And now, Danica looked toward the banquet hall and ensured that no one was looking at them. She then grabbed Bethany's wrist and said, “Quickly, you should leave right now, You are not supposed to be in a place like this”.
She tried to push Bethany out of the place with force as her face was painted with anger. Despite being dressed like an assistant that night, Bethany still looks more beautiful, and outstanding than the other woman, anyone who saw her that moment would be instantly glued to her delicate and exquisite figure.
If Bethany was to continue being at this party, she might end up losing face, that's what she thought, however, she didn't know that there were more surprises for her tonight.
She thought that if this woman were to appear before Zayn, then it might trigger his interest in women; Zayn has always appreciated women with delicate features and natural beauty –Which might be the reason why he had fallen for Giselle in the first place. While, on the other hand, Danica was always in heavy makeup and expensive dresses, one could hardly get to see her real face –That's if she had one, to begin with.
The woman standing before her looks exactly like the kind of woman, Zayn would likely get entangled with if given a chance. Due to that fact, her hatred for the other woman grew rapidly, and she only wanted to have her kicked out of the banquet hall at once before the arrival of Zayn.
If she's not able to do so, then all of her efforts to separate Zayn from Giselle five years ago would be in vain as another woman would likely take her place.
It would be useless having spent so much time and effort back then. The more Danica thought about it, the more she felt gripped by sudden fear.
“I will not leave here”.
Bethany said with a firm voice as she glared at the woman. She had successfully read her mind and already knew why she was acting that way.
She yanked her hand away from Danica's grip and crossed them around her chest, as she questioned the woman disdainfully.“What should I leave? Are you afraid, I might spill the little dirty beans about you or you're scared of being seconded?”
Her tone was sarcastic as she said these words, then she rolled her eyes disgruntledly. Upon hearing her words of mockery, Danica was infuriated, however, she maintained her calm expression as she tried to grab the other woman's hand once again.
However, she hadn't expected the woman would be so fierce. Bethany pushed Danica off her grip with a swift movement. in a counter move, she grabbed Danica's hand, and with a twist, Danica was swung to her front as her mouth was left open in shock.
“Why do I get the feeling that you are afraid of me being here? ” Bethany whispered in her ears, even though, Bethany had suppressed her voice, her cold sent shivers of fear down her spine, and caused Danica to tense up immediately.
Danica quickly loosened the tight grip on her hand, then she adjusted her expression before denying, “No, I'm not. why would I ?” She said lowering her eyes.“How ridiculous of you to think that you're capable of frightening me” Although Danica had said these words with so much confidence, she felt unsettled within her.
Even though this woman standing right in front of her was not worth being a rival to her, she was still afraid since the woman looks even much more beautiful than Giselle was, What's more, the woman looks like she had so many motives to cook up in her sleeves as she was never afraid to talk back to her.
She appeared in their lives with a perfect scheme.
This woman here seems more like a threat to her than Giselle was five years ago, At the very least, Giselle never dared to talk back to her not go against her in front of others, however, this woman was different as she was always putting her down in public.
She couldn't place a finger as t why she was feeling this way about this woman, she just has her doubts n, and and now after hearing what the woman said, it wasas obvious.
Bethany could see that Danica was lying but at the same time, she was unable to figure out why she would be so scared by her presence when they had gotten together a few years.
Bethany looked around and noticed that the banquet had now begun at full length, then she remembered that she had something else to do, so she quickly turned toward the banquet hall. However, Danica stomped her feet angrily when she saw Bethany walking into the hall.
“Miss Medina, why are you still here? The banquet is about to start anytime soon”
Marianne Downey suddenly asked from behind.
“I came out for some fresh air, I'm about to go back in just now”.
Danica smiled as she turned around to see Maria standing behind her.
When she saw her standing there, her eyes suddenly fell on the beautiful diamond necklace around Marianne's neck, which was valued at 2 million dollars
Suddenly, Danica had a glimmer of an idea on how to deal with Bethany.
After all of this, who would want to get themselves associated with such a petty person? nobody, and certainly not Zayn.
The public welfare charity began at exactly 8:30 pm. under the direction of the emcee, everyone gathered at the main event hall.
On the surface, the event appears to be a charity drive, but the truth is, it was the Downeys' way of selecting a partner for a certain project.
That was the reason why many of these hopeful bunch of, businessmen and women were all jostling each other for a prominent position.
Only Erica stops aside as constructed by Bethany since their main of coming to the event was not to jostle along with others.
She only came tonight for a different reason.
It was mid-way through the charity drive and the Downey we're still nowhere to be seen.
Erica guessed that maybe only the top donor for the bight would have a chance to meet Downeys, so she just took a sip from a glass of wine.
Meanwhile, Bethany, who was standing beside her, suddenly bit her lower lips as she thought about things that were going to turn out tonight since the target was not in sight as yet. As she pondered about it, she did not realize that a waiter, who was walking around with a serving tray was behind her.

Bethany took a step back and suddenly bumped into the waiter. Thank Goodness, the year was empty and did not cause too much ruckus.
However, as Bethany was protecting the present in her hands, she fumbled and dropped her purse, “I'm so sorry, Miss”
She apologized while trying to help her out with the glasses.
Bethany looked at the waiter who was a teenager and did not appear to have done it on purpose so she quickly said, “it's okay”.
After saying that, Bethany walked toward the restroom and forgot all about the purse she gases dropped earlier.
Danica, who had been observing everything from a close distance quickly came forward after Bethany left. She quickly picked up the purse and then, looked around when no one was looking in her direction, she quickly stuffed a diamond-studded necklace into the purse.
soon after, she nonchalantly tossed the purse onto the floor. After her sly actions, she quickly went back to her hiding spot away from anyone's sight as she waited for Bethany to emerge.
Bethany came out of the restroom and realized that she was missing her purse, then it occurred to her that she might have dropped her purse during her encounter with the waiter from earlier. She went back to the spot to look for it, and as expected, her purse was lying on the floor.
