Emma's POV
A few minutes felt like an eternity, and it was time to check the results. Trembling, I looked at the screen with the test results. Was this true? As I looked at the results, a mixture of excitement and uncertainty came over me.
When I came out of the bathroom, Logan looked at me with worried eyes. “Are you okay? What were the results?” he asked softly.
Breathing hard, I tried to find the right words. Whatever the results were, I knew we would face it together.
“Yes, I’m pregnant,” I said, my voice filled with a mixture of excitement and tension.
The expression on Logan’s face changed instantly. I could see the shock, then a wide smile spread across his face. “Are you serious?” he asked, his eyes shining with happiness.
I nodded, slightly touched by his positive reaction. “Yeah, I’ve never felt like this before. I don’t know how to feel,” I replied, my heart quivering with joy and worry about the consequences that would follow.
Logan immediately reached for my hand and held it tightly. “This is amazing news! We’re going to be parents again!” he said, his voice full of excitement.
I chuckled, but at the same time, I felt a little pressured. “I know, but how are we going to manage it all? Our kids are all grown up, and this means we have to start over,” I said, feeling the weight of responsibility come back.
“Don’t worry, Emma. We’ll get through this together. We’ve been through so much, and this is just part of our journey. I’ll be right there by your side, and we’ll do this together,” Logan replied, looking at me with genuine reassurance.
Hearing his words made my heart feel lighter. We’d been through so much, and with our love and commitment to each other, we could get through anything—including this new journey of pregnancy.
“Thank you, Logan. I feel so much better now that I’m here with you,” I said, growing excited at the thought of what the future might hold for us.
“And I’m glad we’re one step closer to being a family. For now, let’s focus on your health and maintaining our relationship,” she added, showing how she was always ready to support me.
With hearts full of hope and enthusiasm, we left the clinic, ready to start a new chapter in our life journey. Whatever happens, I know we will face it together with love and understanding.
The doctor then explained that what I experienced yesterday until today was the result of my pregnancy. She gave a clear and detailed explanation of the symptoms that might appear, including the nausea, vomiting, and dizziness that I was experiencing. After listening to the doctor’s explanation, I realized how important it is to maintain my health during this pregnancy.
The doctor then suggested some steps to help overcome the nausea and dizziness that I was feeling. “Try to eat small portions but often. Don’t forget to drink enough water and if the nausea is too severe, I can also prescribe medication to help relieve the symptoms,” she said while writing down some important things in a notebook.
“I will listen to all your suggestions carefully because this is for my own good, too,” I said, trying to show that I was ready to follow her instructions for the sake of my health and the health of the baby.
Then, unable to contain my curiosity, I asked, “Are I having twins?” My face filled with anticipation as I waited for an answer, even though deep down I knew it was probably too early to tell.
The doctor smiled gently and replied, “No, you’re having a singleton. A singleton pregnancy is very common, and we can also do further tests to make sure everything is going well.”
I was relieved to hear that I was having a singleton. While twins sounded exciting, I realized that taking care of one baby was already a challenge, let alone more than one. “Okay, thank you, Doctor. I’m glad everything looks fine.”
After the tests were over and all my questions were answered, I felt a little more at ease. This was all part of the new journey we were about to embark on as a family, and I felt more prepared for whatever was to come.
After I left the doctor’s office, Logan waited patiently. “How did it go?” he asked with concern.
“Everything is fine, I’m pregnant, and the doctor gave me some advice on how to deal with nausea. It turns out it’s a singleton,” I replied, feeling a big smile spread across Logan’s face.
“This is such happy news! We will face this together, there is no doubt about it,” he said, hugging me tightly and making me feel safe.
We walked out of the hospital with hearts full of hope. We were going to be parents again, and despite the challenges ahead, I knew that with our love and support for each other, we would make it through this journey.
When I got home, I found the kids already home, having adventures in the living room and leaving their usual noise trail.
“What happened to you, Mom?” Adney asked, his face showing concern when he saw me.
I smiled, trying to convey the good news with enthusiasm. “Hey, you guys. You’re going to have a brother or sister soon!” I said, my hope embedded in every word.
“Oh really? Wow, the house is going to be filled with the sound of babies crying again, hooray!” Allonza cheered, looking excited and happy. She jumped up and down with joy, and a big smile couldn’t be hidden from her face.
Hearing their reactions warmed my heart. The children’s enthusiasm and excitement were infectious, and I felt how wonderful it is to have a family that supports each other. Their joy made all the uncertainties and struggles seem so much smaller.
“I’m going to be a great sister!” Allonza exclaimed, running over to me and hugging me. “I can’t wait to play with our baby!”
Adney smiled widely, “Can we start thinking of a name for him? I already have some ideas!” he looked excited and very enthusiastic.
Suddenly, the entire living room was filled with joy and laughter. My family is a place where love and happiness meet, and I felt even more grateful for the journey we were on together.
“I’m so proud of you,” I said lovingly, “We’re ready to welcome this new member to our family. Remember, this isn’t just Mom and Dad’s job, it’s all about you.”
The children nodded, excited for this new adventure. We were all united, ready to embark on an exciting journey as a larger family.
All the conversations and excitement made the atmosphere in the house feel brighter and warmer. With every laugh and cheer, I felt all the tension and pain I had been dealing with for the past few days start to ease. A sense of gratitude filled my heart, making me realize that we not only supported each other but also shared the same dreams and hopes.
“What do you guys think about helping prepare something for the baby?” I asked, wanting to involve them in this journey.
“We can make a poster to welcome the baby!” Ainsley quickly suggested, her creative ideas always making the atmosphere more lively.
“And we can start looking for a good name!” Adney added, looking very excited about her idea.
Their smiles and enthusiasm lifted my spirits even more. “That’s a great idea! Let’s do it!” I exclaimed, feeling excited.
We started gathering colorful paper and paints while discussing what name would be suitable for the baby. The sound of children’s laughter and joy filled the house, and I felt like I had gone back to the good old days when they were little.
As they drew and wrote, I sat beside them, watching with gratitude. This is true happiness—a family supporting each other, celebrating precious moments, and looking forward to the future ahead.
“Let’s make a list of names, and we can pick them together when the baby arrives! How about that?” I said after seeing the sketches and names they suggested.
Everyone enthusiastically agreed, and we spent the day filled with creativity and love. As I continued to share this happiness, I became more confident that this new journey would bring us closer together.
