Chapter 13- Public display

Ethan barged into his father’s company with a giant scowl on his face. His face was red with anger and his blood boiled in rage.
He ignored the greetings of the employees around as all he was concerned with was meeting his father to drop a piece of his mind.
“I’m sorry sir, you can’t go in at the moment. Your father is with some people, very important”, a man who was clad in a suit said as he stood at Ethan’s front.
Ethan scoffed as he clenched his fists in anger. He shot the man a dead glare in a bid to let him know that he was in for no joke.
“Are you standing on my way?” Ethan asked as he took slow steps toward him.
“I’m only following order's sir”, the man said, with his head lowered to the ground.
“To hell with orders!” Ethan said defiantly as he flung his fists towards his face, causing him to let out a slight cry of pain.
The man held his cheeks and glared at Ethan, who had no glimpse of remorse in his expression.
“I’m sorry, I still can’t let you in”, the man said again, standing on the way and holding his cheeks that were hurting as a result of the punch he had received from Ethan.
“Do you have a death wish?” Ethan gritted his teeth and made to throw another punch at the man when a hand held him from behind.
It was another security person who had been at the corner watching what was going on.
“Sir, you have to wait!” The man who held Ethan pleaded with him while he struggled to break free from his grip.
“You all are bastards! Let me go, I need to go and meet that son of a bitch who calls himself my father!” Ethan yelled out of his lungs as everywhere turned dead silent.
Next, he saw flashes of light on his face, with slight murmuring right at his front.
He lifted his head, still in the grip of the man who held him. The sight he saw caused his jaws to drop and his rage to accelerate.
“Did you just call your father that?” A reporter asked as she stepped forward and placed the microphone on his mouth.
Ethan hated moments like this because it only did well in triggering the hate he had for always being in the light.
“You can go to hell for all I care!” Ethan replied, still struggling to get himself off the grip of the man who held him firmly.
Murmurs erupted again as another reporter walked forward.
“Are you so angry about the fact that you have another brother somewhere?” The man asked Ethan, who shot him a dead glare.
“Have you taken a bath this morning?” He asked the reporter, who opened his eyes in shock.
“Let me go!” He yanked himself off the grip and turned to stare at the reporter.
“You should go back and take a bath. You stink!” He said and threw a spit on his face.
He cared less about the number of lights that flashed on his face. He was certain that he was being snapped and, even, recorded.

Everyone was in awe as they watched Ethan, who showcased his inappropriate behavior in the public.
None of the reporters present believed that Mr. Philip’s son was as aggressive and stubborn as he appeared to be.
This caused their heart to leap in excitement, especially because they got something more spicy and juicy to add up to the story.
Mr. Philip had summoned them for a press conference to address the issue of having a child somewhere with another woman.
They had just finished listening to his story and as though luck were shining on them, they met his son who was behaving like someone who has just escaped from asylum.
“What? Haven’t you all stared at me enough?” Ethan asked aloud as he broke into a loud and hysterical laughter.
“Go and get busy, you nosy fools! Go on and write what you’ve seen today, idiots!” He insulted them and made to leave when he stopped right in his tracks.
“And yes! Just a little warning to never hold me next time you see me”, Ethan said, and threw quick punches at the men who had held him earlier.
After this, he pushed the crowd and angrily made his way to his father’s office.
Mr. Philip’s eyes were glued to the screen that displayed what was happening right at the front of his office.
He sipped from his glass of wine as he clenched his fists in rage.
Just then, Ethan barged into the room and flung a newspaper over to him.
“I presume that you must be feeling like a hero!” Mr. Philip said as he shot him a dead glare.
“No dad! You should be the hero who hid such a huge secret from your family for so many years”, Ethan replied sarcastically as he grabbed the glass of wine from his hands and gulped down hurriedly.
“To say that I’m disappointed in you is an understatement. Just look at what you showed to the world. In the midst of the reporters and everyone around, you did well in showing them how crazy you are”, Mr. Philip yelled out of his lungs.
Ethan jerked to his feet immediately and peered piercingly into his father’s eyes.
“You should realize that I don’t care anymore! All of these reporters stuff and public image and all those shit, I’m done with it!” He said defiantly, while Mr. Philip stared at him, clearly in shock.
“No, you are not! We would organize a press conference. You would tell them that you are sorry as you reacted in such manner as a result of how stressed out you’ve been with work” he ordered and almost immediately, Ethan broke into loud laughter.
“Why? Because you’re so concerned with the image of your company, isn’t it?” Ethan asked in disgust as he threw spit to the floor.
Mr. Philip turned a sharp gaze to him, with his fists clenched in anger and his heart beating rapidly.
“When you are ready to talk like a man, you can meet with me. For now, I would organize a press conference where you would deal with the rubbish you showcased today”, He said and angrily walked out of his office.
