A Last Warning

Jasmine's expression froze at Xavier's hideous appearance. The corners of her mouth slightly pursued, and her eyesight was sharp, it seemed she wasn't expecting Xavier to appear in front of them at that moment.
Xavier, on the other hand, controlled himself and the fire that was raging within him. He was glad he had just come in time. However, the contentment soon perished the moment Noah grabbed Jasmine's wrist and plunged right into his chest carelessly.
Noah reached out and stroked a wisp of Jasmine's hair and tossed it behind an ear, without leaving immediately, he stroked all the way along the outline of her ear and stopped at her earlobe. His eyes were quite deep while his hot fingers went through the side of her neck.
“I'm sorry, Jasmine, but I have to do this,”
he said gently while he approached her lips little by little, and she could feel his sharp eyes and eyebrows clearly as well as feel his breathing.
His lips covered hers and turned into a deep kiss. Jasmine felt like she was in a dreamlike state where everything was so blurry and surreal, like a bubble in an illusion which burst after a poke.
Xavier stared, his eyes were round and the pupils of his eyes bulging outwards. He rushed up and hauled Jasmine from Noah's grasp. “What's the meaning of this, Jasmine?” he bawled at Jasmine, holding her arms and shaking her vigorously. His withered hands were full of rippling veins.
“What do you mean, Doctor Xavier? My boyfriend and I were kissing, but you interrupted us, shouldn't I be the one asking what's the meaning of what you did?” her tone was presumptuous, and she only looked at him in disdain.
During this time, there was a trace of a triumphant smile flitting behind Noah's handsome eyes. Xavier soon spotted this and abruptly let go of Jasmine, then charged towards Noah and clasped his clothing in his hands.
“You bastard. The next time I see you come any close to Jasmine then I'm going to kill you with both hands” he threatened ferociously, his temple were tightened into a line and the popped-out veins keeps jumping out.
Putting away his smile, “I don't understand. Who are you to tell me to stay away from my woman?” Noah asked, looking quite sharp.
“You scoundrel, how dare you to call her your woman!” Xavier roared like a furious lion and gave Noah a hard punch in his jaw.
In apprehension, Jasmine rushed to separate them, “Xavier, are you crazy? How dare you lay your hands on him?” she screeched, endeavoring to drag Xavier away, but he wouldn't budge. He was stubborn, like having a mental illness.
“Tell him to stay away from you, Jasmine; otherwise I will kill him,” he cried out hysterically, his neck and temples all tensed up with blue veins standing out.
Noah, who had a powerful smile on his face, didn't even attempt to release himself from his grip as he continued to stare at Xavier's raged expression.
With all the strength left in Jasmine, he pulled Xavier away, raised her hand, and gave him a hard slap. It was so hard that even she felt her palm stinging her slightly afterward.
“You're the real rascal, Xavier, now get out of here,” Jasmine screeched, the fierceness in her eyes glowing.
Xavier's hand flew up to touch his red cheek of its own accord, and the corner of his eyes crinkled as he narrowed his eyes a bit.
“Jasmine…” he called out in a trembling voice, “I said get out!” Jasmine yelled, interrupting his unfinished words.
She walked briskly to where Noah was standing as tears welled up in her eyes. Seeing his torn lips, a hint of sadness flashed through her beautiful eyes. Out of the corner of her eyes, she peeked in Xavier's direction to see whether he was still standing there or not.
Fortunately, Xavier had walked away in animosity, knowing fully well that he would meet Jasmine later.
“I'm so sorry, Mr. Cooper,” she apologized, her eyes were already swimming with tears.
“Come on now, Jasmine, it's nothing, I'm fine,” Noah said with a reassuring smile, but Jasmine could only shake her head sideways industriously, feeling remorseful.
“No, Mr. Cooper, you sustained a cut because of me. I'm deeply sorry,” she lowered her head apologetically, fondling with her slender fingers.
“Look at my face and tell me, Jasmine,” he urged her, and she directly looked up at his face, sniffing.
