Title: Who's the spy?
In split seconds, i and Rowan were having this chit chat about his workers. He hasn't been attending meetings and works in his office. But Zack tries to see everything was in place. He didn't care about his pregnant wife. I must say, Zack was a good friend.
"Rowan, why don't we visit Zoe and Zack?" I asked. His laugh disappeared instantly. His guilty eyes ruminates into mine and he nodded.
"I don't want to see them yet, they will see me as a boy from the asylum which is of a lesser comment for me" I pinch him so hard. "Awoooo! That's very painful"
"Painful for your sour brain. Zoe and Zack are your friends. Why are you thinking of them that way?"
"I'm sorry. I forgot they are the friends i never had"
"How so?"
"They are like my other siblings. I don't see them as friends"
"Well, your families will not think bad of you, will they?"
"You have a point. I'm such a stupid person to think of them that way, if Zoe finds out, I'm dead"
"I'd ike to watch you dead then. I'll tell her"
"What did you say?"
"You heard me"
He grabbed my hand and pulled me closer. I held my breath as the impact hit me. I couldn't think of anything else, we were alone in our own world. He planted a long kiss on my forehead and smiled ruefully. "You're mine"
He bit my ear robe and that was when i breathed out heavily, then i smelt another different smell, it wasn't his scent, it was another smell, like burnt stew. Realization dawned me and i shout. "Rowan, our food"
He released me immediately and went for the food. He turned off the gas cooker and opened the pot.
Our tomatoe sauce had gotten all black. "What the heck?'
"You caused it. Why did you seduce me?" He accused.
"Me. I never caused it. I cause nothing, you grabbed me first"
"Yes. You could just reminded me our food was on fire. "He said and walk out.
I got down from the long stool in a huff and followed him. "Don't blame me. You devil"
He chuckled. "My witch. "
He opened our room and went in. I followed and closed the door behind. "Witch?. You called me a witch" He turned. "You're my witch. My sexy witch" He looked at my exposedly slender legs and licked his lips. "Pervert" I hit him on the head. He gave a heart felt laugh and walked into the closet. He came out in a trouser and a shirt. "Where are you going?"
"I am famished. And so we are going together to Zack's house"
"It's late"
"We're gonna have dinner then"
"Alright. " I simply said and walked into the closet. I searched and found a comfortable pair of trouser with a chiffon top. I had my coat worn over and i came out. He was putting on his shoes while I searched for my snickers.
We were out infront of a diner. I looked surprisedly at my husband. "I thought we were going towards her apartment"
"Believe me when i said i wanted an already made food."
We climbed down and started going towards this restaurant. Our eyes met the couple at their table.
We walked to Zoe and Zack's table and sat down. Zoe was already consuming home made cobe salads. She beamed when she saw us. "Zoe would never wait for us. She has a habit of doing that" Rowan says calling a waiter to come. "Well, you leave me no choice. I couldn't wait any longer, and my baby.."
"Shut up. Don't use the baby as an excuse, you've been doing that for ages!" Zack shouts at her and earned a daring glare. "Okay. Don't fight now, acknowledge the presence of a new family"
Seems they fought a lot. Rowan's words worked like magic as the both looked at me. "You're beautiful, Aubrey. Thanks for ever thinking of taking care of this fellow"
He smirked. "Not that she has a choice." Rowan mumbled out loud and she hit him her spoon leaving a little salad on his hair. He groaned and left towards the restroom. "Serves him right dear"
I nodded gratefully. "Thank God you understands him more than i do" I laughed lightly.
"How's Anna doing over at your place?, hope she isn't disturbing you?"
"Not at all. One minute, she's downstairs and the next minute, she's at the comfort of her room"
"And it helps a lot, since Rowan was coming around"
"He is. He's no more angry when he sees her, that's for the hope he's keeping his anger in check"
"Sure. That bitch has done so much harm than good. Anna wouldn't hurt a soul then, everyone was surprised of who Anna turned out to be" Zack said in anger.
"You wouldn't tell. Anyone could change at anytime"
"But not Anna. She's my childhood friend. I know her"
"You still valued your relationship with her. That woman is a witch. She's a pretender." Her husband said.
"I soleumly believe that something was wrong somewhere. She can't wake one day and run from her own wedding. She dreamed so much of that day and suddenly she left just like that. Something made her do it"
"Maybe, the baby.."
"It doesn't make sense. She would be the happiest woman to tell Rowan of his baby. Maybe she didn't know she had a baby"
"Sssshh..Rowan's coming" I announced.
We kept shut immediately. Rowan sat down and grab his spoon.
"Why are you suddenly quiet?" He asked nonchantly. "You were saying something when i entered " He was directing that question to me. I hesitated with the eye contact Zoe was making.
"We were talking of...ah..um..our stay at UAE" I lied.
He dropped his spoon and looked into my eyes. "You're not a good liar, sweet. If it's about Anna, I'm all ears. I wonder why she left me at the alter."
"Eh..."
We all were dumbfounded.
"All i ever wanted was to kill Anna. But at a time, you made me realize it wasn't out of anger. It was fear, fear of being hurt again. Fear is a very dangerous weapon. It is powerful, more than you can ever imagine. I'm getting over that, the more i keep approaching my fears, the better. I want to know why she did what she did, maybe we could find a clue" I gulped down and continued watching my husband. "Who are you?"
"I don't understand"
"Never mind" I said quickly.
"You're right. Why don't you approach your fear?" Zack questioned.
"This is not the right time. I might loose it and cause a disaster"
We all nodded.
~Anna's pov~
Walking into my sitting room, i met Nelson on my cushion. I averted eye contact with him and sat opposite him. He looked at me all over again and again and licked his lips. He is a pervert, he could hurt me at any time now. I have to say something to get his mind off of me. "You called me" He looked at me and smirked.
"Yes, i did. My spy told me you were not doing what you're asked to do"
He had a spy?, this fucking shit has a spy in that house.
"Rowan wouldn't let me"
"Have you tried other means?"
"What other means do you think of?. That man wouldn't let me talk to him. He's mad, he's completely lost his senses. He will hurt me"
I cried.
"That is why i brought up a new proposal to make his wife leave him"
"And?".
A new plan on the way. He smiles..no, a smirk lingered on his lips.
"Rowan is a jerk. A coward, so i made a plan to piss his wife and take him away."
"If his wife is the problem, why don't you take her down?"
I can't believe i suggested that idea. But what do i do?, i didn't want Rowan to get into more trouble because of me. I know I'm being selfish but i have no choice.
"His wife is special. Do not touch her, she's mine to handle" Aubrey was special to him?. What does he mean by that?.
"Tomorrow, a parcel will be handed over to you by my spy. Then you'll know of a spy i put in charge of you. If you do any fucking mistake, I'll kill Tyler"
He came closer and ran his hands over my body, he came to my legs and spread them apart, then he put his head in between. He released a deep breath, a disgusting one. My heart was beating very fast. No, this is not happening.
He popped his head out and exhaled with a smile. "Your pussy smelt nice. I'm having you this next time we meet, but now i'd say you should run off home before they comes back. "
How the heck was he knowing everything that happened in that house?.
