Chapter 68

Rylie's POV
Over the coming days, Blake and I made sure to keep an eye on Asher and Kristen. After my conversation with him, he'd stopped bothering me but kept appearing on set where he was usually found with Kristen.
Needless to say, I was very suspicious about the whole thing. Whatever they were up to especially with Kristen involved couldn't be good.
Christmas drew near and despite all my sleuthing, I still had found nothing about what Asher and Kristen were up to.
"Ugh! This is soo frustrating," I groaned as I flopped on a couch in my dressing room after a long day on set and a fruitless search of Kristen's room. "I mean it's obvious that she's up to something but what exactly is it?"
"Beats me but Rylie?"
"Huh?"
"Don't you think you're obsessing about this just a little?" he ventured.
"What do you mean ‘obsessing’?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"I mean, you've been so focused on finding out what Kristen's up to lately. Don't you think it's time to let it go?"
"Let it go? Blake, she's your disgruntled ex who's still into you meeting up with my disgruntled ex who's also still into me. Of course I can't let it go! Who knows what they're up to?" I exclaimed, throwing my hands up.
"I don't know, Rylie. I mean, it's Kristen. Knowing her, she's probably hooking up with Asher and is flaunting it in front of you to get a reaction... kind of like the one you're having right now," he pointed out.
I was about to refute his claim but on a second thought, it suddenly occured to me that he was probably right. I leaned back and touched my chin in thought.
"You know, you're probably right," I chuckled after reflecting for a while.
"Yeah, I know," he winked smugly. "Besides Christmas is in a few days. Our first holiday as a couple."
"Yeah. I know," I smiled at the thought. Seeing my smile, Blake got up from his chair and walked over to me. "With all the time you've been giving to this whole Kristen thing, I think you owe me."
"Oh really? What would you like then?" I drawled, a smirk playing at my lips.
"I think you know," he replied, leaning in. I smirked, grabbed him by his collar and pulled him down to sit by me on the couch then I turned over and straddled him. "So I suppose you want me to kiss you now."
He didn't respond. Instead he grabbed my chin and met my lips in a smoldering kiss that literally took my breath away. I wrapped my arms around his neck, straddled him even more and kissed him back with equal force.
Breaking our kiss, Blake moved down and peppered my neck with small but sweet kisses. Holding back a moan, I bit my lips and let my head fall back as I surrendered to his touch. My insides felt hot and my core tingled with pleasure.
Blake had just placed me on the chair and was about going for another kiss when a knock at the door caused us to pull apart.
"Come in," I called hoarsely, a little disappointed that our moment had been cut short. The door opened in and Lucas, the director walked in.
"Hey Rylie- and Blake... Is this a bad time?" he queried after examining our appearance. After all, Blake's shirt was unbuttoned, my hair was messy and my lips were probably a bit swollen, all clear signs that he'd interrupted something.
"It was," Blake grumbled in response to his question. I shot him a quick glare before looking back at Lucas. "No it's okay, Lucas. What did you want to talk about?"
"Well it's nothing big but I have been noticing your performance so far and I honestly think you have a shot at this acting thing so I recommended you to a friend of mine who's making plans to shoot a movie in the summer."
"Oh my gosh! Really?" I squealed in excitement.
"Yeah. I mean nothing is final yet and you still have to audition which won't be easy since this guy is a pretty popular director and you'll have to contest with other popular actors. But once this movie is released, you'll definitely catch his eyes and those of many others," he wrapped up.
"Wow Lucas! I really have no idea what to say. Thank you so much!!"
"Like I said, nothing is final," he reiterated.
"I know I know but I'm still honored that you recommended me."
"You're a good actor and you're definitely going places. I'll be on my way then. That one over there looks like he's set to murder me if I don't leave." He gestured at Blake and turned to leave only to stop at say to Blake, "Nice one."
I was a bit lost at what he meant and turned to Blake with a confused expression.
"What did he mean, Blake?" I quizzed.
"You should probably check your neck," he responded sheepishly. Still confused, I got up and walked over to the mirror and on examining my neck, sure enough, there was a red mark on the left side of my neck. He'd given me a hickey!
"Blake!" I gasped with a mortified look. "How exactly am I supposed to sneak this past my parents?!"
"Your hair's long enough. It'll cover it," he shrugged like it didn't matter.
"Yeah. But still!" I whined, stamping my feet on the ground. Approaching me from behind, Blake placed his hand on my shoulders and whispered into my left ear, "You're mine, Rylie and this mark is just to show that you belong to me. There's nothing wrong with marking my possession, is there?"
Each word he whispered sent a shiver down my spine and even though he wasn't exactly touching me, I struggled not to moan. Seeing my reaction, Blake smirked and began to kiss my neck again while I looked on in the mirror.
I wanted to stop him and remind him that we needed to go home but after he kissed a soft spot on my neck, it was as though I lost all sense of reasoning. So I gave up on trying to stop him, closed my eyes and gave in to him.
***
It was two days to Christmas and Olivia and I were hanging out at in my room, just catching up.
"I still find it hard to believe that you're actually in a movie. Who would have thought it?" she mumbled after I told her about what Lucas told me.
"I know. It still surprises me sometimes when I think about it," I chuckled in agreement.
"You're getting me front row tickets right?" She fixed a daring look and I laughed. "I'm sure that could be arranged."
"It better be. After all, what's the use of having a movie star friend if you can't get free front row tickets out of them?" she smirked at me and I rolled my eyes at her.
At that moment, Olivia's phone rang and after she smiled on seeing who it was, I smiled and poked her with my toe. "Lemme guess, your boyfriend?" I sang teasingly.
"Yes, it is. Now shut up!" She glared at me playfully before picking the call. Their conversation was brief but the smile on her face was constant and she eventually hung up after giggling for like the umpteenth time.
"That was a short conversation. What did he want?"
"Nothing much. He just wanted to confirm what time to pick me up for the party tonight," she responded and shrugged.
"What party? And why am I just learning about it?"
"You don't know? I thought I told you. Oh well, it's a party at Logan's. You know, the one the football team always holds before Christmas?" she reminded me.
"Oh right! I don't think I can go though."
"Why not? Is it because of Asher?" she asked, sitting up.
"Yeah. Kinda." I didn't tell her that part of my reason for not wanting to go was because of Logan himself.
"Well that's dumb," Olivia rolled her eyes.
"Why do you say that?"
"Well you're with Blake now which means you're over Asher right?"
"Well duh!"
"Okay then so why exactly would you not want to attend a party just because he's gonna be there? Unless of course you're not over him?" She leaned in in a conspiratorial manner.
"I already said I was, Liv," I groaned.
"In that case, you're coming to the the party."
While Olivia fussed over what I was going to wear, I sat back in bed thinking about the party. Olivia was right about Asher not being a good enough not to go to the party. Besides, the party could give me an opportunity to confront Asher on what he had planned and I had Blake with me so Logan wasn't going to be a problem.
With that in mind, I got prepared for the party.

My favorite part is when Rylie and Blake were dating again, of course! My favorite character was the first director that handled Rylies’ first movie, hahaha! Thanks to him Rylie had her confidence up high! The saddest part was the death of Grandma Nellie. I hate Logan, a pervert idiot never deserves to be free from jail again.😏 The ending? Stop it, Rylie and Blake really needs to be the godmother and godfather of Nellie, hahaha. All over, I was fanning crazy about this novel!♡
