Chapter 27 As A Friend

After the concert ends, Iseul and Yoon Hee leave the building and prepare to leave. Iseul is waiting for Ro Woon outside while Yoon Hee accompanies her.
"Mong Iseul!" called Gary, who suddenly appeared and gave a side hug on Iseul's shoulder.
"ommo oppa! How did you get here?" Iseul asked in surprise.
"I have something to do around here and I see you here, but... who is she?" ask Gary to see Yoon Hee.
"She is my teammate, Lee Yoon Hee," said Iseul when introducing Yoon Hee to Gary.
Gary shook Yoon Hee's hand and then kissed the back of her hand gently, making Yoon Hee's face become red.
"Oppa, what did you do to her?" asked Iseul, confused by Gary's sudden sweet behavior.
"I have to treat a girl in a gentle way," Gary said to Iseul without letting go of Yoon Hee's hand.
"You never treated me gently.." Iseul said in protest.
"Ah jinjaa (really) ? I'm sorry, Mong Ji. " Gary said this while pinching Iseul's cheek.
"what are you doing? Who is he?" asked Ro Woon, who had just arrived and immediately got out of his car. Gary took his hand off Iseul's cheek and turned to look at Ro Woon.
"Who is he?" Gary asked Iseul.
"Kim Ro Woon," replied Ro Woon coldly. Seeing a stranger being intimate with his fiancee certainly makes the man feel upset.
"Kim... Ro Woon?" "Aah, your fiance, right?" Gary asked Iseul, and the woman just nodded to answer his question.
"Woah... he's a handsome guy, by the way, Iseul-ah, we still have dinner plans together, remember? Let's have dinner now together with your fiance too," said Gary. Iseul just accepted it, and Ro Woon couldn't say no to it either.
"and Yoon Hee-ssi, do you have a boyfriend?" Gary suddenly changed his tone to become softer.
    "Ah, no," said Yoon Hee.
"Well, that suits me then. Do you want to be my girlfriend?" Ask Gary again.
    "n-ne?"Yoon Hee asked in surprise.
"Yak oppa, are you kidding me?"Iseul asked
"Hey, I'm serious, you know, I just fell in love at first sight with her, so... since you don't have a boyfriend, let's have a dinner together as a double date," Gary said confidently. The four of them finally agreed to have dinner together, and they went to the restaurant together for dinner.
Ji Hoon has just finished his activities and wants to meet Iseul after what he said on stage. He wanted to tell her that he sincerely wished for her happiness and that if letting her go was the only thing he could do to make her happy, he would gladly do that.
He looked for Iseul everywhere, but he couldn't see her anywhere. He then decides to call Yoon Hee because he remembers seeing her with Iseul last time, and he would rather call Yoon Hee first than Iseul because he doesn't want to make the woman feel uncomfortable with him anymore.
After calling Yoon Hee, she finds out that the two of them are having dinner together, and Yoon Hee also asks Ji Hoon to join their dinner without mentioning Ro Woon and Gary's presence there as well. Without knowing about the whereabouts of the two men, Ji Hoon agrees to join the dinner that night.
He comes to the restaurant and sees Iseul and Yoon Hee, along with Ro Woon and Gary. He felt dumbfounded when he saw that Ro Woon and Gary were also there. He was just about to leave because he didn't want to interrupt their dinner, but Yoon Hee was quick enough to notice his presence.
"Oppa, come here!" calls Yoon Hee when she sees Ji Hoon just going to leave. Yoon Hee stands up from her chair and approaches Ji Hoon, pulling her cousin in the other direction.
"Oh, Kim Ji Hoon-ssi?" Gary was shocked to see a famous singer appear before him.
"Is it okay if my oppa joins our dinner?"Yoon Hee asked.
"Of course, I'm a big fan of him. Do you want to give me your autograph?" asked Gary.
"Ne.. ne.. my oppa will do that after dinner, right oppa?" Yoon Hee made Ji Hoon sit in front of Iseul and Ro Woon, in the same direction as Yoon Hee and Gary.
"I'm sorry for interrupting this dinner," said Ji Hoon, feeling uncomfortable with the awkward atmosphere.
"It's okay, let's have dinner together," Ro Woon said, trying to relax.
The dinner goes smoothly between Gary and Yoon Hee but feels awkward between Iseul and the other two men. Yoon Hee and Gary dominate the conversation between them, trying to lighten the mood.
"Well, wouldn't it be perfect for a date together if you also took your girlfriend too? It would be a triple date, and you wouldn't feel lonely, Kim Ji Hoon ssi," Gary told Ji Hoon. Ji Hoon smirked at Gary's words.
"I don't have a girlfriend," said Ji Hoon.
