Chapter 30 She had the perfect Alpha

“Jacob?” she said softly as he was looking up at the moon. It was a beautiful night, and she couldn’t have asked for it to be any more perfect.
“Yeah?”
“Can I ask you something?” she asked him nervously.
“Sure,” he said as he turned his body to face hers.
“Why… Why now?” she asked.
“Why now? What do you mean?” he asked.
“Why are you being so nice to me now? Why didn’t you do it before?” she questioned him as she sat up and turned her body to face his. “I mean, I don’t want to ruin the moment or anything. It’s just… I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, and I would like to know why.”
Jacob sighed as he sat up and looked up at the sky before answering her question. “Because I realized I almost lost you,” he admitted.
Autumn raised her eyebrows. “What do you mean you almost lost me?”
she asked, confused.
Jacob ran a hand through his hair. “It took me a long time to realize that I wasn’t treating you as good as I should have been. And when you broke up with me, I knew I screwed up, and I knew that I would do whatever it takes to get you back. And even if you don’t take me back, I still want to prove to you that I can be a good mate.”
Autumn was speechless. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Jacob was actually admitting his mistakes and apologizing to her. “I… Wow, Jacob… I don’t know what to say.”
Jacob chuckled. “You don’t have to say anything.”
“I’ve missed you,” she whispered, looking up at the stars.
She wanted to be honest with Jacob and not lie to him anymore. She really had missed him.
“I’ve missed you too,” Jacob said as he grabbed her hand in his. She felt that spark again as his fingers intertwined with hers.
Autumn turned to him and gave him a smile. “Thank you for doing this with me,” she told him sincerely.
“No problem,” Jacob responded, smiling back at her. “I’d do anything to make you smile.”
Autumn felt her heart melt. Alpha Jacob Weston, the man who never smiled, was smiling because of her. It was like a dream, and she never wanted to wake up.
“What are you thinking about?” Jacob asked her, interrupting her thoughts.
Autumn turned to Jacob and looked into his deep brown eyes. “That I would really like to kiss you right now,” she admitted shyly.
Jacob gave her his famous crooked smile, which made her smile back. He leaned in slowly and captured her lips with his. Autumn kissed him back as she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to her. She felt like she was on cloud nine.
She had her happily ever after.
Autumn Clover was living her dream life. She had the perfect Alpha, a family she could rely on, and her own business to keep her busy.
She had the life she always dreamed of as a child. Her father would tell her stories about the life she would have as a Luna, and she would dream of a kind mate that would treat her as an equal and make her feel like a Queen.
It took her a while to find the perfect mate, but she had. Jacob Weston was kind, patient, and loving. He knew just what to say and when to say it. He knew exactly what to do to make her happy, and she loved it.
She adored him.
She was now in her late twenties and was still yet to have any children. She would get pregnant, but it would be a short-term pregnancy. She was almost starting to lose hope of ever having any children.
But Jacob never stopped trying, and neither did she.
He was the reason she never gave up hope.
They tried everything. She took so many fertility drugs, had so many procedures done, but nothing worked. Her Alpha never gave up and always gave her the support she needed. He never let her go through any of it alone.
He was a wonderful Alpha.
He always was.
Autumn was always excited to go to work. She ran her own flower shop, and it was the happiest place to be. Her shop was always full of light and bright colors. It made her happy and was a place where she felt comfortable and loved.
She was always there before her shop opened, and today was no different. It was a little after 6 AM, and she was already in her shop, getting everything ready. She loved to get in early to get everything perfect for when customers arrived.
She would sit at the desk at the front of the store, looking over all the orders that she had to get out and complete by the end of the day. There were so many to get through, so she better start now.
As she worked away, she could hear the door to her shop open and close.
“Morning Autumn. You are in early.” Alpha Weston smiled at her.
She smiled back at him, “You know me. I love to get in nice and early. It makes the day so much better.” She said as she continued to write.
Jacob looked down at her and smiled. He loved her dedication and her passion for her work. He admired her so much. It didn’t matter what she did; she would always go above and beyond.
He looked over the paperwork, and she had already completed almost half of the orders. He loved how she always got ahead of herself. She never liked to rush through things. She preferred to do them thoroughly and do them well.
“You have been busy.” He said as he kissed her on top of her head.
“I am not as busy as you. I can’t imagine how many people you have to deal with on a daily basis.” She said as she looked up at him with her big hazel eyes. She knew how much he hated dealing with people.
He hated dealing with anyone other than her.
“It’s all worth it when I get to come here and see you. I would spend all day dealing with the most annoying people if it meant I could see your beautiful smile.” He replied with a smile.
She looked up at him and smiled, “You’re such a charmer.”
“I’m not charming you; I’m just telling you the truth.” He said.
“You’re also very good at saying the right words at the right time.” She replied with a smile as she finished writing.
“I only know what to say because of you. You are the love of my life. I would do anything for you.” He replied.
She smiled at his words.
He knew exactly what to say to make her smile and make her feel loved. He could say anything to make her feel that way.
He looked around her flower shop as she continued working, and he noticed something on her desk.
“What are these?” He asked, pointing at a pamphlet on the desk.
“Oh, that.” She said, looking at the pamphlet in his hand.
“It’s a fertility treatment center. I am thinking of going and seeing if they can help.” She said.
“Is everything alright, my love?” He asked.
“I just thought I could try it one more time. I have tried everything else, and nothing seems to work.” She replied.
“Why don’t we wait and see how everything goes? We don’t need to try anymore if you don’t want to.” He said, placing the pamphlet back on the desk and caressing her cheek.
“I know we don’t need to, but I can’t help but want to try again. I want us to have a child so badly.” She replied, looking at him.
“I want to have a child with you just as much as you do. I want to be a father and a husband, and I want you to be a mother and a Luna.” He replied.
“I just hope it’s not too late.” She replied.
“We will never be too late. I will wait until the day I die for you if I had to.” He replied as he leaned in and kissed her on the lips.
