"Ok baby I've handled them" Don said as he walked into the room.
"Handled them? What does that mean? What did you do to them?" Laura screamed.
"Easy now baby. I did what needed to be done".
"I hate you" she spat.
"Not a surprise"
"I won't work for you. I won't go back with you. You'd better just kill me now because I'm not planning to go back to that hell hole you call a life" she yelled.
"Oh I'm not taking you back with me dear. I had no plans to do that. I just want you dead that's all. I don't do well with bitches you know" he said laughing.
"I'm not a bitch". He walked up to her and gave her a blow. She staggered. She could swear she saw stars.
"Staying here has rubbed off on you. You've forgotten who you're talking to" he said again and gave her another blow. She saw red. He held her by the hair and gave her another blow. This time she fell flat on the floor. He laughed.
"I'm definitely enjoying this" he grimaced.
"Even if you kill me Scott won't let you go. He'll find a way to bring you down. He'll call the cops".
"You don't think I have plans for that boyfriend of yours? When I'm done with you I'll deal with him. Freak accident or something like that".
"You monster".
"Yes I know. That's why your mum screwed me all the time. I think she preferred monsters" he laughed again and gave her another punch. She cried out. The pain was too much. He brought out a knife.
"Please.... don't" she begged.
"Too late" he said and slashed her arm. She screamed as she laughed. She felt light-headed. Just as he wanted to slash her again they heard gunshots. It sounded like a cross-fire.
"Scott" she whispered as he rushed out to check what was wrong.
A short while later Laura felt a hand on her head. She opened her eyes and saw Scott's handsome face look down at her. She smiled.
"You came" she said.
"Oh thank God you're alive. I thought I'd lost you. You're pretty stubborn you know that?" He was smiling.
"I love you" she said back.
"Laura stay with me"
The door burst open and Don rushed in. He pointed his gun at Scott.
"Bastard" he spat.
"You don't have to do this man" Scott begged.
"You piece of shit. You've killed off most of my boys and you're asking me not to kill you. Think again asshole" Don growled. They heard a gunshot and when they turned around they saw Dave pointing his gun at Don. Don fell down bleeding.
"You son of a..." Don was saying but Dave kicked him.
"I'm tired of this life man. I'm sorry" he said and walked towards Scott.
"She's weak. He's hurt her too much" Scott said to Dave.
"Let's go. We'll take her to the hospital".
They both lifted Laura up but was caught short when they heard a loud bang. Scott looked at Dave in shock. Dave let go of Laura and fell down. He was bleeding profusely. Don laughed.
"Stupid piece of shit" he cussed and spat on Dave's limp body.
Scott yelled and charged towards Don. He gave him a hard punch on the face. Don returned the punch. Scott jumped on him and gave him series of punches. Don struggled for a while before pushing Scott off him and getting on him. He hit him with his elbow. He felt something hit him at the back of his head and when he turned he saw Laura standing.
"Bitch" he yelled and rushed for her. Scott grabbed his leg and he fell down. He kicked Don and got on top of him feeding him series of blows.When he was satisfied with Scott bleeding he got off him and reached for his gun. He pointed the gun at Laura. By then the crossfire outside had died. They heard the distant sound of siren.
"Don stop this. You've lost" Laura begged him. She was weak and tired and couldn't fight again.
"You're going down with me bitch" he told her and cocked the gun. He fired the gun but Scott suddenly got in the way between them.
"No"Laura yelled.
Just then Mike and Peter rushed in. They both shot him and didn't miss. Don first dropped the gun before he finally dropped to the floor. Peter rushed to meet Laura and an unconscious Scott while Mike checked to make sure Don was dead.
"He's dead" Mike announced. He checked Dave. "So is this one. Isn't this the guy that helped us?". By this time police was all over the building.
"We need an ambulance. Someone's been shot" Peter yelled. Mike rushed off. Laura fell to the ground weeping.
"C'mon dude stay with me" Peter said to Scott. "Stay with me man. You can't do this to us" he yelled. Scott opened his eyes for a while and smiled before he finally closed it.
