke on his face. "I know you," Josh said. "Hell, you do Josh." Josh laughed at that. Then turned around to look at Jemaima. "What does she have to do with you?" "I won't say much. Just leave before we shed some blood." "Ha," Josh paused looking back at Steve. "I'd forgotten that they'd taught you that too." He told Steve. Steve said nothing. "But, I saw her first. Can't we look past this? Afterall, you aren't any different from me." Steve scoffed at that. "You already know what my answer to that would be." "Hell, you were never like this. What happened to you?" Josh asked him. Steve grinned at that and walked down to meet his once upon a time friend. "You're still the same. You never change, you are interested in any girl in skirt..only this time, this girl isn't in a skirt. You might get killed one day like my brother." Steve warned. "I'm not your brother." Josh chuckled at that. "Sure, you aren't." "I can have her.. I found her first." Josh repeated. "Lay a finger on her and I promise, and I will kill you." Steve's eyes ran red. Josh laughed, bit his lower lip, took one lazy look at Steve then went for Jemaima. Steve brought out his dagger from behind his trousers. When Josh saw it, he stepped back. He mumbled a curse word. Shot one look at Jemaima then left the room in anger. The room was quiet when Josh left except from the loud music from the speaker across the field. Steve turned to Jemaima who squatted low in a far corner trying to cover her chest. "Stand." He said to her. She didn't, instead she turned her face aside. Steve took off his shirt and covered her with it then he started for the door. He heard the rustling of his shirt on her body. Then, he felt her walking towards him. He didn't turn to look at her. They both walked on in silence to a room where they both shared which was close to the restaurant. "Josh was your friend, right?" Jerry asked him. Steve ignored her. He was trying hard not to explode. One of his fists was clenched tightly. "I'm sorry," She paused, "I'm sorry I spoke rudely to you earlier on." She apologized. He turned to look at her finally. "I'm sorry and thank you." "Josh is the type to ridicule bold and proud girls." Steve told her. "Proud?" Her brows rose in question. "You are like that." He said. "Is that what you think of me?" She asked him. He merely gave a sad look. "Then what was your relationship with Josh?" She asked him to which he gave no response. "Your brother's death.....," "Who cares!" Steve bursted out that she startled. "Who cares!!" He repeated. "My brother lives his best but some stupid girl like you ruined him. He would have been alive now!" His voice shook the room. Jemaima watched him as he cursed and ranted. "I guess I'm at fault here." She said calmly. "Sure. You are one hell of a courageous girl." He mocked as his eyes skirted down her body. "I'm sorry about your brother's death." She said in an apologetic tone. "He's dead and gone! What are the apologies for?" "Can't you just simply accept my condolences?" She yelled, angered by his words. "You are the same. All girls are the same. Whores, prostitutes and the likes of them. There are no differences." He said to her face. "I'm not a whore. You can't call me that!" She snapped. "Why can't I?" His eyes were bloodshot. "Cause I'm not that sort of girl." "Really?" He laughed. He knew deep down that she wasn't that kind of girl yet it irked him that she was a girl. "I've known girls all along and they have never changed. They are all the same, whores, harlots and gold diggers!" She stared at him, stupefied at his words. He was only saying all these to her all cause a girl killed his brother. She looked away having known he had hurt her. She held back angered tears that threatened her eyes. She began to walk out of the room. "Where are you going?" He asked her. "Why do you care?" He went to her and turned her to face him, she was crying already. He couldn't touch her, he just stood there speechless. He had hurt her and it never occurred to him that she would break down to his words. He had thought that would retaliate word for word, or either hit him. She had a soft heart for him for she was a girl that wasn't prone to tears. "I'm....so..sorry." he shuttered. But she raced out to the dark under the constellation of the stars.
