Esmeralda's Point of View
I was awoken to an incessant tapping in my shoulder. Nyanbena's wide excited smile welcomed my eyes.
“Umm..... happy morning?”
“Very.”
She energetically helped me to get up and looked at me with inquisitive yet excited eyes. Wow, I know this place has a happy and Energetic atmosphere but I didn't know it could drastically drag someone out of bed with elastic energy. I tapped her shoulder and looked at her seriously.
“I'm really happy for you Nyanbena, really, that you manage to have a good morning but you know, I am still recovering with my current circumstances so I can't smile with you right now.”
“Well, I would be laughing if the excitement is about me but it is about you my dear. I was notified this dawn that a prominent Italian authority is looking for a beautiful sexy Asian woman wh-”
“Really? Where is he?!”
I got up faster than fast and furious and quickly slipped my sandals.
Nyanbena widened her eyes with suspicious smirk. “Who is he? I haven't told you yet if that authority is he or she but you already knew. ”
I laughed slightly. I'm really willing to give all details as to who is this pathetic man but I don't have time for it so I just told her the easiest reasoning there is.
“He's my boyfriend.”hahaha, what a lie.
Nyanbena laugh again, almost thrilled. “Oh I see, now I am quite suspicious. ”
“What do you mean?”
“Are you really lost or did you two have a fight?”
I arked my eyebrows in disbelief. “Nyanbena, do you really think of me as those kinds of women? I am a very busy woman with a lot of burden in mt shoulder. I don't even have any time to quarrel with anyone,let alone with my.... boyfriend. Now please, I will do my best to explain my current dilemma to you again if you didn't believe me but I first need to see this...person.”
“Okay okay, well, humour me later because I heard he used a private jet.”
We arrived to where we landed before, and where I almost lost my head. Indeed, a luxurious private jet is exclusively parked, covering almost the whole ground. There are people talk-
“My dear Esmeralda!!”
“Ahhhh!” I couldn't stop the tears pouring from my eyes while I run towards her. “Amabel....”
I saw Lucretius' surly face but I couldn't care more. I cried in the embrace of Amabel while nonno Alejandro tapped my shoulder.
“I'm very sorry my dear. I am truly sorry, I.....”I gently caressed her back when she also began crying.
“It's fine Amabel, it's not your fault. I don't know what happened but as long as I'm fine, please don't blame yourself.”
She shook her head, still tearing up. “My dear, it's my fault. I offered a ride to you that was not totally secure. You got into this...”she looked around with obvious fear and anger. “this very secluded and somewhat unsafe place.”
I smiled dearly as we both looked at each other. “It's not unsafe Amabel, in fact I found someone who was very kind hearted.”
I turned my gaze towards Nyanbena who was busy being interviewed by Lucretius. She is smiling weirdly.
“She really helped me a lot Amabel. I wouldn't be where and what I am today if she didn't notice me almost losing my head yesterday. I might've been...” I stop as I couldn't voice out the word.
“Been dead?”
“Th-that's not what I mean but yes, I might've been close to death if she didn't found me. Anyway, thank you for coming. Thank you for saving me.”
She patted my head gently as she turned towards Lucretius. “He declared your disappearance to the whole world.”
“What?! I-”
“Well, you were suddenly missing while you are traveling so it's either you were lost, abducted, killed or all of the above around the whole globe. So, it's really hard for us to find you. The only best and fast solution we could think of, is the aid of internet.”
“So, how did you find me then?”
“That we wil explain later. You need to,”she eyed me up and down. “You need to rest up my dear.”
“O-okay, but I need to thank Nyanbena first. She's my savior.”
“Sure sure my dear, don't worry, we will acknowledge her. We are to gift her something for her kind heart.”
After expressing my gratefulness to Nyanbena, Amabel asked her what she wanted in return. Although she said she will not accept anything,Amabel insisted on giving her a gift. Lucretius on the other hand didn't give her a chance to resist. He gave her a car.
I don't know what's that suppose to mean but when I saw Nyanbena's eyes sparkling with happiness, I concluded Lucretius might've asked someone else she knows on what she likes.
I was greeted with my mom's frustrated face when we landed in Italy. Which surprised me because Amabel didn't tell me they are here.
“My dear daughter, thank God you are alive. What on Earth happened dear?”Her eyes were clearly bloated from crying.
“I don't know mom, but I think I am drugged and was transferred to the plane of that place. Fortunately, someone has enough heart to help me.”
Mom chuckled as she pulled me in a tight embrace. “Don't ever let yourself be taken like that again. Thank God they didn't do anything to you.”
“Yes mom, thank God for that. So, are these people caught yet? Where are they?”
“Calm down Esmy, calm down. They're not caught yet but I heard your- I mean I heard mr. Lucretius has already identified who they are. And even found a lead of where they are. It seems you were used to warn mr. Lucretius.”
“What do you mean mom?”
Mom sat me on the sofa as she grabbed the ominous-looking letter that was freely sitting in the table. We have arrived at Lucretius' house and mom's eyes openly shows my initial reaction as well when I first came here. She said she will admire everything later since she was able to when Lucretius arranged for her to come here because she was busy crying for me.
“Open and read that.”
The letter was pure black and the front had the beautifully written name of Lucretius. ‘What does this have to do with my abduction?’
I was curious but when I took my time to read what's aesthetically yet dangerously written in the letter, I almost crumpled it.
‘Oh Lucretius, how are you little boy? I have been waiting for a long time you know. I thought you just weren't able to find it, but what a sudden twist of fate. You found something different to focus on. I just had it hiding for you so you'll remember what you're brought up for. Finding things. Good luck if you find it, I hope you will.’
“What on Earth it this?! Am I a joke to them?! What does this even mean?!”
Mom patted my shoulder while smiling dearly. “Mr. Lucretius already expressed his sincere apology for that. He said he will do everything to make them pay for what they did to you. And in the mean time, he said he will do his best to protect us, especially you.”Mom chuckled in obvious thrill. “I smell destiny making it's way.”
“Mom, are tou kidding me? I just got abducted and possibly even killed yet that's what you're going to think abou-ouch! Mom, why would you hit me? I'm already so weak, you really have no mercy don't you.”
“Dom't ever say such things. I did not give birth to you just to see you dying first than me! Now, listen to me my dear child.”
