Part 17

Mr Eddie and his daughter Careen were going into the interrogation room to interrogate the drug dealers. Wisdom stood on their way when they approached the door.
"What's it now Wisdom?", Mr Eddie asked with irritation.
"I want to join you guys and interrogate those criminals", he requested with enthusiasm.
"No! You're not going in there with us", Mr Eddie responded immediately.
"But Careen is going in with you", Wisdom frowned his face.
"Yes Dad! Let him join us", Careen intervened, "Why can't he join us?", she questioned her Dad.
"Because he's opposite of his name. Obviously!", he looked at his daughter wearily.
"Be giving him opportunities and he'll improve some day. You'll see", she tried convincing him. She then realized was no more on their way. He was nowhere to be seen.
Mr Eddie read the shock she expressed on the face and turned to know what had happened. He was happy, though surprised not to see Wisdom. "Where did he go?", he asked feeling excited. Careen expressed she knew nothing about where he went to.
"Let's go in then", her Dad gestured. They both went into the interrogation room. They saw Wisdom already having a playful chatter with the drug dealers. Mr Eddie and his daughter looked at each other in astonishment.
"Honestly! The adventure was really fun", Wisdom chuckled.
"Wisdom you're sitting on my chair", Careen tapped on him.
"Let me sit on this other one then", he replied, getting up.
"Don't even develop the ball to sit on mine", Mr Eddie frowned at him.
"Where should I sit then?", he asked. He got no response. Careen and her Dad had their seats. He sighed;"Okay then!" He sat on the floor beside the Chief Constable. Careen covered her face in shame.
Wisdom clearly saw he could not see the top of the table and got up immediately. "Just realized I couldn't see the top of the table", he said.
Mr Eddie sighed, trying to overlook everything. "Why did rich men like you get involved in drug trafficking?", he asked the men, especially the Commissioner. Wisdom sat on the table and though it got him annoyed, he still tolerated it.
"This isn't what you should be asking us. You asked a question that has an obvious answer to it", the Commissioner replied casually.
"It's for more money right?", Wisdom smiled at him.
The Commissioner gasped dramatically with excitement. "This your colleague is a very wise lad", he said to the Chief Constable. He knew Mr Eddie would get more annoyed by this.
"Can we focus on what we are all here for?", Mr Eddie spoke indirectly to Wisdom.
"I remember the day my Dad caught me when I was about to smoke a cigarette for the first time, he smacked me that day", Wisdom said to the Commissioner and laughed alone.
Mr Eddie smacked on the table lightly, feeling angered to the maximum. He gazed at the Commissioner with a glare as though he was the one at fault. The Commissioner gestured he had nothing to do with what Wisdom said.
"Careen! I think you should go out for a stroll with Wis...", her Dad refused to call him by that name, "What's your other name?", he asked Wisdom vaguely.
"Uhmmm... Ifeanyi", he replied in confusion.
"Careen! Go out for a stroll with Ifeanyi", her Dad adjured.
"Okay Dad", Careen got up. She signalled for Wisdom to get up also.
"Why are we going for a stroll?", Wisdom asked her. Knowing her Dad was fuelling up, she quickly dragged Wisdom out of the interrogation room and closed the door behind them.

They strolled out of the police station premises. "You should learn how to make my Dad start liking you", Careen advised him.
"What did I do? Your Dad gets angry over little things" Wisdom gestured.
"Why would you be chattering playfully with criminals, telling them stupid stories of you about smoking a cigarette and your Dad smacking you because of it?", she shook her head in letdown.
"Fine! I promise to be well-behaved from now on", he said reluctantly. He then sighted the lady he met at the hotel some distance away chatting with a female friend of hers. "Ooh!", he exclaimed, "That's the girl I met in the hotel", he became excited.
"So what do you want to do? Go see her?", asked Careen.
"No! She gave me her number. I'll call her and she's going to come over", he replied with certainty. Careen smiled at him in amazement and giggled. Wisdom dialed her line. "I saved her as the girl who loves me", he smirked at Careen.
The lady heard her phone ring and saw it was Wisdom. She felt irritated and declined the call. She continued her chat with her friend.
Wisdom gaped at his phone and then at the lady. Careen laughed at him. "Thought she's the girl that loves you?", she ribbed him.
"It must be a mistake. Let me call her again", Wisdom dialed the line again. The lady saw the call and declined it the second time. Wisdom became devastated. He wanted making the third attempt but Careen intervened.
"She obviously doesn't want to talk to you", she collected his phone and put it back in his trouser pocket.
"But why doesn't she want to talk to me?", Wisdom got slightly angry.
Careen tapped on his back to make him feel better. "I have a lot of single and searching ladies you could talk to abd then make your choice", she smiled at him.
His mood got brightened up and he asked;"Where are they?"
We could go visit one of them if you don't mind", she suggested, "She's way hotter than that girl", she gawped at the lady.
"When are we going to visit her?", Wisdom was becoming impatient.
"Like...right now", she smirked at him and held his hand, "Follow me", she said. They walked along the road, going to pay her friend a visit.

Can I ask a question? Do you need to be professional to write a good story? Because I want to be a writer, but I didn't finish my studies.
