Chapter 5: A New Vision Appears

Chapter 5: A New Vision Appears
The quiet of Sienna’s living room was comforting as she and Garner sat in silence, the recent events weighing heavily on them. Garner stared at his hands, lost in thought, his face etched with worry and exhaustion. Sienna glanced over, wanting to comfort him but unsure what to say.
Then, instinctively, she reached out and placed her hand on his, squeezing gently.
“Hey, we’ll find her, Garner,” she whispered, her voice filled with quiet determination.
As soon as her fingers brushed his, a strange sensation swept over Sienna. Her heart skipped a beat, and her vision began to blur. For a split second, she could see Garner sitting beside her, but then the room seemed to fade away. She tried to pull her hand back, but it felt as though an unseen force held her there, grounding her in place.
Suddenly, images rushed through her mind—a sequence of dark, fleeting scenes. She saw an old, abandoned warehouse. The paint on the walls was chipped and peeling, and a faint flickering light hung from the ceiling, casting eerie shadows. She could just make out the corner of a rusted metal cage, and inside it, a small figure—Farrah. Her face was pale and frightened, her hands gripping the bars as she looked around, desperate and alone.
Then, just as quickly as the vision had begun, it was over. Sienna gasped and pulled her hand back, her heart pounding.
Garner looked at her, his eyes wide with concern.
“Sienna, are you okay? What happened?”
She took a moment to steady herself, pressing a hand to her chest. “Garner…I think I just had another vision.”
His brows knitted together, equal parts worried and hopeful.
“What did you see?”
Sienna’s voice trembled as she spoke.
“I saw an abandoned warehouse…there was a cage, and Farrah was inside it. She looked so scared, Garner. I think she’s being held there.”
Garner sat up straight, his eyes flashing with determination.
“Where? Did you see anything that could tell us where it is?”
Sienna tried to recall the details of the vision.
“It was dark and rundown…but there was something odd about the place. I think it’s near the edge of town, maybe close to the old industrial district. There was a sign, but I couldn’t make out the letters clearly. I’m not sure where exactly, but it felt…close.”
Just then, Anjo entered the room, overhearing the conversation. His face turned serious as he approached them.
“Sienna, did you say you had another vision?”
She nodded, her gaze steady.
“Yes. I saw Farrah in a cage, in an abandoned warehouse. I think it’s somewhere in the industrial district, but I don’t have an exact location.”
Anjo considered this, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
“The industrial district has several abandoned buildings. It would take time to search them all, but it’s better than nothing. We have to check it out.”
Garner’s expression was resolute.
“Please, Anjo. We have to go now. Farrah could be in serious danger.”
Anjo put a hand on Garner’s shoulder, his voice calm but firm.
“I know you want to go right away, but we can’t rush in unprepared. If these men are as dangerous as we think, we need to approach this carefully.”
Sienna took a deep breath, her hands still shaking slightly from the vision. “I’ll go with you. I don’t know how, but these visions seem to come to me when I’m close to you, Garner. Maybe I’ll be able to sense something when we’re there.”
Anjo hesitated. “Are you sure, Sienna? This could get dangerous.”
She nodded, her face set with determination. “Farrah is in danger, and I want to help. I can’t just sit here and do nothing.”
Anjo sighed, realizing there was no changing her mind. “All right, but you both need to stay close to me. We’ll head to the industrial district and start our search there.”
---
They arrived at the industrial district as dusk began to settle over the city. The area was filled with crumbling warehouses and factories, most of them long abandoned and covered in graffiti. Anjo led the way, his eyes scanning the surroundings carefully, while Sienna and Garner stayed close behind.
“Do you recognize anything?” Anjo asked Sienna, glancing over his shoulder.
She took a deep breath, trying to tap into the sensation from her vision. “I…I’m not sure. It was dark in the vision, and everything here kind of looks the same. But maybe…let’s keep going.”
They moved through the shadows, stepping quietly as they made their way deeper into the industrial district. Every now and then, Sienna would pause, her hand brushing against Garner’s arm as she concentrated, hoping for another clue.
Then, they came across an old warehouse with shattered windows and a broken-down entrance. Something about it made Sienna’s skin prickle, and she stopped in her tracks.
“Wait,” she whispered, her eyes widening. “This place…it feels familiar.”
Anjo turned to her, his face tense. “Are you sure? Is this the one?”
Sienna nodded slowly. “I can’t explain it, but I feel like this is it. This is where I saw her.”
Garner’s fists clenched, and he looked to Anjo with determination. “We have to go in. We can’t waste any more time.”
Anjo raised a hand, signaling for them to stay back. “Let me go in first. If it’s clear, I’ll signal for you to follow. Stay close, and don’t make any noise.”
Sienna and Garner nodded, their faces filled with resolve as Anjo slowly made his way toward the entrance. He peered inside, his gaze sharp and alert, then waved them forward.
They slipped into the warehouse, moving quietly across the cold, cracked concrete floor. The air was thick with dust, and the faint smell of rust and decay hung in the air. Shadows loomed around them, and the silence was almost oppressive.
As they moved deeper into the building, Sienna’s heart pounded faster. Every corner, every shadow, felt like it held a secret, and the tension was nearly unbearable.
Then, suddenly, she felt something—a flash of an image in her mind. She stopped, her eyes widening. “Wait…we need to go that way,” she whispered, pointing to a door at the far end of the room.
Anjo glanced at her, nodding. “Lead the way, but stay alert.”
They approached the door, and Anjo pushed it open, revealing a narrow corridor leading further into the warehouse. They moved cautiously, the sound of their footsteps echoing softly.
At the end of the corridor, they reached a large room filled with scattered crates and old machinery. And there, tucked away in the corner, was a small cage, just as Sienna had seen in her vision.
Garner gasped, his voice barely a whisper. “Farrah…”
But as they stepped closer, they realized the cage was empty. Garner’s face fell, his hope shattered in an instant.
“She was here,” Sienna murmured, feeling a pang of guilt. “I saw her…she was here.”
Anjo clenched his fists, his gaze sweeping over the room. “We might have just missed them. Whoever took her might still be close by.”
Suddenly, they heard footsteps echoing from the corridor. Anjo motioned for them to hide, and they quickly ducked behind a stack of crates, holding their breaths.
Two men entered the room, talking in low voices.
“We need to move her to the new location,” one of them said. “The boss doesn’t want any loose ends.”
Garner’s eyes widened, and he looked at Anjo, who nodded silently, understanding the urgency. They had to follow these men to wherever they were taking Farrah.
As the men left the room, Anjo whispered, “We’ll follow them. Stay close, and be ready for anything.”
Sienna’s heart raced as they slipped out of their hiding spot, trailing the men from a safe distance. Her mind buzzed with the weight of her vision and the hope that they were getting closer to finding Farrah.
But as they moved deeper into the maze of warehouses, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something even darker lay ahead, waiting for them.