"Eyy, don't lie to me." Gary said incredulously.
"That's right, Gary, my oppa doesn't have a girlfriend." Yoon Hee added
Ro Woon looked at Ji Hoon when they mentioned it; it wasn't a surprise for him to know about it, but it still felt awkward to hear it.
"impossible! How could a famous and handsome singer like you not have any girlfriends? "Well, you have so many fans out there, it's very easy for you to get a girlfriend, right?" Gary said it again.
"There are a billion girls who love my oppa, but he has only loved one girl for more than ten years," said Yoon Hee.
"really? What a lucky girl; she must feel very lucky for that," Gary said again.
"I guess so; don't you think so unni?" Yoon Hee asked Iseul.
She knew maybe it seemed impolite to ask Iseul such a question, especially in front of her fiance, who was also her boss, but she couldn't bear to see her cousin feel sad about it; she just wanted to make sure whether Iseul had really moved on from her cousin or not. Iseul doesn't answer Yoon Hee's question and just looks at her blankly, feeling surprised by the question asked of her.
"Why are you asking her?" Gary asked innocently.
"Because my oppa's first love is Iseul unni." Yoon Hee looked at Gary.
"Mong Ji?"Gary was confused.
" Yoon Hee-ah! ", calls Ji Hoon, trying to stop Yoon Hee; he feels so angry now, and when Yoon Hee can feel his anger, she decides to shut up and lower his head.
"Mianheyo... Iseul-ah... Ro Woon-ssi..." Ji Hoon said he felt guilty about creating a heavy tension between them.
"Let's go home. There are still many things we need to do for tomorrow's ceremony. We need to rest," Ro Woon said to Iseul.
Iseul nodded and agreed, and the two stood up from their chairs and left the dinner meeting. Ji Hoon kept staring at their backs until they completely disappeared from his sight.
"you okay?" Ro Woon asked Iseul when they were outside.
"Wae?" asked Iseul, who didn't understand. She stopped her steps and looked towards Ro Woon.
"With everything, with that man, with our marriage, with everything that happens between you and him and between us, are you really okay?" Ro Woon asked again.
"Of course... is there something that should be a problem for me?" Iseul asked
"For you who decide to be with me... are you really okay with me? To marry me," said Ro Woon, looking at Iseul with a serious face. Iseul was silent, not knowing what to say.
"Why do you want to marry me?Do you like me? Do you love me or not?" Ro Woon was added again.
"I don't know how to deduce my feelings about you, but... I feel good when I'm with you; sometimes I also feel my heart rate increase; I feel embarrassed and nervous when you're around me... Iseul said it honestly. Ro Woon looks at Iseul silently and then smiles at her.
"Just wait here; I'll take my car," said Ro Woon, leaving Iseul to take his car.
"Iseul-ah..." said the voice of the man behind Iseul. Iseul turned around and saw Ji Hoon standing in front of her. He looked at her with an expression that could not be explained without a word.
"I'm sorry... "I didn't mean to make the atmosphere so awkward," said Ji Hoon.
"I know that, oppa, it's okay," Iseul said while smiling. Ji Hoon smiled as he listened to the word "oppa" from the woman again; now, she called him as casually as before.
"For your wedding, chukae, I haven't congratulated you yet," Ji Hoon said later.
    "ne... gomawo..."Iseul said
Ji Hoon approaches Iseul and stands beside her; they stand together and watch the road view.
"Our story is really tragic, isn't it?There is never a beginning, but it just ends." Ji Hoon said suddenly.
"I really regret it; if only I had told you about my feelings from the beginning, would everything have been different?" Ji Hoon smiled at Iseul, but with devastated eyes.
"I have no regrets about everything, oppa... at least, we already know about our feelings for each other now, well, you know, there must be a good reason behind it all right," Iseul said.
"You're really a positive thinker, aren't you?" tease Ji Hoon to Iseul.
"Well, we have to keep looking at everything from the positive side, right? So we can move on with our lives without any regrets or doubts," Iseul said.
"that's right... "I think you're right about that," said Ji Hoon, smiling. Iseul looked toward Ji Hoon and extended her hand to him.
"Let's be friends like before, like what you want.Isn't it better for us to get back to being friends rather than keep avoiding each other?" Iseul asked while extending her hands for Ji Hoon to make a handshake. The man smiled at her and nodded his head. He grabbed Iseul's hand and shook their hands together.
"Are we friends now?" asked Ji Hoon. Iseul smiled and nodded at him.
"I hope oppa will come to my party tomorrow for me, as my friend, my old friend..." said Iseul, inviting Ji Hoon to attend her engagement ceremony.
"yes... All right, I'll try to be there as a friend. ", said Ji Hoon, trying to smile sincerely.
