Chapter 78 : Althea Ysabel Sun POV
The world around Althea rippled, not with the gentle sway of sleep, but with an insistent pulse that vibrated through her very being. She stood not in her familiar bedroom, but in a swirling expanse of twilight hues, where stars stretched like living threads across an endless canvas. A voice, like the soft chime of a thousand ancient clocks, echoed through the vastness. " Welcome, Althea Ysabel." From the shimmering air, a figure coalesced. Her form seemed woven from starlight and shadow, her eyes glinting with the wisdom of ages. This was Ethel, the Goddess of Time, and the very fabric of existence seemed to hum in her presence. Before Althea could fully process Ethel's appearance, another figure emerged from the swirling twilight. Her presence was softer, yet no less commanding, her hands gently cradling what appeared to be an ancient, glowing tome. This was Monica, the Goddess of the Sacred Book, her gaze deep and knowing. "We have been waiting for you, Althea," Monica said, her voice a comforting murmur that nonetheless carried immense authority. Althea, though bewildered, felt a strange sense of recognition, a pull towards these ethereal beings. "Waiting for me? What… what is this place?" Ethel's voice resonated, "This is not a place, child. This is a crossroads within your own mind, a gateway to the truth you are destined to embrace." Monica stepped closer, the light from her sacred book illuminating Althea's face. "The threads of time are unraveling, Althea. The past, once immutable, has been tampered with. A fracture has appeared, threatening to unravel not just history, but the very fabric of what is to come." Althea's heart pounded. "A fracture? What are you talking about?" "A grave mistake," Ethel stated, her voice now edged with a solemn urgency. "An act of profound disruption in an age long past. The consequences ripple forward, corrupting the present, twisting the future into a form it was never meant to take." "And you, Althea," Monica continued her voice firm, "You are the key. The prophecy speaks of a warrior, one whose spirit is bound to the echoes of what was, yet strong enough to forge what must be. You are that warrior." Althea stumbled back, the weight of their words pressing down on her. "Me? A warrior? I don't understand. What could I possibly do?" Ethel’s gaze intensified. "You possess a unique resonance with the flow of time, a connection that few others do. It allows you to perceive the echoes, the discrepancies, even in your waking life. That sensitivity is not a weakness, Althea it is your greatest strength." "The sacred texts reveal the exact point of divergence," Monica added, gesturing to her book, which now pulsed with an inner light. "We will guide you to it, but the journey, the confrontation… that will be yours alone. You must venture back to that crucial moment and set right what was broken." A cold dread settled over Althea. "Go back in time? How? And what if I fail? What if I make it worse?" "Failure is not an option," Ethel declared, her voice now a powerful crescendo that vibrated through Althea's very bones. "If the past remains, the future you know, the people you love all will cease to exist as they should. Reality itself will tear apart." "This is not a request, Althea," Monica said, her voice softening slightly, but her eyes held an unyielding resolve. "This is your destiny. The fate of countless generations rests on your shoulders. You carry the spark of restoration within you, the ability to weave the broken threads back into the truth." Althea looked from Ethel's unyielding, starlit gaze to Monica's profound, ancient eyes. The weight of their words was immense, a burden she never imagined she'd carry. Yet, within the fear, a flicker of something else ignited it's a sense of purpose, of an undeniable calling. "You must embrace this," Ethel urged, her voice echoing with the force of time itself. "There is no other path for you, Althea. Not anymore. The past awaits its healer. The future cries out for its champion." Monica closed her sacred book with a soft thud, the light receding but the power remaining palpable. "Are you ready, Althea Ysabel, to mend the echoes and forge your true path?" "You should follow what the fate's want you to do." "You must let the fate decide for the future." "You must not interfere with fate, It will cost you a life in exchange." "Be the pawn, in this game...." The dream world around Althea intensified, the swirling colors demanding an answer. She took a deep breath, the gravity of her mission settling into her soul. There was no escaping this. Her life, as she knew it, was about to change forever.
