Chapter 14: Morning With The Crew.

The next morning, the knock on the door woke me up, shattering the peaceful silence that filled my apartment. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes, wondering who could be visiting so early. As I made my way to the main door, the knocking grew louder, more insistent. I opened the door to find Rachel and Emily standing in the hallway, their faces radiant with the glow of a wild night. Their hair was disheveled, their makeup smudged, and their clothes rumpled – telltale signs of a night spent with strangers.
"Hey, girl!" Rachel exclaimed, barging into the apartment. "We're back! We had the most epic night ever!" She tossed her purse onto the couch, and Emily followed suit. Their energy was infectious, and I couldn't help but smile. "How was your night?" Emily asked, her eyes scanning the room, taking in the evidence of my own wild night. My heart still fluttered when I thought about Elijah, still sleeping in my bedroom. I made sure I rode him exhausted last night, and now he was still resting, oblivious to the morning chaos.
"I'll give you the details later," I said, winking at them. Rachel raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "Spill the tea," she said, plopping down onto the couch. Emily settled in beside her, their eyes locked on me. I laughed, taking a seat in the armchair across from them. "Let's just say Elijah kept me busy," I replied, a sly smile spreading across my face. Rachel and Emily exchanged knowing glances, their faces lighting up with excitement.
Emily leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. "We figured as much. We were worried you'd be lonely without us, but it looks like you had other plans." Rachel chuckled. "Yeah, and those plans included Elijah, if the look on your face is any indication." I blushed, feeling a flutter in my chest. "You guys have no idea," I said, shaking my head.
As we settled into the living room, I couldn't help but think about the previous night's escapades. Elijah was still sleeping in my bedroom, and I was grateful for the quiet morning with my friends. "So, how was the party?" I asked, changing the subject. Rachel grinned mischievously. "Wild. We met some interesting guys." Emily giggled, her eyes sparkling. "Interesting?" Rachel's grin grew wider. "Let's just say we had fun. We danced the night away, and... well, you know how it is." I chuckled, raising an eyebrow. "I'm sure you did."
The conversation flowed effortlessly, our laughter filling the room. We chatted about everything and nothing, our bond stronger than ever. As we talked, Elijah emerged from the bedroom, looking adorably disheveled. His hair was messy, his eyes sleepy, and his smile warm. "Hey, guys," he said, his voice low and husky.
Rachel and Emily exchanged knowing glances, their faces welcoming. "Morning," Rachel said. Emily smiled. "Welcome to the crew." Elijah smiled back, his eyes locked on mine. "Thanks." He settled in beside me, his arm wrapping around my shoulders. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and camaraderie.
As Rachel and Emily delved deeper into their memory-filled night, recounting every laugh, every dance, and every whispered secret, Elijah suddenly stood up, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "I think this is supposed to be girls' talk," he said with a chuckle, his deep voice filled with warmth. "I'll get out of your way and let you dish about your adventures."
With a gallant smile, Elijah excused himself, leaving us to our gossip session. He headed to the kitchen, his movements fluid and confident, his broad shoulders disappearing from view. I watched him go, feeling a surge of admiration for this thoughtful man.
One of the million things I admired about Elijah was his cooking. He had a way with food, transforming simple ingredients into culinary masterpieces that delighted the senses. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air, enticing us to the kitchen.
As we continued our conversation, the sounds of sizzling bacon, scrambling eggs, and toasting bread filled the background, creating a symphony of culinary delights. Elijah moved with ease, his hands moving deftly as he expertly crafted a breakfast feast.
Rachel's eyes widened. "Is he cooking?" she whispered, her voice filled with excitement.
Emily's eyes sparkled. "Looks like it," she replied, her gaze drifting toward the kitchen.
I grinned. "Elijah's a master chef," I said, pride evident in my voice.
The kitchen soon became a sensory delight, filled with the mouthwatering aromas of cooking food. Elijah's humming drifted from the kitchen, mingling with the sizzling sounds.
Before long, Elijah emerged with a tray laden with a sumptuous breakfast spread: fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, golden pancakes, and freshly squeezed orange juice. The presentation was stunning, almost too beautiful to eat.
"Breakfast is served, ladies," Elijah announced, his eyes shining with pride.
Rachel and Emily oohed in unison, their faces lighting up. "Elijah, you're a godsend," Rachel exclaimed.
Emily nodded. "This looks amazing," she said, her eyes scanning the spread.
I smiled, feeling grateful for this thoughtful gesture. "One of Elijah's many talents," I said.
As we dug into the delicious breakfast, our conversation flowed effortlessly, filled with laughter and stories. The warmth and camaraderie in the room were palpable.
After the delightful breakfast, where Elijah had fed me with his own hands, savoring each bite, our eyes locked in a loving gaze, he prepared to leave. I walked him to the door, feeling a pang of sadness that our time together was coming to an end. The morning sunlight streaming through the window highlighted the contours of his face, making him even more handsome.
As we stood at the entrance, Elijah turned to me, his eyes burning with affection. "I had an amazing time last night and this morning," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. "You make every moment unforgettable."
"Me too," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper, my heart still racing from the intensity of our kiss.
Elijah's hands cradled my face, his thumbs tracing my cheeks, sending shivers down my spine. "I'll call you around afternoon," he promised. "I have plans for us today. It's the weekend, after all. A perfect day to spend together."
I smiled, anticipation building inside me, wondering what he had in store. "I can't wait," I said, my eyes locked onto his.
Elijah's lips curled into a smile, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "You'll love it," he whispered, his breath caressing my skin.
Without another word, Elijah's lips descended upon mine, sealing our time together with a passionate kiss. Our mouths moved in perfect sync, the world around us melting away. Time stood still as our love became the only reality.
As we broke apart, gasping for air, Elijah's eyes locked onto mine, filled with adoration. "I love you," he whispered.
"I love you too," I replied.
Elijah smiled, his fingers tracing my lips, sending shivers down my spine. "See you soon," he whispered.
I nodded, watching as he turned to leave, feeling a sense of longing.
As the door closed behind Elijah, I felt a sense of contentment wash over me, knowing we would spend the day together soon. Our time together had been nothing short of magical.
Rachel and Emily emerged from the living room, curious expressions on their faces.
"How's the love bird?" Rachel asked.
Emily grinned. "Did he leave you swooning?"
I blushed. "Always."
Rachel chuckled. "We're happy for you."
Emily nodded. "You two are meant to be."
Their words warmed my heart.
