"Hey! Inmate 605. You have a letter." The jailer came to the door and threw in the wrapped envelope. Mr. Williams who looked way older than he actually was looked up at him and his brows furrowed. "A letter?" The jailer only gave him a scowl as he turned his back to the door. He scowled back, even though the jailer wouldn't see it, and walked to the letter. He stood by the door which was the only source of light and opened the letter. "The Mayor is investigsting. X." That was the only content of the letter, but Mr. Williams knew exactly what it meant. He shook the remaining contents of the letter, and thousand dollar bills rolled off unto the floor. Going to his knees, he immediately packed them up and pushed them into the envelope, his eyes scanning around. There was no one. He knew he had to inform Lucky, Glory bar head immediately. If the Mayor finds anything on them, he wouldn't be the only one to go down. Afterall, some of his illegal activities have already come to light and he is here, in a dark prison instead of with his young wife. He shook his head and thought of what to do. He had no way of sending out information, except...he looked up to the jailer who had his back to him, then at the money in the envelope. Money was a good enough trap for any man, and that was something he knew very well. "Hey." He whispered to the jailer. The jailer didn't turn to him, but he knew he heard. "Fancy a few thousand dollars?" He asked, and pushed a note into the man's hand. The man turned, his eyes wide. "What are you doing?" Mr. Williams shrugged. "Helping you take care of a little outstanding bills here and there. How much do they even pay you here?" The jaikewr's eyes thinned until they becane tiny slits. "What do you want?" "Not much." He pressed another bill into the man's hand. "I believe someone else needs to see this letter more than I do." "What do you mean?" The jailer asked, his hand clutching on to the money. I am just saying....all that money is yours of you deliver this letter to someone else." "Is that all?" The jailer asked, his eyes wide. Mr. Williams was offering so much money for something so easy. "Of course. And when you come back, I have a few thousands for you." He waved the envelope in his hand, a sly smike on his face. "What do I have to do?" The jailer asked eagerly. "I will write down the address. When you go there, ask for lucky and deliver this letter to him." He pushed the letter he had received to the jailer, who brought out a pen. Mr. Williams took back the letter and wrote the address on it, his smile wide. He then pushed it back to the jailer who collected it. "I will go once I am off at 5." The jailer said. "Hurry." He said as he slowly walked away from the door and back into the darkness. Elijah worked through the files calmly, as Ivan helped him out. "I thought Jennifer would come with you," Ivan said, watching Elijah. "I thought she was helping you with this case." Elijah sighed. "The details are too gruesome, so I can't let her go through it all." "I think she can handle it. She is pretty strong." Elijaj thought back to the day she had assuned it was her sister. The hysterical cries and the hard time he had putting her to sleep. "I have seen her break down too. Even the strongest peoole need a break from the endless trials of life, you know." Ivan smirked. "Now you sound like a poet." "I think I always have," He replied sharply, thinking back to Jennifer's comment on his speech. "Did she tell you that too?" Ivan asked, dropping a file, and Elijah rolled his eyes. "Let's go visit the site today. Open up our lines in case there are any clues or pointers from people. You just never know." Ivan nodded and continued sorting out the files as Elijah let his mind wander back to Jennifer. He found himself wondering if she was okay, if she had eaten, and how she felt after he hugged her that morning. He had done it purely on instinct, but he would be a liar to say he regret it. He has never really been that bold with any other woman, but there had really been no use to be. He never felt such tenderness for any other woman and he was still finding it hard to come to terms with it. It was like a pull he couldn't understand and he wondered just how long he had managed to ignore it. The jailer trudged his way through the dirty half flooded area, the letter clutched in his hand. He had made sure to change to casual clothes before he came, and had a baseball hat on his head to cover his face. He knocked on the door, and waited for someone to open it. The man only opened just enough for him to see the other man's face. "I am looking for Lucky. I have a message for him." The man looked at him from head to toe, then came out, making sure to close the door behind him. "I am the one. What is it?" The jailer brought out the message from his pocket and thrust it to the man. "Here." Lucky collected it and opened it slowly, then read the contents. He didn't need another telling, as he nodded to the man and walked back inside. He went straight up to the small office at the top of the bar, where most of the girls that worked downstairs had to pass an "assessment test" with him. He picked up a phone and dialled a nimber then waited for the person on the other line. "I am going to suspend all activities of the bar. The mayor is investigating." The other voice gave a small scoff. "He won't be able to do anything, even if he finds me. Send him clues and lead him to me. I will take care of it."
