Felix's POV Jenna carefully led me inside the house, her hand gentle but firm on my arm. I could feel her concern with every step we took. Once we were in the living room, she disappeared for a moment and returned with a small first aid kit, sitting in front of me with a worried expression as she started treating the cut on my lip. Her touch was soft, almost too gentle, and it stirred something inside me. I could see the tension on her face, the way her brows furrowed as she focused on my wound. She was mad—no, furious at Aiden. The shift in her loyalty was starting to work in my favor, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of victory creeping in. "This might sting a little," she murmured as she applied the antiseptic. Her fingers brushed against my skin, sending a small jolt through me, but I kept my composure. I watched her closely as she worked, taking in the way she looked so concentrated. This moment reminded me so much of Aira—how she used to care for me before everything fell apart. I could see the parallels, and for the first time, I felt like I was on the right path to reclaiming what I lost. Aiden was getting what he deserved, just like before. "Why did he do that?" Jenna asked, her voice breaking through my thoughts. Her eyes met mine, and I could see the confusion in them. I sighed, pretending to be conflicted. "Aiden... he’s been acting out of control lately. I think he’s still trying to mess with your head, Jenna. He knows you’re slipping away from him." She paused for a moment, her hands freezing on my lip. Her eyes searched my face for something—maybe reassurance, maybe an answer. "I just don’t understand why he’s still doing this. Why can’t he just leave me alone?" I gently grabbed her wrist, giving it a light squeeze. "Because he can’t accept the fact that he lost you. He’s desperate. But Jenna, you deserve better than that. You deserve someone who respects you, not someone who tries to control you." Her eyes softened, and for a second, I thought I saw something more—a spark, a realization, maybe even a glimmer of hope that she was seeing me differently now. "I just want peace, Felix," she whispered, pulling her hand away to continue tending to my wound. "I don’t want to deal with this drama anymore." “Why? I’m already involved in this, Jenna. Why won’t you give me a chance? Don’t you really like me?” I asked softly, my heart pounding as I watched her. She fell silent, placing the medicine back in the container and taking a deep breath. The air between us felt charged, thick with unspoken words. “Silence means, yes?” I teased gently, trying to lighten the tension but desperately wanting her answer. “To be honest, I don’t know… but the way you care for me, something I’ve never felt with Aiden, it makes me think... I might like you,” she confessed, her voice barely above a whisper, and I could see the blush creeping up her cheeks. Wait, am I really hearing this right? She likes me? A rush of warmth flooded through me, mixing with the adrenaline from our earlier confrontation. I couldn’t help but smile, despite the pain from my split lip. "You really mean that?" I asked, needing to hear her say it again, as if saying it aloud would somehow solidify this moment. She nodded slowly, avoiding my gaze. "Yeah, I think I do. But I’m just so confused right now with everything happening." “Jenna,” I said, leaning closer, trying to bridge the distance between us. “You don’t have to be confused. I’ll be here for you, no matter what. I’ll help you sort through all this mess.” She finally met my eyes, and I could see a flicker of hope in them. “It’s just… Aiden was such a big part of my life, and suddenly, everything feels like it’s changing too fast.” “I get it. Change is scary. But think about it—do you want to go back to being unhappy with him?” I asked, my voice steady. “You deserve someone who makes you feel safe and appreciated. I can be that person for you.” Her expression softened, and I felt a spark of connection that hadn’t been there before. “I just don’t want to hurt anyone, Felix. Especially Aiden.” I leaned back, giving her space but keeping my gaze locked on hers. “What about your happiness? Me? You can’t keep putting everyone else’s feelings before yours. It’s okay to choose yourself for once.” Jenna looked down, deep in thought. The tension between us began to shift, becoming charged with something deeper, more profound than just friendship. I could feel the shift in her heart, the way she was beginning to realize that maybe, just maybe, she could let go of Aiden and embrace what we could be. “Maybe you’re right,” she finally said, her voice stronger now. “Maybe I do deserve to be happy.” I couldn’t help but smile. “Then let’s figure this out together.” I don’t know what came over me, but I wanted to kiss her. The urge was overwhelming, and before I could stop myself, I leaned in and pressed my lips to hers. For a moment, I let go of all the thoughts of revenge, of Jenna and Aiden, of everything. Right now, I just wanted her to feel that I was sincere—even if deep down, I knew I shouldn’t be doing this because of what they did to Aira. To my surprise, she responded. Her lips moved softly against mine, and I could feel something stir within me. Guilt mixed with the desire, the conflicting emotions crashing into each other. But more than anything, I felt the warmth of her lips, and for a brief second, I allowed myself to forget my plan. But the plan—the revenge—was always at the back of my mind. I needed her to fall for me, to trust me completely. That was the only way I could make them pay for what they did to Aira. I needed to succeed in this. As I pulled back, I looked into her eyes, searching for any sign of regret or confusion. But there was none. Instead, there was a softness, a vulnerability I hadn’t seen before. She was falling into my trap, just as I planned. “Felix...” she whispered; her breath shaky as her fingers brushed against my face. I forced a gentle smile, pushing down the guilt that was starting to rise. “I care about you, Jenna. More than you know,” I said, my voice low and full of false sincerity. She smiled back, and I could see she was starting to believe me. I was winning her over, slowly but surely. This was the first step—making her believe that I was someone she could trust, someone who would always be there for her. And once she was completely under my control, Aiden would lose her, just like he made Aira lose everything. But why did I feel that pang of guilt creeping in again? No. I couldn’t afford to be soft. Not now, not when I was this close to getting what I wanted. I leaned in once more, pressing a soft kiss on her forehead. “I’ll always be here for you, Jenna,” I whispered, making sure she felt the weight of my words. She looked up at me, her eyes filled with a mix of emotions. “Thank you, Felix,” she murmured. I nodded, pulling her close. “You don’t have to thank me,” I said, my voice barely a whisper. “Just... trust me.” She rested her head on my chest, and I knew I had her where I wanted. But deep down, something about this didn’t feel right. Still, I couldn’t stop now. I had to see this through.