“The cut hasn't affected my good look anyhow, right?” his face grew impersonal, yet had a playful and seductive look.
Jasmine chuckled softly and shook her head, “At all, Mr. Cooper, but come with me now, let me clean the bloodstains”
“No, Jasmine, I'm alright. I should get going now,” he notified with a smile and turned around toward his car before Jasmine could think of her next words.
In a matter of moments, Jasmine had changed into her uniform and was now heading to a particular ward to check on her patients. However, her movement was quite monotonous.
The event that transpired between her, Noah, and Xavier wouldn't stop dwelling on her. And thinking of Xavier, her temper skyrocketed. She thought in her heart that, Xavier should be put in his place for the stupid stunt he pulled back there.
“Doctor Xavier,” Jasmine called out, barging into his office after a knock and not waiting for his permission.
Xavier's eyes twitched, staring at this woman in surprise. He couldn't help but think that this new Jasmine was quite marveling.
Rising to his feet and smiling so big as if nothing hasn't occurred between them this morning, “My love. How are you doing?” his tone was enthralling, and the softness between his eyebrows has never appeared before.
Jasmine just scoffed scornfully, amounting her footsteps closer to his rectangular desk.
“I don't have an idea of what you're scheming, Xavier, and believe me, I do not want to know” Jasmine pronounced pointedly, looking quite sharp.
“I only came here to remind you of your place in my life, Xavier. You're my ex-boyfriend, meaning that you're someone who used to exist in my life” she continued, staring at him heatedly.
“You existed in my past life, Xavier, but not in my current life. The next time you repeat the shit you did out there, I hope you wouldn't hold me accountable for what I do,” she spelled her words through clenched teeth and swiftly spun around after she said that.
“Wait a minute, Jasmine,” Xavier said softly, halting Jasmine's pace.
He came out of his desk and ambled closer to her, “I know I've wronged you, Jasmine, I know that,” he began, looking quite remorseful.
“But believe me, I've realized my mistakes, Jasmine, you don't need to go to this length just to see me suffer,” Hearing this, Jasmine turned back to look at him and laughed out maniacally.
“What do you mean, Xavier?” she asked amidst laughter, and Xavier became startled by her sudden yet unreal laughter.
“You see. After you left me, I already made a vow not to fall in love again. However, a man like Noah Cooper is extraordinary. He makes me fall in love with him over and over again, I love him so much, Xavier, and all thanks to you for the great opportunity,” she enunciated with a broad wink, and Xavier's mouth went agape in an instant.
“Don't intrude in my relationship again, Xavier, this is my last warning to you,” she put away her facade smile and spoke seriously this time.
Their eyes were level. Jasmine glared hard at him, while Xavier could only stare at her in shock. Without any further ado, Jasmine swiveled around and then dash for the door.
In Cooper's group.
Noah Cooper sat on his swivel seat with his legs crossed. His right thumb has been lagging around his lips for some time now, with a shy smile flitting across his face. Thinking back to how he had clung his lips to Jasmine's, his belly churned while his Adam's rolled up and down as he shut his eyes briefly.
He couldn't deny the fact that he loved the feeling of her soft and small lips colliding with his. However, in his opinion, the reason he was feeling elated about the kiss was that it's been a long while since he last kissed. Yeah, that must be the only reason.
Knock! Knock! Knock.
“Come in,” he said, knowing who it was already. The door opened and revealed Mrs. Antonio, just like he had thought.
“There's great news about the deal with JK finance, Mr. Cooper,” Mrs. Antonio said with a bright smile, bringing a wide smile to Noah's lips as well.
“I'm all ears, Mrs. Antonio”
“Our company has been awarded the contract, Mr. Cooper,” she announced with ecstasy, revealing her row of white teeth.
Noah grinned happily, getting on his feet. “This is a great news, Mrs. Antonio,”
“Yes, Mr. Cooper. Also, there would be a union party for the big deal and the chairman had said you must attend with your wife” she put in, still beaming. However, his own smile could no longer smile upon hearing his assistant's last words.
