The Best Actor

The car rolled to a stop in front of a building. The large display screen was displaying the history of JK corporation and a row of luxurious cars were parking at the entrance. The red carpet stretched to the door, at each side of the door, there stood two men in a black suit and one senior in the middle of them to welcome the guests.
Just before reaching the entrance, Noah held out his hand for Jasmine. Jasmine raised her eyes and stared at this man, who was clad in a custom-made suit with smooth edges and noble creases, which made him look rich and noble.
“Stop drooling, mommy. Take daddy's hand and let's go inside,”
Jasmine switched her gaze to the most charming and pretty girl she has ever met. She was wearing a red princess gown and her hair was just put into a tight bun. She looked so beautiful.
A few moments earlier, while they were getting prepared for the party. Noah came into Aurora's room, where both she and Jasmine were getting ready. However, he has almost mistaken Jasmine for another person.
She looked classy and dignified in her red evening dress, but the valuable and dazzling jewelry on her was even more eye-catching. The makeup artist who had left some seconds ago had done an incredible job. Her straight hair was done in curly waves, and the makeup she wore was exquisite.
“Jasmine is so pretty, daddy, isn't it?” Aurora beamed toward her father and thanks to her voice, Noah had lost his mind in staring at Jasmine and felt he and Jasmine were the only ones standing in the room.
Smiling awkwardly to mask his embarrassment, “Yes, darling. But Aurora, you have to address Jasmine as mommy at the party, can you do that?” he asked cautiously, summing up his steps to where his daughter was sitting on the bed and squatted in front of her.
“Of course, daddy. It's obvious that this party is very important to you, so I must give in my whole best” Aurora assured with a gleam across her cute little round face.
Noah was pleased by his daughter's response. He nodded curtly and made to stand up, but was pulled back by his daughter.
“But you must promise me one thing, daddy,” Noah stared at her face with his brows lifted, “You must fall in love with Jasmine and get married to her very soon,”
Jasmine who had remained quiet as a mouse all this time; however upon listening to Aurora's words, her heart pounded strongly as if it could jump out of her chest at any time as she swallowed hard over the lump of emotion lodging in her throat.
Noah made a face, “Who are those teaching you all these things, Aurora?” he asked in a sharp voice, giving off the impression of annoyance.
Seeing the solemnness on her father's face, Aurora could not continue her smile, as It didn't occur to her at first that her dad would be mad because of her words.
Noah quickly put on a smile, indicating that he wasn't mad at all, “You are just so naughty, Aurora. Now can you step outside for a minute, I need to show Jasmine something?”
Aurora nodded with a smile and dashed for the door but stopped and peered her head back inside, “Do you want to kiss her, daddy?” she grinned and shut the door immediately after her words before Noah could react to her words.
The heat of shame could be seen blooming across Jasmine's ears as she lowered. Her neck turned violent red and all she wanted at that moment was to stick her head in a hole or an ice bucket.
“I hope you don't mind her,” Noah said gently while rubbing his temple. “No, not at all, Mr. Cooper” Jasmine lifted her head and said with an anxious smile.
“Okay, I've got this,” Noah says while outstretching a tiny ring to her. “In order to make the whole thing look more real, I've got this engagement ring” he stated his intentions. Jasmine nodded in cognition and collected the ring from him and put it on her engagement finger.
“I'm so sorry you have to go through all this because of me,” Noah said quietly, staring into Jasmine's eyes.
His eyes were exceptionally attractive like it was full of water, sparkling and deep. His body exuded manly, maturity, warmth, and generosity. His forehead and his temples were all serene without any single disturbance. It was this exact peace and calmness that caused her heart to flutter. He had never looked at him tentatively at that close distance.
Realizing that she had been staring for a long time now, “It's no problem, sir, it's fine. Moreover, you've done a lot more for me too,”
Noah was glad to hear this from her. He nodded his head twice and asked cheerfully, “So shall we?”
Jasmine took Noah's hand and the three of them ambled into the hall.
In the sumptuously decorated hall, people were toasting and chatting with each other. Men were wrapped in business suits, while women were in the most beautiful makeup.
“I'm the only kid here, mommy” Aurora observed and mumbled out her observations to Jasmine's hearing immediately after they both sat down in the VIP area.
“Yes, darling. It makes you feel unique, isn't it?" Jasmine said with a grin, extending one of her hands and caressing Aurora's hair.
Overwhelmed with affection, Aurora also grin in turn, “Yes, mommy, I'll tell all my classmates that I attended an adult party"
Their conversation continued without Noah insight.
He walked some distance away from their table to call his assistant. “Where are you, Mrs. Antonio?” he almost yelled into the phone.
“Here I am, Mr. Cooper,” Noah heard from behind him, and he turned around to see his assistant standing there with an apologetic expression.
“You are late.” Noah pointed out, looking quite sharp.
“I'm sorry, Mr. Cooper, I had to quickly take care of something” she apologized.
Noah stared at her face for a moment, “Okay, let's go,” he muttered, knowing too well that his assistant wasn't fond of the late habit.
Walking ahead of her, “I haven't seen the chairman yet,” he said, “I'll go find out now, sir”
“Before you do that, meet my date and my daughter” he has arrived back at his seat as he said these.
“Jasmine, meet my reliable assistant, Mrs. Antonio,” Noah introduced with a light smile. “Mrs. Antonio, meet my new friend but my date tonight, Jasmine”
Jasmine had stood up from her seat and shook her hands with Mrs. Antonio.
“It's nice to meet you, Miss. Jasmine” said Mrs. Antonio in a friendly tone, “The pleasure is all mine, Mrs. Antonio” Jasmine responded with a bright smile.
“Whoa, look who we have here,” a masculine voice suddenly said behind them, and they all turned around to face a short man who seemed to be in his late fifties.
Noah immediately recognized the man at a glance. He had met him fewer times before, and he couldn't be less glad that he recognized him too.
Putting on his most charming smile, “Good evening, Mr. Walker,” he greeted, “Thank you so much for granting me this opportunity and I promise to give in my best,” as Noah spoke, Mr. Walker's gaze was only dwelling on Jasmine and Aurora who were now standing next to Jasmine.
“Is this your wife, Mr. Cooper?” Mr. Walker asked with interest, his eyes unblinking and focusing intently on Jasmine.
“Yes, sir. And here's our daughter,” Noah quickly asserted, moving back a little to introduce them formerly.
Mr. Walker took a few steps toward Jasmine, while his co-business partners followed in step behind him and a few bodyguards.
“What's your name, gorgeous?” he asked, Jasmine.
“My name is Jasmine, sir” Jasmine responded politely with a chivalrous bow. Mr. Walker shifted his gaze at Aurora, “And your name, pretty?”
“My name is Aurora, sir. Thank you for bringing a big smile to my daddy's face,” Aurora pronounced with a deep sense of gratitude.
Mr. Walker was stunned by this little girl's courage, including the rest of the people who were standing close behind him.
“Your daddy deserves it, my dear because he's a responsible man”
“Do you want to know how your father is responsible? He's a promising father to you and also a great husband to your mommy, isn't he?
“You're right, sir” Aurora reacted immediately with a beam, causing Jasmine and Noah to exchange a knowing look.
“When I grow up, sir, I wish to marry a man like my father. He's such a wonderful man. He takes very good care of me and my mommy” Amelia boosted, bringing a shiny smile to the chairman's face.
However, Jasmine and Noah suppressed their lips to a tight line. Jasmine stared at Aurora's face and thought in her heart that, there was no other person who deserve the best actor of the year other than Aurora.
