“Of course not, I’m all yours.”
Michigar Sunsend’s skin glowed under the flickering light, while Jack Rungo held her tightly, his muscles rigid.
The guards watched emotionlessly.
 The two weren't just lovers; they were predators. Two sociopaths who found in each other a half of themselves.
Jack pressed Michigar against the black onyx table, his fingers tracing a slow, possessive path down her spine. She arched her body, allowing herself to be manipulated like an offering, but the wild gleam in her eyes betrayed that she would never be subdued.
“I want you to feel eternity inside me,” she murmured, her voice filled with desire.
He smiled, a wicked cut on his face sculpted by chaos.
“I am eternity.”
Jack yanked her by the hair, forcing her to look at him. There was no tenderness, only a power play that excited them more than any empty promise of love.
Michigar slid her fingers over the king’s bare chest, her nails leaving red marks on his skin.
“Do you like pain, Jack?”
He laughed, a hoarse sound full of perversion.
“I like control.”
The silk that remained on her body fell to the floor, a useless sacrifice to the voracious desire they shared.
“You belong to me,” he whispered, his voice low and threatening.
Michigar leaned in, her lips grazing his neck before whispering in response:
“I belong to the abyss. And you’ve just fallen into it.”
Jack held Michigar by the throat, pressing with calculated force, enough to make her feel his domination without taking away her control. She smiled, her eyes dilated with pleasure, her tongue running over her lips in provocation.
Michigar gasped, her chest rising and falling as her eyes met his, still hungry, still insatiable.
“That was a worthy sacrifice,” she murmured.
Jack let out a low laugh, running his fingers through her hair.
“And now, my queen, are you ready for the real fun?”
She tilted her head, a predatory smile appearing on her lips.
“Always.”
The king snapped his fingers, and immediately, the guards moved, bringing into the chamber a bound and gagged figure, one of the last descendants of the old king Jack had defeated.
Michigar licked her lips at the sight of the prisoner’s terrified expression.
“I think it’s time for a toast,” she whispered.
Jack grabbed the golden dagger at his side and slowly ran the blade over the prisoner’s arm, letting a stream of blood trickle down. He looked at Michigar and, without saying a word, offered the dagger to her.
She took the blade, sliding her finger over the sharp edge before making a delicate line across the chest of the bound man. The warm blood dripped onto the cold floor, and Michigar smiled. There was no time for the prisoner to feel pain or scream, though he tried, for the blade was sharp to the apex.
“Nothing like celebrating our union with a little art…” she murmured, drawing indecipherable symbols on the prisoner’s skin.
Jack laughed, watching her with admiration.
“You always knew how to entertain me.”
Michigar stood up, sliding her bloodstained fingers over her lips before kissing Jack, sharing the metallic taste of sacrifice.
“The true pleasure, my king, is reminding this world who rules over it.”
Jack Rungo held her face between his hands, admiring every detail of the woman who was more than his lover; she was his accomplice, his curse, his mirror.
“And we will always remind them,” he promised.
The night was just beginning, and the palace would echo with screams before dawn.
Both, the king and the queen, walked to the bed to complete the ritual.
The hall was immersed in the twilight when the metallic sound of the phone resonated through the palace. Jack Rungo slowly lifted his eyes. Michigar Sunsend, still stretched out on the silk sheets, raised an eyebrow, watching him with a half-smile.
“Answer it,” she murmured, sliding a finger over his chest.
Jack picked up the golden phone, not in a hurry, and gave a simple click that activated the hologram, displaying the image before them.
“Speak.”
“My God!” said the man, as he did not expect the image before him.
“What is it? Never seen two naked people of the opposite sex? Or better yet, you’ve never fucked?” said Jack.
“Let’s get to the point.”
“Alright.”
The voice of Zangongo came firm from the other side of the line, full of urgency and purpose.
“It’s time, Jack. We need to leave. The Kronkilas have spread through the northern regions, and the hunt can’t wait any longer.”
“Finally.” He smiled, the corner of his lips curving with dark pleasure. “I was beginning to think I’d been forgotten.”
“You were chosen for this,” Zangongo continued. “The other hunters don’t have your precision, nor your cruelty. We need to exterminate them before it’s too late.”
“Do you want company?” she murmured.
Jack held her face with one firm hand, his burning gaze locked onto the hypnotic eyes of the woman.
“Always.”
Zangongo cleared his throat from the other side.
“Jack, we leave at dawn. We can’t fail this time.”
Jack smiled, a predator’s smile, about to tear apart its prey.
“Failure was never in my plans, Zangongo. I’ll hunt the Kronkilas like it’s my last hunt. And you know what happens when I step into the battlefield…”
There was a pause. Zangongo knew exactly what Jack Rungo was capable of.
“Then I’ll see you at dawn.”
The line went silent. Jack placed the phone back on the table and turned to Michigar.
“Time to hunt, my queen.”
She ran her tongue over her lips and grabbed her silver dagger.
“I can’t wait.”
