Chapter 12: The Drug Lord’s Mansion

Chapter 12: The Drug Lord’s Mansion
Sienna sat on the edge of her seat, nervously tapping her fingers on the table as she waited for Anjo to arrive. She’d just had another vision, and this time, it was bigger than anything she’d seen before. It involved a mansion on the outskirts of town, and she had a strong feeling it was tied to Barron’s operations.
When Anjo finally entered the room, he looked exhausted, his usually neat appearance slightly disheveled. Garner followed close behind him, looking equally worried.
"Okay, Sienna," Anjo said, taking a seat across from her.
"What’s this urgent vision you needed to tell us about?"
Sienna took a deep breath.
"It’s about a massive drug operation—bigger than anything we've seen so far. I saw a mansion, hidden away outside of town. There were rooms full of packages, and people moving in and out with serious security. This place looked like a fortress."
Anjo rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"We’ve been getting bits and pieces on Barron’s drug network, but nothing concrete. Are you sure about the location?"
Sienna nodded.
"Yes, I saw it clearly in my vision. And there’s more—it’s being run by one of Barron’s close associates. I think… I think his name is Dimitri. Does that ring any bells?"
Anjo’s eyes widened.
"Dimitri Ivanov. He’s one of the most notorious drug lords in the area. He’s managed to stay off our radar for years, but we’ve suspected he’s connected to Barron. If this vision is right, then we finally have a lead."
Garner leaned forward, his voice tense.
"So, what’s the plan? We can’t just walk in there."
Sienna’s eyes sparkled with determination.
"Actually… maybe we can. I have an idea."
---
The following day, Sienna, dressed in a plain maid’s uniform with her hair tied back, approached the mansion gates. She’d managed to get herself hired as a temporary house cleaner, a position she’d "found" through a few carefully placed inquiries. Garner and Anjo were watching from a distance, waiting for her signal.
As Sienna walked up the grand steps of the mansion, she took in the opulent surroundings—the perfectly manicured gardens, the gleaming marble pillars, and the tall iron gates that loomed ominously behind her. She felt a shiver run down her spine. This place was beautiful, but it was also a prison.
A guard led her inside, barely sparing her a glance as he pointed down the hall.
"Kitchen’s that way. Don’t wander around. Got it?"
Sienna nodded, trying to appear timid. "Yes, sir. Just the kitchen. I understand."
As soon as the guard walked away, she took a deep breath and quickly scanned the room. The house was eerily quiet, with large portraits lining the walls and expensive-looking statues placed carefully on pedestals. She had to find a way to get Garner and Anjo inside without raising suspicion.
---
Meanwhile, Garner and Anjo waited anxiously in the wooded area near the mansion.
Garner shifted nervously, glancing over at Anjo. "What’s taking her so long? Do you think she’s okay?"
Anjo gave him a reassuring nod. "She’s fine. Sienna knows what she’s doing. Let’s wait for her signal."
Just then, a small flash of light appeared from one of the mansion’s upper windows—a mirror reflecting sunlight. It was Sienna’s signal.
Anjo and Garner looked at each other, nodding. Anjo led Garner through a narrow side entrance Sienna had scouted for them during her vision. They climbed through a small, unlocked window, landing in what appeared to be a storage room.
They moved cautiously through the dimly lit hallways, keeping an eye out for guards. Finally, they heard a soft voice from around the corner.
"Psst! Over here!"
Sienna peeked around the corner, motioning for them to follow her. She led them down a narrow corridor, stopping in front of a closed door.
"This is it," she whispered. "This room is where they’re storing the drugs. I saw it in my vision, and I saw Dimitri coming in and out of here."
Anjo nodded, pulling out his phone to take photos as evidence. "Alright. Let’s get a look inside."
Sienna held her breath as Anjo carefully opened the door, peeking in before motioning for Garner and her to follow. Inside, shelves upon shelves were stacked with small, unmarked packages.
Garner’s eyes widened. "This is… unreal. How did they keep this hidden for so long?"
Anjo took a few photos, moving quickly but quietly. "They probably change locations often, which is why we haven’t been able to catch them before. This is exactly the kind of proof we need."
Just then, they heard voices approaching.
Sienna’s heart leapt into her throat as the sound of footsteps grew louder. She glanced at Anjo and Garner, mouthing, *Hide!* They quickly ducked behind a stack of crates, crouching down and holding their breath.
Two men entered the room, talking in hushed voices.
One of them was tall and thin, with a scar running down his cheek. The other man, bulkier with tattoos covering his arms, spoke with a thick accent. "Dimitri’s not happy. Says the last shipment was short."
The man with the scar grunted. "Well, he’ll have to deal with it. Security’s getting tighter, especially after that kid escaped."
Sienna clenched her fists, anger bubbling up as she realized they were talking about Garner’s sister, Farrah. She felt Garner’s hand on her shoulder, grounding her.
The men continued their conversation, oblivious to the intruders hidden just a few feet away.
"Anyway," Scarface muttered, "Dimitri’s planning on moving this stuff soon. He says the heat’s getting too close. Might shift everything to his warehouse on the east side."
Anjo’s eyes widened slightly, absorbing the information.
After a few minutes, the men finally left, and the trio released their held breaths.
Anjo whispered, "We’ve got what we need. Let’s get out of here."
Sienna nodded, leading them back through the mansion’s winding hallways. They slipped back out the side entrance, their hearts racing as they made their way back to the safety of the trees.
---
Once they were safely away from the mansion, they took a moment to catch their breaths. Anjo looked at Sienna, his expression a mixture of admiration and relief.
"That was risky, Sienna. But you did great."
Sienna grinned, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face. "I couldn’t have done it without you guys. And… it’s not over yet. We still have to take down Dimitri and find Farrah."
Garner looked at Sienna, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Sienna. I don’t know how we would’ve gotten this far without you."
She blushed slightly, feeling the weight of their success.
"We’re a team, remember? And we’re not stopping until Farrah’s home safe."
Anjo glanced at the photos he’d taken, determination hardening his gaze.
"We’ve got enough evidence to start building a case against Dimitri and the syndicate. Let’s head back and start making our next move."
As they walked away from the mansion, Sienna felt a renewed sense of purpose. Her visions, as strange and sometimes frightening as they were, were giving her the chance to make a difference. And with Anjo and Garner by her side, she knew they could bring down Barron’s empire—one piece at a time.
