Mom's POV
"Is everything okay with you and Ray?"Cory asked as I got ready for my interview
"Yeah ummm.....we just had a little fight that's all"I said as I applied some lip gloss and stared at the small hand mirror
"Sandra....what I saw...I think something evil is around here....I keep wondering how...."
"Cory... listen...I know you are scared but please... whatever you saw there... don't tell to anyone"I cut her off, looking at her pleadingly. I don't want her to get involved in all this,I really hope Ray didn't leave any trace behind cause we both will be wanted again and this time
We might not escape it
"Sandra.....is everything okay?"She asked feeling worried
Shit I can't let her know I'm hiding something

"Of course I mean....it might be a mask or something...."
"It literally disappeared at my front Sandra....I never believed aliens are real"Cory said as she sat beside me and I rolled my eyes

"Sandra....look I'm sorry but I'm just really terrified okay...you promise we talk about this?"She asked, putting up her puppy face up and I signed

"You don't need it....you already nailed it...I know my boss will surely pick you and here"She handed me her car keys "I'm off from work today because of what happened"
"Thank you so much for everything Cory....I mean it"I said.I'm so glad Ray really did save her and I feel so guilty trying to stop her
I'm so terrible
So I  got into the car as Cory waved me bye as I drove off, staring at my phone at the address. I really need to make this up for Cory and my daughter
Especially my daughter
She has been through a lot,she never asked for this curse and deep down in me,I kept thinking if what my mother said about this is true or maybe it was just a coincidence
Because I believe whatever happened,it has a reason
But I waved it off,my mother can be quite spooky sometimes. She always tell stories about people with dark powers and stuff
But I don't wanna believe all those crap
I will find a way to get this stupid thing off my daughter before it will cause her own life,I will never let that happen

So I got to the place and I got down,took a long breath and looked up at the place.
It is was a police department and a needed clerk and Cory's boss is a police officer who also owns a restaurant where Cory works

So I walked in and saw few cops walking around answering some errands and phone calls buzzing around the area and some criminals being dragged in

I reached at the front desk,there sat an middle aged woman with huge glasses
"Yes, can I help you?"She asked and she take a sip of her coffee
"Yes, I ummm....I...I have an interview with..."
"Are you Miss Sandra?"She cutted me off
"Is Mrs....."
"This way....His been waiting for centuries"She cutted in again and I mentally roll my eyes
I followed her towards Cory's boss office and she pointed it and left before I could even say thank you

I don't really care right now,gotta get this over with
I knocked and I heard a voice inside telling me to come in
I opened the door slowly and saw him standing close to a window with a cigarette
I closed the door gently and walked up towards the front desk between us
He turned and looked at me,I feel like he was looking at my dress,I wore formal dress,a black long skirt with a white shirt and a black coat
"You can sit down"He said
"Thank you"I said and I sat
"Cory told me a lot about you and I think you are quite the type of person for this job"He said as he sat on his seat, putting off his cigarette
"I promise to do my best sir"I assured him and smiled and He smiled and nodded
"Well you are hired"He said
"Huh?"
I didn't hear him clearly or probably he might be joking
"I said you are hired"He said and stood up, offering a handshake and I stood up quickly and grabbed his hand
"Thank you so much sir"
"You can call me Clark"
"Thank you sir....I mean...Cl...Clark"I said and pulled out my hand and he chuckled
"Is fine,Mary will brief you more about what you gonna do"He said and I looked confused
"Mary?"
"The woman who brought you here, after that you can head back home and start work tomorrow morning"He said I nodded and walked towards the door as I opened it he called out to me
"Sandra?"
I turned towards him
"Don't make me loose my trust in you"He said with all seriousness, like he knows I might fuck this up or something
I nodded and walked out, shutting the door and I took a long breath

I got to Mary's desk and she was talking to someone on call
"Yes..... Peter please don't let her go,she's barely eighteen.....Thank you"She slammed the receiver and looked up at me
"Teenagers can be handful"I said with a smile but she wasn't even fazed by it
Here goes my familiarity
"So I guess you got hired eh.... lucky you, Clark doesn't randomly pick people to work for him"She said as she brought a huge file
"Oh....I guess I'm truly lucky"I said
"You better don't make him regret this....He hardly trust people around here....even his own wife"She said as she open up the files
"That's ummm....some real trust issues he got"I said as I got a glimps of some disturbing pictures in the file
"That trust issues is what's keeping this damn place moving so you better be careful"She said and then handed me some documents"We just got a murder case this morning and we are working on it"
I opened the file to see pictures of a dead guy being murdered in a hotel and there was Cory and someone else in there
That must be my daughter
"Do all they look familiar to you?"She asked and I looked up quickly
"What?"I asked with a tiny bit of fear in me
"I said, do you know anyone in that picture?"She asked as she stared me suspiciously
"No.... I mean....Yeah I do...I have a friend who I stay with....she was the victim"I said
This is going to be bad
I need to warn Ray to be more careful
How do I cover this mess?
"Those pictures were taken from a video tape the man was recording before he got killed"She said and I got terrified
Did they see my daughter's face?
Will they be able to crack this case?

"Did they know who the killer is?"I asked
"Do I look like a cop to you?...you should go home and study that and put down some notes for the press"She said and her phone rang again.She signed and picked it up and walked off

Damn it she doesn't have a phone yet
I walked off quickly to Cory's car and drove off heading back to her place and then my phone rang
"Hello?"I said
"Sandra....Sandra is me Martha"She said through her sobs
"Oh no...what's wrong are you okay?"I asked feeling worried
"We....we need your help....we are on our way to Canada"She said
"What is going on Martha?"I asked feeling quite scared
"They are coming Sandra....they are coming for Ray"
