"A good person? What do you mean? What are you talking about? I don’t understand." Diana was about to say something, but she saw someone appear behind Revan. That person was wearing the same uniform, indicating they were a student. It turned out that another student had already arrived at school. The student was still quite far from them, but Diana had already noticed her. Eventually, Diana decided to walk away from Revan because the student was a girl. Diana was afraid that the girl might be one of Revan’s fans. What happened next completely surprised Diana—Revan suddenly chased after her and grabbed her hand. "You haven’t answered my question. Didn’t you hear me?" Revan asked, demanding an answer. Startled, Diana stammered, "Uh… well… if you don’t know what I meant, then try to remember what happened when you transferred and met me in middle school," Diana said. "What? But I can’t remember. Besides, I’ve attended so many schools during middle school." "Okay, fine. Follow me. We need to talk about this somewhere private." Diana gave in and led Revan to the school rooftop. "Where is this place?" Revan asked. Suddenly, Diana felt like teasing him. Honestly, she found it amusing that Revan was asking so many questions. This wasn’t like the Revan she knew—he just needed to follow her. "It’s inside the school grounds," Diana answered vaguely, knowing full well that Revan wouldn’t be satisfied with her response. "Did you think I assumed you were taking me off campus?" Revan replied. Diana chuckled at that. "I never said that." "Yeah, and I don’t remember saying it either. So your answer was unclear." "But my answer wasn’t wrong. Anyway, we’re here." Diana pointed out that they had already arrived at the secluded rooftop. The wind blew gently, sending a chill through the morning air. Diana walked up to the railing that surrounded the rooftop. "Just ask me what you want to know first. I don’t even know where to start explaining," Diana said as she leaned against the railing. Revan stepped closer to where Diana stood. "When did I ever attend the same middle school as you?" "You transferred in when we were in first year. It was already the second semester. Midterm exams were about to start. Your arrival was just like when you transferred here recently." "Then why did you say I was a good person back then? How could you not know or understand my reputation at school? Everyone already knows what kind of person I am." Diana smiled and looked down at the schoolyard. Slowly, more and more students were filling the area below. She then recalled an incident from three years ago. Taking a deep breath, she prepared to explain everything to Revan. And maybe, in the end, it wouldn’t just be an explanation—it would be a long story. — Diana bought a canned drink from the school cafeteria but didn’t buy any food, even though she hadn’t eaten anything. She was too eager to check the results of the selection test for the school’s Olympiad competition. That’s right—Diana wanted to know if she had qualified to represent the school or not. So, she only bought a drink. She could endure hunger but not thirst. When Diana arrived at the bulletin board where the announcement was posted, she saw a crowd gathered around it. Many others had the same goal as her. She deliberately slowed her pace, hoping that by the time she reached the board, the crowd would thin out, making it easier for her to check the announcement. Her plan worked. By the time she got there, only a few students remained. As she sipped her canned drink, she scanned the board for the Olympiad announcement. Not seeing it right away, she moved to the side while still searching. Suddenly, someone loudly called her name and tapped her shoulder just as she was taking a sip. "Diana!" The loud voice startled her, making her ears ring. In shock, Diana accidentally spat out her drink and began coughing. But that wasn’t the worst part. She was even more horrified when she saw the furious expression of the person standing in front of her. Oh no, she thought anxiously. Diana didn’t even have time to process who had startled her. Her attention was now fixated on the person who was visibly fuming. She had just sprayed her drink onto someone’s neck and uniform. And to make matters worse, that person wasn’t just any student. He was someone well-known for his arrogance—because his father was the regional chief of police. Everyone respected him. No one dared to cross him. The person who had just become the victim of Diana’s accident was a male student. He had been about to walk away after checking the announcement when Diana’s drink splashed onto him. Luckily, it had only stained the upper part of his uniform and his neck, not his face. But even that was enough to make him furious. Who wouldn’t be angry in his situation? To make things worse, the other students around them burst into laughter, further fueling his rage. It wasn’t just anger—it was anger mixed with humiliation. Everyone was laughing—everyone except Diana and her unfortunate victim. Even the person who had startled Diana was laughing at first. But soon, the laughter died down. The entire crowd fell silent. Because the victim’s expression had turned terrifying. Michael Moyes. Diana’s heart sank as she realized who he was. Who didn’t know Michael? A student who was feared and respected—not because he was part of the student council, but because of his powerful father. And now, Diana was in serious trouble. "Are you just going to stand there?!" Michael’s voice was sharp and demanding. Diana held her breath. She had to respond. If she stayed silent or tried to run, things would only get worse. Michael would only get angrier, and she wouldn’t be able to escape him. Finally, she spoke. "I’m sorry. It was an accident. I didn’t mean to. I sincerely apologize." "That’s not enough. My uniform won’t magically dry and clean itself just because you apologized." Diana clenched her fists. "Then… I’ll clean it for you," she offered. Michael scoffed. "What’s the point? I’ll just change into a new one," he said dismissively. What does he want, then? Diana braced herself, determined to endure whatever came next.
