By 7:00 pm, Erica and Jenna sat at the table having breakfast, just then Bethany came descending the stairs with her hands on the railings.
“Good morning baby”
She planted a kiss on Jenna's cheeks as soon as she step into the dining area.
Jenna merely raised her brows and nodded her head excitedly.
“You seem very happy today, what's up with you?”
She asked before taking a seat across from her. Then, she fixed her eyes expectantly at Jenna waiting to fit her response.
She took a napkin and quickly wiped her mouth before raising her eyes to reply.“ Godmother said that you're planning to get me enrolled in a new kindergarten ”.
She replied sounding excited as she hopped around.
Bethany seemed like she wasn't excited as well as she simply clutched her hands together, then she said.“ Oh is that so? I thought you didn't want to go to school anymore since you've refused to say anything about it ”.
Bethany stared at her nails as soon as she finished saying these words.
Shocked, Jenna quickly dropped her cutlery and stared wildly at Bethany.“What are you going on about, Miss Burnett. have you ever thought of getting me enrolled in a school again? Moreover, it's your fault that I'm spending the first year at home. Now, are you trying to pin the blame on me? wow, blame games, huh?”.
Jenna crossed her arms around her chest and looked very annoyed as she glared at her mother angrily.
Bethany stroked her hair gently, and she played a flip of her hair as she watched the little girl. She looked like she was enjoying the drama.
After looking at the frowning little girl for a couple of minutes, she planned her come back and was about to say something when Sandra walked in and interrupted them.
“Good morning, Miss Burnett ”.
Sandra interrupted and went over to Bethany, then she handed her an invitation card.
“This is the invitation card to Mr. Downey's banquet. I got this invitation after so much difficulty. Don't forget to attend it next week Friday. Please don't bunk it as you did with the dinner party, this is your chance”.
After handing her the invitation card, Sandra went over and took a test close to Jenna, then she put some food on a plate and start devouring it without waiting for invitations.
Bethany held on to the invitation card and pondered for a couple of minutes, trying to Remember who Mr. Downey was. He was the chairman of the commercial association, he was a friend of Zachary Hunter.
Jenna stopped eating and focus her gaze on Sandra who didn't bother to look her way, after a while, Sandra raised her brows, and her gaze fell on Jenna, who was staring at her intently.
“Do you want some sour fish?”
Sandra asked as soon as her eyes came in contact with Jenna's.
Jenna pursed her lips, then tilted her head and said.“Why would I need you to offer me some sour fish? if I want one I would take it myself, just like you did, right?"
Sandra's face was flushed with embarrassment when she heard what Jenna said, she quickly overlooked it and finished her meal, then she stood up.
Suddenly, Bethany stood up and Erica stood up as well.
Bethany curled her lips and uttered gently. It's almost time”.
Erica nodded her head.

It was the day of the banquet. The location of the banquet was Downey's wines. since it was a time party, this is the perfect location.
Most of the guests were from the upper class and elite society in Bay City.
After Bethany made arrangements for taking care of Jenna, she left on time for the banquet along with Erica.
This evening, she was wearing a gown that she bought from the shopping mall a few days back, the gown looks quite a low price, but it complimented her delicate and beautiful figure.
Erica, on the other hand, was wearing an exquisite gown that was socially designed by Bethany. It was the famous Pearl collection cheongsam. The unique part of this design was the diamond-studded on each side of the fishtail.
The material was a mixture of blue and silver, which makes her completion appearance fairer and clean– she looks like those boss ladies that just came back after a long time away.
Her long, black wavy hair was styled and fell on her shoulders. Her thin, slim waist but shapely body brought out the best in the dress. Coupled with her smile, it would be an elegant and dignified combination.
Erica kept staring at herself in the mirror after Bethany helped her dress up–dressing up like this was not just for fancy reasons but for a purpose, however, she couldn't help but admire how beautiful she looks right now.
She looks like she was an alien on an arrival.
However, Bethany wore a straight face after helping her dress up.
“Bethany, I can't believe I look so beautiful you helped me dress up. Hope a gentleman is going to fall prey to my charm, huh!”
She is teased as she looks shoulders with Bethany.
“Well, that's what I want in the first place. I want all the attention to be on you tonight”.
“But why me? Why have you decided to make me the center of attraction, and not you, Bethany?”
Bethany knitted her brows slightly as she stared wildly at Erica, upon seeing her dark gaze Erica shut her mouth.
“Did you have amnesia?”

