"She should be here a while back, it was just a minute from there." her dad said.
They were very worried until their home phone rang.
"Yes?" her dad answered.
"Is this Langston Hendrix?" from the phone asked.
He didn't know but he was starting to feel numb.
"Yes." he said.
"You need to come here immediately to the hospital. Your daughter was just and hit by a car." the staff said.
Langston let's go of the phone and he started to feel numb. Tina was very curious what happened.
"What happened?" she asks.
He was just staring at her.
"Honey!" she said.
They rushed into the hospital, no one dares to talk inside the car. Tina even called Ivy and Ivy was very worried.
"Aunty." she cried and hugs her.
Langston was numb and he doesn't know what to do.
"Please, get my daughter out from danger." he whispered.
They were outside, waiting for the doctor to come out from the emergency room. There, one of the witness came near them.
"She was walking at the road towards the cake shop, but a car just hits her and the driver didn't mind to stop." he said.
Langston tightened his grip to his sleeve.
"Thank you for helping our daughter." Tina told him.
Ivy was very nervous.
"Please, make her and her baby safe." she whispered.
She called Zeke and they didn't know that he would tag along Ash but Ash has no idea what's happening. Ezekiel just grabs his hand. Zeke and Ash saw them outside the emergency room.
"What the fuck are you doing here?!" Ivy shouted at Ash.
"Ivy, calmed down. I took him with me." Zeke said.
"You're not supposed to be here." Ivy said.
"Ivy, stop." a masculine voice said.
It was Ivanna's father. Ash was very puzzled, he doesn't know what's happening.
"Can someone tell me what's happening?" he asked.
he was very curious and nervous.
"Really? My best friend is in that room and she's urging to fight for her life and her baby! She just got hit and I know your fucking girl friend has to do with these! Where is she?!" Ivy shouted at him.
Ash went mute, he was very speechless. Ezekiel holds Ivy and they went at the corner. Tina was crying and praying. Langston went near him.
"If what Ivy said was true, If your ex has to do something with my daughter's accident. Tell her to hide if she doesn't want to end up in jail." Ivanna's father said so serious and firmly.
Ash was shivering.
"Is she pregnant?" he asked.
Langston wanted to slap him but he controlled his feelings and emotions.
"My daughter, your wife is pregnant and it is your baby. If something had happened to her nor her baby, I'm going to hire many investigators and agents to seek justice." he said.
Ash understands him. As Ivanna's father, he was very protective and he really loves his daughter.
"Ash, I knew that she left you but why. Why didn't you even let her to stay and even call her? If she's okay or not. You're her husband and I know that us, your parents had to do with these because we forced you to get married." Langston said.
Ash didn't know but a tear rolled down from his eyes. Langston saw it and he was alerted that he loves his daughter and that he cares for her.
"I know you love and care for her but you can't just admit it." he said.
Ash was left dumbfounded. Langston went to comfort his wife.
"Honey, I know they're going to be okay. Our daughter's strong right." he told her.
Tina sobs hardly and hugs him. After a minute, the doctor went out with many blood stains at his attire. they all went near him and waited for the result.
"I am very proud to say that your daughter had done a great job. She succeed the operation and she and her baby is safe. Her baby holds so tight with her mother, and it was very touching. Most of some pregnant women who were being hit by car loses their baby but with her, she's one of the legend." the doctor said.
They all smiled and they were all relieved.
"But, your daughter is in a coma right now. We can't tell if when is she going to open her eyes but let's wait. Important thing is that they are both safe." the doctor said.
Ivy gasped and hugs Zeke. Tina hugs her husband. Ash was very hurt, he doesn't know what to do. He felt so guilty, Zeke went near him.
"I know it's so shocking but we should be grateful that they were safe." he told him.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know she is pregnant." he said.
Zeke was hurt to see his best friend crying. He hugs him so tight. Ivanna's father, being persistent to know the truth. He called and hired a some police and investigators to find out happened to their daughter.
"Sir, we had checked the CCTV and we think that the driver really planned to hit her, as we watched the footage. The car was just behind her, following her." the head police said.
Ash started to think.
"Can I see the car of the suspect?" he asked.
The police handed him a copy of the picture and started to scan it. Ezekiel and Ash's eyes went wide, that is Andrea's old car she usually used to drive before.
"And we had checked the the plate number, it wasn't registered. I think it was a junk car." the police added.
Langston and Tina holds each others hand.
"So, the suspect really planned to hit our daughter?" he asked.
"Yes, that's what we have suspected.
Ash and Ezekiel stared at each other and Ivy saw how they look in each other's eyes. The police had left to continue investigating.
"I will not let her pass through my hands." Ash said.
