ALORA EMBRY
"Are you okay now?" Ryker asked and I nod. It's been two days since the attack happened and I've taken those two days to rest while practicing to control my magic once again. We are now taking other measurements when we detect that there is another batch of battleships.
Just how many ships do they have when ours was none?
"Yes, I can say that my body is cooperating well. I"
"That's nice to hear. But do not push yourself too much or else you'll end up like that again."
"Yeah. So, when is the possible time that they will arrive?" I asked and look at the sea.
"Two days from now... I hope that your plan will be executed smoothly." He sighed and I nod at him.
"Just trust my instinct and of course those knights that were out."
"Yeah. Let's pray that they won't make a mistake." While I was practicing my magic, I suddenly came up with this plan that will make sure to annihilate them in just a day no that was exaggerated a week I think. My stay here is taking longer than I expect I can't bring to make it longer and longer.
"My Lord..."
"What is it?" he sat down on the large rock and watch the sea in front of us. Now that the battleships were gone the sea looks clear and peaceful. With this momentary peacefulness in this port, I can't help to be at ease, when everything is done it looks good to have a vacation near the sea. The land of Count Dermin was a good place.
"What is it like in the front line? I heard some thugs talking about it before we reach the capital about the situation. I would like to hear it from you. Can you tell me everything and why they put you here?"
"Hmm, The front lines... it was harsh maybe those thugs that you were talking about were hired mercenaries. It was the palace that hired those mercenaries and when they experience how things happened there they backed out and didn't mind if they won't receive their payments. We didn't expect that mages from Wren can control magical beasts, that is why we lost so many lives in just a day the beasts went out of their control and both sides were being killed. It was horrifying that some of the knights back out running for their lives, not looking back for their comrades just to be safe. It was a sight that is not for you to see those ladies too, so I was deeply moved by the female knights that stayed there. They didn't back out like the mercenaries did, they were brave enough to survive the tough battlefield."
"They control many beasts?"
"Yes, it was the mage with green eyes. The one that put the black magic to His Highness. He was that strong to control hundreds of beasts." I don't know how to react, back then I said that the person who attack the academy was weak but what if he was that person? Is he playing with us that time?
"What do you think about the sudden attack at the academy?"
"I don't think he is not that person the green-eyed mage was able to control many beats just by himself but he was thinking so highly of him that it went wrong. Such an idiot." I nod at him. So he was not that person.
"I see."
"For the question on why they sent us here. When His Highness collapsed, we were the ones to escort him to the palace, it was an order by the emperor ordered to us to help the Commander but we were surprised by the sudden attack. There are spies planted in the barracks and we do not know who is the enemy, the Commander who almost died that time and gave up already. But then a mage sacrifice his life I watch him as he use teleportation magic and summoned Sir Hayes and that killed him. He was such a brave mage sadly he died early."
"His story will surely be known."
"What about you? You faint during the battle that rumors are circulating around the knights that you got scared that is why you faked it, fainting the moment that war started."
"They were against me going war with Wren that is why they put me to sleep and locked me. I was thinking that it was Damien."
"But it was your brother who go back to the capital."
"Brother?" I frown. Why did he do that?
"Yes, when you fainted he retreats and goes back to the capital using a teleportation scroll and manages to go back after two weeks. Only the knights were surprised by that looks that the Crown Prince and others already knew."
"So, they really planned everything..."
"I think because they want to protect you, it's not because they were looking down on you but because they want you to be safe. It is the war we are talking about we do not know when we are going to die." I didn't utter a word and nodded. I made a slight smile and look at him.
"You read me well, My Lord."
"Did he confess his love for you?" he suddenly asked.
"Who?"
"My brother."
"Yes."
"Such a fool, why did he fall to a lady who was already betrothed to another."
"How did you know?"
"I have my ways. But, sorry for this, but you are really dense." I laugh when he said that irritably and by that I suddenly remember Damien. Why do they have the same reaction, getting angry at me for not being aware?
"And why is that?"
"You didn't know that those gentlemen that were roaming around you already fall for you."
"Then I would assume that Sir Hayes and the Crown Prince were secretly in love with me because you said the word 'those gentlemen that were roaming around you'?" he suddenly shrugs his shoulder and I sigh.
"Think of it, why they like to bother you. Isn't it to get your attention? I wouldn't be surprised If I suddenly heard someone talking about on how dense you are."
"It is not my fault, My Lord. How come that I would think of that, them following me because they like me when I am being wary of them? And in the first place, I don't want to have some friendly relationship with the Crown Prince while the Hayes and Capell were enemies of our household. So, that thought was not appropriate."
"You have a point."
"See?"
"Haa, my brother was really an idiot." I don't know if I will laugh or not, he is insulting his younger brother once again, in front of me.
"If he happens to hear this, he will surely be discouraged."
"Yeah, I think so too. That softhearted brother of mine..." our conversation was cut-off when a loud horn was heard in the whole seaport. The knights were so fast that they fall into lines and were waiting for orders.
"They did it!"
"Proud knights of Dormer, ready for our upcoming battle. We will be able to slaughter them all!"
"Yes!"
"Everyone get ready to be teleported!" Michonne that was just a student managed to teleport everyone just by herself. I wish they will see how talented she is and that is because some mages need help to teleport many people. They can't do it by themselves while it was just easy for her. When we are now finally at the Illusion island, I suddenly remember our plan.
"My Lord, I happen to come up with this plan. With this, we will manage to win this battle."
"Then let's hear them."
"I want you to gather your most trusted knights and Michonne too. The plan lies in their hand, if they will do my plan well, we can say that luck was on our side."
"I see, I will inform them right now. Let's meet at the pub after dinner, I will also prepare some things that you might need."
"Okay, I understand." We wait until we finish eating dinner and when I arrive at the pub the Ryker was talking about I saw them. They were sitting at the corner of the pub, I grinned when I saw a map there. Ryker together with his brother, Michonne, and five knights was silently sitting there.
When they saw me, they stand up and greeted me.
"Let's now start."
"Yes, My Lady."
I just need to wait and I'll be at the borders soon... this plan must not fail.
