A mother's embrace (Mekaila's recovery)
One month has passed, and Mekaila is still in the hospital recovering.
Zach hasn’t left Mekaila’s side and always shows her how much he loves her.
Even though he remembers his father's anger during the time they saved Mekaila, he feels like a burden to them. But he did everything he could, even when he was feeling really down, just to save Mekaila at that time.
He always prays that his wife will get better so they can make up for all the days they haven't beeen together as a family.
Even though it's hard for Zach of what happened, he never loses hope. He waits for God to hear his prayer.
Their child often goes to the hospital to visit Mekaila because it helps her feel better and gives her the strength to fight.
One morning, Zach was exhausted from watching over Mekaila because there were still times when she seemed scared or traumatized.
The doctor said to keep a close eye on her, especially at night, so she wouldn't be scared.
So, Zach kept watching over her, but there's still a time that Mekaila kept crying at night and it looks like she's scared. It was like she couldn't get over of what had happened already.
To cheer Mekaila up in the hospital, their children went to sleep. Zach kept reminding Mekaila to be strong because Mekaela and Mezachela missed her so much.
A week passed, and Mekaila seemed to be feeling better. Her children were so happy, especially Zach.
After hugging Mekaela and Mezachela, Mezachela woke up her dad, saying, "Daddy, Mommy's awake!"
Zach couldn't believe his ears, but he quickly turned to Mekaila and burst into tears of joy.
"Love, I thought it would be longer before you woke up. Thank goodness you're awake. We missed you so much," Zach cried.
Mekaila smiled at him and hugged him back. She wanted to say something, but Zach didn't want her to cry because she was still recovering. So he told her to wait until she was feeling better to tell him everything.
Their children were so happy and kept praying that their mom would get completely better so they could all go home.
"Mommy, when you get out of here, Mekaela and I will show you what we made for you," said Mezachela.
"Yeah, Mommy, we made a really special gift for you, and there's a lot of it because you were gone for so long," Mekaela added.
Mekaila just smiled and looked at her little family.
"Mommy, we have so many stories to tell you. We stayed with Grandma for a few days, and she loves us. She really took good care of us. She said when you come back, we're all going to go on a trip to America," Mezachela said.
"Sweetie, don't overwhelm your mommy. She's still a little confused because you're so talkative," Zach joked.
"No, tell me everything, my loves. I want to hear it all," Mekaila said.
"You're talking?!" Zach exclaimed, surprised.
"Love, I'm feeling much better. I missed you all so much. Come here, please. Come sit next to me," Mekaila said.
Zach smiled at her and kissed her forehead. "When you're all better, we'll get married again, a fresh start."
"Yeeeeeeey! And Mezachela and I will be the flower girls, Daddy. Liam and Hance will be our partners," Mekaela said.
"Hahaha, who are Liam and Hance?" Mekaila asked.
"They're our friends, Mommy. They're Grandma's neighbors," Mezachela explained.
Their laughter filled the room, and all of Zach's sadness was replaced with hope. His daughters shared endless stories with their mom, telling her all the happy things that happened while she was gone.
Mekaila felt happy, and the fear in her mind seemed to disappear. All she felt now was joy. Zach kept praying that Mekaila would be completely healed tomorrow so he could make up for all the things he couldn't do while she was in danger.
Zach's parents also visited the hospital, as did Marcus. Marcus introduced Zach to his real father and younger brother, also named Marcus.
Zach thought to himself, "Sometimes, there are things you can never accept, but they happen to you suddenly in life. But after the trials, there's a great blessing."
Right now, Zach's focus was on doing what needed to be done. Since Mekaila was about to be discharged, Zach told the doctor to move her to a larger room with a bed for them because they would be staying with her until she was fully recovered.
Because Kong was wealthy, they were able to move Mekaila to a larger room. Their happiness as a family continued without a hitch.
Zach thought to himself, even though Mekaila wasn't out of the hospital yet, he was still so happy because he knew deep down that everything was going to be 100% better soon.Download Novelah App