The guests at the banquet were intermingling among themselves at the event hall. Just then, Erica walked in, followed by Bethany who was dressed like an assistant.
Erica's entrance caught the attention of other guests at the party, as a good number of them mumbled amongst themselves as soon as they laid their eyes on her.
“Who is this person? why haven't we seen her before in the sphere? ”
“This person must important to be able to attend Mr. Downey's event”.
“She's the most beautiful woman I have seen in all of my life” life”
“She has the looks and body of a supermodel”.
“Wow, she is a hooker. Her shape and looks are comparable to that of some celebrities ”.
Bethany smiled inwardly as soon as these comments got to her ears. She calmly picked up a glass of wine and handed it over to Erica, when the waiter offered it to them.
“What are you doing, Bethany. you're making me nervous”.
Erica whispered silently as she take the glass of wine from her hand, then she flashed a smile at some guests.
“I'm your assistant, so I'm supposed to be serving you, right? So keep calm and enjoy your time”.
Bethany whispered back while moving closer to her.
“If you say so, then get me more drinks”.
Erica said in a low tone. upon hearing her words, Bethany's gaze darkened and she raised her knitted brows to look at her, Erica quickly waved it aside with a smile, as she said.“Come on, don't be like that. I was just kidding ”.
Bethany quickly adjusted her expression as she smiled at the onlookers, whose gazes had remained fixed on Erica the whole time they were conversing.
After this, Erica walked up to a table, and then she stylishly took a sip from her glass while her eyes darted around as if she was searching for someone.
While Bethany stood in a corner. Her mind darted around into the world of wilderness. Ever since she left this place, five years ago, she made up her mind that if she ever survive the situation she was in back then, she wasn't going to allow herself to be sidelined again.
After leaving this place, she had seldom attended such events as she was busy with a lot of things–since many things needed to be put in order.
After such a long absence from occasions like this, she now felt nervous and uneasy about being in a crowd like this. However, this is just the beginning.
It took a while after they arrived before the banquet finally kick-started in full.
After staring at the corner for a couple of minutes, Bethany walked out into the balcony for some fresh air, while waiting for their target.
At that time, she suddenly felt the urge to put a call across to Sandra to inquire about Jenna.
As soon as she brought out her phone to make the call, she heard someone yell from behind.
“It's you again?”.
Someone shouted as soon as she placed the phone against her ear.
Unexpectedly, the person who called out to her from the other side of the hall was none other than Danica.
Bethany paused in her tracks and turn her face to see Danica standing there in all of her glory.
She was wearing an exquisite long, blue gown with an open neckline; a sparkling diamond neckline circled her neck, and she held a purse of the same color. Her makeup was heavily applied, and her red lipstick made her look different from the rest of the crowd.
Bethany frowned slightly. Although she was also expecting her to be here in the first place–Danica always enjoys having people's attention on her, and this is also an opportunity to rub her relationship with Zayn in other people's faces.
Bethany knitted her brows in disgust as she was angry at the fact that she has bumped into Danica twice, in just a month since she returned to the country.
Bethany stood fixed on the spot without making a move, she didn't seem to care about the other woman.
Danica quickly walked toward her with an anxious expression, her face was crushed into a grimace.
But noticing the location and the caliber of people, she calmed down and asked in a soft voice, “What are you doing here?”.
Danica thought that she had made a mistake the first time, but no, she wasn't wrong at all. That woman was here after she had humiliated her back then.
Bethany crossed her arms and said. “Isn't it obvious that I'm here for the banquet? ” She chuckled after saying this.“Or are you blind not to see that?”.
Danica felt annoyed at her remarks but clenched her fists silently instead.“How could that be true? who invited a wretched pauper like you to an exquisite event like this? Are you making a fool out of me? What am I even saying? You must have wooled your way into this place”.
Danica refused to believe that Bethany could get an invitation to a luxurious place like the Downey wines because this is one of the most expensive locations in the whole city.
Not only that, Bethany was not well dressed enough for someone who's invited to a nas as rich as this, so she had her doubts and she was willing to prove it.
How could someone like this woman, who had no social status come to such a place?
“Miss, you shouldn't worry about me or why I'm here, should you?”.
Bethany said with a smirk on her face as she tried to tease the other woman. Danica's expression stiffened as soon as she heard the woman telling her these words, she was so furious that she wanted to pull her eyes out and feed them to the birds, but unfortunately, she would only be getting herself in more trouble if she did that right here.
I can't let this woman get away every time. I need to do something to make her pay for humiliating me.
