Jeyah's POV
It was already noontime and I already felt very hungry especially that I haven't taken a heavy breakfast. Right after my class in my major subject, I went to the library to borrow some books but I enjoyed reading, and I did not notice it was already twelve o'clock.
"Bubs, my stomach is already rumbling. Let's have our lunch now", Clarisse whispered in my ears that made me startled. I haven't noticed her when she came in. She chuckled upon seeing my reaction and all I could do was pinch the side of her torso.
"Ouch, sorry bubs", she laughed even more.
I smiled while glaring at her. Then, together we went out of the library. As usual, we headed towards the school cafeteria. I saw from afar, our groupmates who were already there waving at us.
"Hi guys, sorry we're late", Clarisse said and pulled a chair.
"Hello bubs, well, we thought you would not be taking your lunch.", Angela spoke.
I looked at Darren who was just silent as if he was not in a good mood. I know, there's something that is bothering in his mind.
"Hi bubs, what's wrong?", I asked.
"Uhm, nothing I'm fine bubs", he smiled and pulled a chair for me to sit beside him.
"By the way, our Achievement Day is coming!", Clarisse spoke.
"Uhm, yeah...It will be next week. Well, at least we could have some break from all the academic pressures", Angela commented.
"I hope we could have more fun activities during that day", Karen butted in,
While my groupmates were busy planning on what to do on the upcoming Achievement Day, I saw Bridgette and her friends approaching towards us.
"Oh my God, the bitch is coming!", Angela rolled her eyes.
"Why is she here all of a sudden?", Clarisse smirked.
"Because of Darren, of course! Who could be the other reason?", Karen grunted.
"Hi Darren sweetheart! I would like to tell you personally that my parents will be coming here two weeks from now. They plan to throw me a birthday party and of course, they are expecting you to be there", Bridgette said amorously while hugging Darren from behind.
I couldn't bear to look at them for a long time because I felt like I could hardly breathe. I made excuses to just go ahead for a very important matter to attend to. I hurriedly left the cafeteria because I was afraid I couldn't anymore hold back my tears.
I did not know Clarisse was following me.
"Bubs, wait!", she called me but I continued walking heading to the back of our building.
And there I burst out into tears. Clarisse sat beside me on the bench and comforted me.
"Just cry bubs. I know you are hurt and I understand", she said and hugged me.
I know, I don't have any right to feel this way because Darren is not my boyfriend. But I couldn't help myself but get hurt. 
After some time of being emotional, I wiped my tears away. "I'm sorry bubs. I was not able to control myself", I said.
"It's okay bubs, It's normal because you love Darren.", she responded and smiled halfway.
"Don't worry bubs, it's safe with me. But you know---", Clarisse paused for a while.
"Uhm, I think Darren feels the same way but maybe he is just waiting for the right time to confess his feelings."
"I am not sure about it bubs. I don't want to expect because it's obvious that Darren's family likes Bridgette for him", I said softly.
"Correction bubs. Only his father, but his mom and siblings, I think they like you!"
"So, cheer up okay?", Clarisse comforted me and rubbed my back.
I feel better now but still, I don't want to expect that Darren and I could be more than friends. Bridgette would not allow that to happen especially that she believes she is the right woman for him.
"It's time for our next subject bubs. Let's go to our class now", Clarrise stood and held my arm.
I nodded and followed her to our classroom.
Bridgette's words from earlier kept lingering in my mind, making it impossible for me to focus on my classes. She had mentioned that her parents were planning a birthday party for her in two weeks The mere thought that Darren might attend the party made me upset. 
"Bubs, are you okay?", Clarisse who had been observing me for some time asked softly. I just nodded and smiled at her.
"Bubs, relax. Darren doesn't like Bridgette. His heart belongs to you, I swear", she whispered in my ear.
Her words brought a smile to my face and managed to lift my spirit. Still, I don't want to expect too much. not until I hear it directly from Darren.
 After our class, Clarisse and I went directly to where I parked my car. I told her that I had to go home because my brother and I had something to attend to, so I couldn't join the group for a hangout. It was still 2:30 since we only had one class in the afternoon, while the rest of our groupmates had classes until four o'clock.
However, I didn't expect to encounter Bridgette and her friends on our way to the parking lot. As soon as she saw me, she raised her eyebrows and smirked. I tried to ignore her, but she approached me with a scornful expression.
"Miss Arguello, I just want to remind you, in case you forgot. Darren is mine," she said arrogantly, crossing her arms.
"Miss Bridgette, I don't understand why you're telling me this when you know that Darren and I are just friends. You know I'm a member of his group. So, what makes you think I would steal your man?" I responded calmly and emphatically.
"Just make sure you don't cross the line. I have eyes and ears everywhere on this campus, so nothing can be hidden from me!" Bridgette blurted out before leaving with her friends.
"Bubs, don't mind her, okay?" Clarisse said, holding my hand."
"It's fine bubs. Don't worry."
"Well, I have to go now. Kindly tell them, I won't be joining this time", I said as I opened the door of my car and hopped in.
"Bye bubs, enjoy your time!", I waved my hand and smiled at her.
"Bye bubs. I hope next time you can come with us!", Clarisse spoke as she waved her hand.
