“Tell me, what exactly happened to you, Cade?” he was quick to recover from the shock and was going to take a step closer to her but she stopped him with her hands held up “Don’t lie to me and tell me everything” she demanded.
He didn’t have any hope left in him and just thought that there was no use in keeping up with the lies so he sighs and nod his head. “I’ll tell you everything but you will have to let this be between us, please” he pleads with her.
Michelle looks at him with furrowed brows then held his hand and led him to the bench so that they can sit down.
“You will be truthful with me?” she asked.
Cade thought about it for a while and flashes of all the threats Darius made to anyone who comes to know about his true identity and mission in this family went through his mind and it prevented him from saying anything further.
The last thing he wanted was for anything bad to happen to this nice family that took him in oblivious to the evil that someone has against them but then his life was at risk too if Darius knew that he told someone, everyone was in trouble.
He nods his head and then began to tell her all that he could remember from the blast to when he was the Devanto’s to when his uncle Darius took him in and told him that the Lorenzo’s had the nice family killed because they wanted his father’s wealth and he was the only way to get it for them.
Then he further explained how he was trained and taught to hate the Lorenzo’s and that his mission was to take everything they took from his dad and eliminate them.
Michelle had no words to say when he told her everything, she had seen things similar to this situation in movies but never actually believed it happens for real.
She was quiet all through the time he explained to her, till he was done explaining. Cade did not know if she believed anything, he said or maybe it was too much for her to handle that she might tell someone else.
“Michelle, this might sound unreal, crazy even but that’s the truth and I would understand if it’s too much to handle but please don’t let anyone know about this” he begged. “I… I do not know why I confessed all these to you but I… I just don’t know”
She looked at him and then opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out, so she stays quiet for a moment before speaking up.
“I believe you and I will not tell anyone till we both get to the root of all these. I do not know your parents, adoptive parents that well but I know that they are very nice people and they will not do all that your uncle accuses them of but there’s one thing I want you to tell me”
He nods his head for her to continue so she closed her eyes, let out deep breaths, and opened them to Cade’s expecting ones.
“Do you remember me at all?” she asked and Cade drew back for a bit to think, she was so expecting what answer he would give to her “Anything like all the times we spent there and how we came to know of your evil uncle when your mother explained things to you, do you remember any of that?”
Cade looked at her sadly then shook his head “I do feel this connection when you’re around me, and there’s this blonde lady that I see in my dreams but her face is all blurry” he took her hand in his “I really wish I did but I don’t”
Michelle nods then smiled at him “It’s okay, I hope that your memories come back soon because they were good”
He nods.
“Thank you” they shared a hug that lasted for some time before pulling away and staying quiet. “What do you think we need to do now? I mean, not that you know about why I am here, what step should we take to stop this if my uncle is lying and is evil?”
“Hmm, I can’t think of anything at the moment but what I can say is that we need to lay things low for now. I don’t know anything, you haven’t told anybody anything” he nods in agreement.
“Okay, that could work then, thanks so much, I do hope that we get to the bottom of this soon and I can truly know about the truth of everything”
“Me too Cade, me too” she looked at the people in the park that walked around, some with family, friends, lovers, their kids.
Then something went through her mind and she looked back at Cade.
“You know Julius?” he asked him then watched as Cade’s face turned dark when she mentioned his name “You know him then” she concluded.
“He was the one who aid the killing of the Devanto’s” he said to her.
“Your uncle told you that?”
“I didn’t know what to believe and when he came over to meet with the Devanto’s he wouldn’t want to see me and when I am around, he leaves early like he’s scared of me,” he said.
“Do you think Julius is a bad guy?”
“I don’t have any issue with him, I just see him as suspicious” he shrugged.
“That’s what I thought when he came over to my place”
“He told you all”
“Yes, he informed me and even though I would have loved for you to tell me first, at least it was the kick you needed to in telling someone about this grave plan by your crazy uncle” she rolled her eyes.
He understood why she felt like that, women love to know something about their man from their man not from someone else but he’s still yet to figure out if she was the lady he sees in his dream and if they really had something special as it feels like without leading her on.
“Everything will fall into place soon,” he said and she nods her head.
“Yes, it will” she reached out for his hand and entwined her fingers with his. “It will”
They sat there like that looking at people that came and went, pointed at things they talked about, and laughed at some things that Cade told her.
“You’re still that same man I fell for, just a bit stiff and different” she laughed.
“Stiff?”
“Kinda” she shrugged.
“Do you want to go back home?” he asked and she checked the time on her watch.
“I need to get back home to get some more sleep, I am going shopping with yo—Mrs. Lorenzo and I don’t want to get all tired when I get up tomorrow but I love spending time with you” she smiled up at him “Today was good”
“I enjoyed your company too, let’s get you home” he stood up, held out his hand for her to take, and pulled her up. “Maybe we can do this some oth-”
He stopped his sentence when he saw who was now standing in front of them when they turned around. Nothing has made him feel any sort of fear but the fear that gripped him when he saw this man standing behind him was stronger than the sedatives he had been given all those years he proved stubborn.
He did not know how long he had been standing there but he hoped it was not long enough.
“Uncle Darius, what are you doing here?”
