As soon as the call disconnected, I let out a primal scream, unleashing all the pent-up emotions that had been building inside me. The sound echoed through my room, reverberating off the walls, and piercing the silence of the night. I forgot that it was the middle of the night, forgot that I had neighbors, forgot everything except the overwhelming joy that threatened to consume me.
