Chapter 39: Art Of Teaching

I ended up walking to the training ground making sure no one was following me. I had scheduled practice with the boys later on, but I'll be there earlier than scheduled.

After yesterday's event, I didn't want to talk to those two, or we barely said anything after class. Even if they tried to talk to me, I will leave first to avoid any conversation.

For a while, I don't wanna talk to them about Ulysses. Honestly, talking about him makes me more guilty for deceiving them. So, I didn't want to admit that I deceived them.

    *sighs*

"Hmm, you're early milady?" I meet Adrian soon after entering the hidden training ground, and the other knights I am obligated to see.

I smirked and looked away. "I had to escape and avoid those two for a while."

They looked at me and Dores who was beside Eclise suddenly burst into laughter. "Is this about 'Sir Ulysses' again?" I nodded and held my forehead.

"I swear, this is unpredictable," Dores continued laughing even though I can understand why he's laughing, it still mocks me a little.

"You should have just said that to her, 'I am Ulysses' might as well decrease the phenomenon of 'where is Ulysses?' and let it ---" I didn't let him finish his sentence when I ran towards, lowering my body and jumping to kick his face.

Thank god the dress was not too heavy, it's a small men's attire anyways. "One more word and I'll make your head the decoration at the entrance of the knight entrance." His reflexes are still uneducated so he was late to realize that my feet are about to break his shoulders when Adrian interfered grabbing Dores and I ended up landing on the ground.

Dores retreated in shock. "Milady, that's too dangerous, Dores might actually lose his arms!" Adrian scolded me so I just brushed my hair.

"Yes, I am Ulysses, Dores and as Ulysses, I have no obligations if I break your bones. "

As their superior, I have to discipline those who mess with their training and don't advance, that is Dores, until now his reflexes were average or perhaps just too damn, it's a mess.

"Come on milady! Wouldn't you take that as a joke!?" He complained and I didn't respond thinking about it before I looked at him and gave a cold stare. "Will you then accept my 'joke' if I were to break your bones?"

He was silent for a while before he shrugged his head. "I apologize, I won't do it again, " at least he understands it. Dores might be annoying but he is the first to understand my logic, unlike Adrian who would often scold me like a child! Well, I am a child, so it does make sense.

"Milady, please restrain yourself, a lady shouldn't go around being violence, and this is not your comfort area to relieve your stress, we are not your stress bags!" I gave a yawn and ended up sitting on the dirty ground which looked at me in panic, I didn't care. It's been a year and a half, everything is normal as for that time being.

But I feel like Adrian is becoming more like a big brother than a knight. I should discipline him about the distance between a lady and a knight. It's not a discrimination but as a knight, he should know that. He is not some kind of a secretary like Lord Gesten who would often scold father when he skipped his works.

"Please, the lord will surely punish me if I don't say something about Milady's actions sometimes." I gave a boring growl and looked away, the hell is wrong with him and father, I may step out of boundaries sometimes like being violence over something and would often order the knights to do my bidding if I cannot do it myself but I have my reasons!

"Isn't the duty of a knight to follow orders? If you can't do that much, just quit," I said.. I was annoyed that I shrugged my head and breathed out.

"Milady, please show some regards to the honor and our pride, it's true that we must follow orders but in circumstances, we cannot follow yours unless it came directly from the marquis himself."

Jeez, I should have known. Pride and Honor? Neither one was left for me, or such I don't have pride and honor left to show them. Only my principles are left, and if I lose that, it's over for me.

It's because I have my principles, that is why I survived. "Ah," I sigh and stand up. "In a few seconds, I need Adrian in the back, we will start our training, the others should continue with the previous lesson and Dores will also be present later on. "

I tied my hair using a small hair accessory. Then as I ordered, they went with it like nothing happened a second ago. After looking at them with their usual workout, I saw some newbies looking at me with displeasing sight.

I see, the new recruits have come. Those people must haven't seen me, so having a woman teach old guys must have damaged their expectations of our household. I quickly chuckled and saw Sain.

"The new recruits," I asked coldly. Sain who kneeled to match with me nodded. "I shall take care of them, milady," I nodded at his reply.

"Then, I shall expect your reports later on." I've dominated the Crambell Knight Squad, so having to say I can command them is basically how they can understand. I have the authority to order them on my own will, with or without my fathers consent.

Later on, we headed through our secret place we usually work on. Dores let me through and Adrian walked beside me, then two of them bowed before I took the reserve wooden sword placed on the table.

"Have you studied the Art Of War?" They must know the famous military strategies book, written long ago. A very famous eastern philosopher wrote the book, consistency of what we know about war and war alone.

Last we saw each other, I told Adrian to study the teaching of the 'Art Of War' and the swordplay of the eastern caliber. The song of warriors and their swordsmanship, dwells with discipline about philosophical understanding.

"Yes, milady, as you recommended, I studied the teachings of a great man," I nodded and held the wooden sword. Then I smile, "good, then you must have learned the etiquette of discipline and the good advice that was told by a great man?" He nodded so I was relieved.

"In the book Art Of War, there is also a book called, Art Of Sword, and Art Of Peace. We basically learn from this philosophical author to understand what it meant by their books, so that in a battle which we have to choose, we can either choose an honorable path of righteousness."

In the Art of War, they teach us about how to know good leadership in circumstances like war. How to avoid getting killed, or how to avoid irresponsible orders that would lead to death. Basically learn about the Art of War, you will think it's better to learn the Art of Conspiracy and theory to understand what is the worth of being a leader, a general, the one to lead an army or a nation.

"Theorist and conspiracy, to understand the meaning of 'Art of War' and how to perform leadership well. So think about it as a 'good' or 'bad' situation that may affect your leadership."

Adrian nodded and I raised my sword. "Become disciplined in your life, like the sword, this is your life, like the windows it will easily be shattered and like the moon, you may find life as challenging but like your weapon you must stay strengthened as sharp as possible."

That is your pride, as sharp as your sword and that is your honor as the one holding it... "But, do you have any principles?" Your principles will be your way of life. "Find your inner making, be one with your will and think about your sword as your family, embrace it and learn it, or teach it to be disciplined."

I swung the sword swiftly and breathed it. "Don't always work with your hands, think about your feet as well, with your hands and feet working together, you will find a good result of your practice, and when you have all your resolve, think how to improvise your motionless fighting technique."

I was able to run at the speed of unordinary person because I trained day and night syncing my hands and feet together. I want it to work together, so having to say I broke my ribs back then was actually true, it is for my training.

Now, I breathed in and satted down. Adrian was first confused over lately but he didn't seem doubtful, as Dores, he is troubled like how I've predicted.

He didn't understand the Art of War concept so maybe let's use that book. "Misfits," refers to the one who had a hard time being himself and I can see Dores that way so I nodded.

"Dores, I will send you a book later on, try to study it as well, in our next session, you will fight me heads-on."

    "Pardon?"
