Chapter 19 Equipped with technological gear that still needed a few upgrades, along with King Rungo, his Queen, Eseron, Alphen, Trovan, and Lessa, they prepared for their journey early in the morning. The path of rain could be felt by the sensitive ones who have lost hope and were ready, unfortunately, to anything against them. The people worked diligently, each individual with their own responsibilities, making their busyness evident. The only ones seemingly idle were the King and Queen, who waited for the green light to advance to the next phase. The sky was overcast, and the scent of rain hung in the air as Rungo, seated on a dry, cut log, stared at the beautiful landscape of the Zone he had recently conquered. From his elevated position, he had the privilege of admiring the beauty stretching into the distance. "With that look, I foresee a philosophical speech," Michigar remarked, gazing at the same view. "We don’t know where the best ideas come from, but they certainly arise from uncertain places," Rungo replied, taking a drag from the sweet poison of his cigar. Besides his weird behavior, Jack Rungo liked to think deeply about himself first, always. Thought about the internal fights and knew himself with no mask - he was hell. "I have to agree with that," said the Queen, approaching her love, leaning in, and placing a kiss on his lips. "Quite the fiery morning, huh?" the Queen said with a mischievous voice. "A man is always prepared for his responsibilities." "What responsibilities?" "I know you know what I’m talking about, but you still want to hear me argue — because that’s one of the things you admire about me." "I like your insight into yourself and others. It excites me." "I know," he said, then tossed the cigar into the air and kissed her fiercely, a kiss she returned with wild passion. The two ceased to exist in the physical world, until Eseron’s voice interrupted them: "My King, everything is ready for our journey." he was visibly tired. The people who remained after the battle to conquer Zone C would be under the care of other Fronkilas, while those preparing for the journey would accompany the royal couple to hunt the clone scoundrels, who would bring them great rewards. No one would refuse such an offer, even if it meant risking their lives. Rungo composed himself, and his Queen did the same. "Very good. I appreciate your efficiency — that’s why I chose you," said Rungo. "I admire it too, especially Eseron’s efficiency since the 2050s," said the Queen. "What I remember most from that time is how you and I met…" Rungo began but didn’t finish. "Honestly, it’s impossible to forget that era — it was terrifying and unlike any other." "Yes, it was the peak of the war against those damned creatures." Without a word, Eseron stood there, waiting for permission to proceed with another task. He wanted to say more and important things, but he couldn't interrupt the two there. … The year was 2050 when Ashlem and other renowned hunters were fighting the Unimpires —the era when the greatest Moamba Hunter emerged. In the years before his rise to fame, he showed signs of becoming exceptionally strong, though those signs sometimes seemed to vanish. Eventually, he founded his Hunter Academy, which produced many elite hunters who, after the war, took different paths. In truth, most hunters abandoned the academy after the death of the man they believed to be the Qoloy: Jack Rungo. It was a heavy blow that shattered nearly all the Intact Ones who still held hope for salvation through Jack Rungo, the Qoloy— chosen by the African god NGUNHA-MBAKU to free the people from the Kunimpires and Animpires, or simply, the Unimpires. The war ended in an epic fashion, leaving a mark on all who lived through it. Ashlem impressed every individual present, and this coincided with the death of the traitorous hunter James had trusted Qoloy — Irrugay. It was one of the worst betrayals, met with vengeance of equal measure. It was one of the moments Ashlem’s name spread across the land, earning him respect —and fear — from all, solidifying his title as the Hunter in a land full of hunters. During that same war against the Unimpires, Jack Rungo rescued the Queen, who was on the brink of death in Nero’s grasp. Alongside her, he saved the Intact Ones: Eseron, Alphen, Trovan, and Lessa. Little did he know they would become hunters and later Fronkilas — a choice that proved wise. Rungo, now had people to help him to reach his sick objective that the people were sick of feeling and knowing — cruelty.
