Chapter 26 TELL ME ABOUT HUMANS

"Now, tell me about humans," Valentin said, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
I laughed, feeling a little self-conscious. "Well, humans are...complicated," I said, trying to summarize.
Valentin raised an eyebrow. "Complicated?" he repeated. "That's an interesting choice of words."
I nodded, thinking about it. "Yes, we're emotional, irrational, and contradictory. We're capable of great beauty and great ugliness."
Valentin nodded, his expression thoughtful. "I've observed that," he said, his voice dry. "Humans are indeed a fascinating species."
I grinned, feeling a little defensive. "Hey, we're not that bad," I said, laughing.
Valentin smiled, his fangs glinting in the light. "I didn't say you were," he said, his voice low and husky. "I think humans are amazing, in your own, quirky way."
I blushed, feeling a little pleased. "Thanks, I think," I said, smiling up at him.
Valentin chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "So, tell me more about human relationships," he said, his voice curious.
I hesitated, thinking about it. "Well, humans are social creatures," I said, trying to summarize. "We form connections with each other, romantic, platonic, familial...it's all complicated."
Valentin nodded, his expression thoughtful. "I see," he said, his voice low and husky. "And what about love?" he asked, his eyes locked onto mine.
My heart skipped a beat as I met his gaze. "Love is...everything," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
"Now, tell me about you, Ava," Valentin said, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
I hesitated, feeling a little self-conscious. "What do you want to know?" I asked, trying to sound casual.
Valentin leaned in, his voice low and husky. "Everything," he said, his eyes locked onto mine.
I blushed, feeling a little overwhelmed. "Okay," I said, taking a deep breath. "I'm 20 years old, a college student...I love reading, writing, and music."
Valentin nodded, his expression thoughtful. "That's a good start," he said, his voice dry. "But I want to know more. What makes you tick, Ava? What are your dreams, your fears?"
I hesitated, feeling a little vulnerable. But there was something about Valentin's intense gaze that made me want to open up.
"I've always dreamed of being a writer," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "But I'm scared of failure, of not being good enough."
Valentin nodded, his expression understanding. "I know the feeling," he said, his voice low and husky. "But you have a spark, Ava. A spark that can't be extinguished."
I smiled, feeling a little more at ease. "Thanks, Valentin," I said, my voice sincere. "You're pretty easy to talk to, for a vampire."
Valentin chuckled, his fangs glinting in the light. "I try my best," he said, his voice dry. "Now, tell me more about your family, your friends..."
And I did, pouring out my heart to this mysterious, captivating Vampire.
As I was busy talking, I noticed that Valentin would occasionally hold my hand, touch my hair, my neck, cheek, and even lip. At first, I thought it was just a friendly gesture, but as it kept happening, I started to feel a flutter in my chest.
"What are you doing?" I said, laughing, trying to sound casual despite the butterflies in my stomach.
Valentin smiled, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "I'm just getting to know you, Ava," he said, his voice low and husky. "You're very expressive, you know that?"
I blushed, feeling a little self-conscious. "I guess so," I said, trying to play it cool.
Valentin chuckled, his fangs glinting in the light. "I love watching you talk," he said, his voice sincere. "Your eyes light up, your hair falls in loose waves...you're captivating, Ava."
I felt my heart skip a beat at his words, my pulse racing with excitement. No one had ever looked at me like that before, like I was the only person in the world.
"Valentin," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "You're making me blush."
He grinned, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "That's the idea," he said, his voice low and husky.
And with that, he leaned in, his lips brushing against mine in a soft, gentle kiss. I felt like I was melting into his touch, like nothing else mattered except for this moment, right here, right now.
He stopped, then I asked him a question, "what makes you laugh". I asked.
"I don't know" he said.
Then I started making funny face to make him laugh but he just stood still.
I was taken aback by his sudden intensity. "What's wrong?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Valentin's eyes were fixed on mine, his gaze burning with desire. "You are driving me crazy," he said, his voice low and husky.
And then, he leaned in, his tongue tracing the outline of my lip. I felt a shiver run down my spine as his warm breath caressed my skin.
I couldn't help but laugh, a nervous, trembling sound. "That's not fair," I said, trying to sound playful despite the butterflies in my stomach.
Valentin's eyes sparkled with amusement. "I'm not playing fair," he said, his voice dripping with seduction. "I'm playing to win."
And with that, he deepened the kiss, his lips claiming mine in a passionate, all-consuming embrace. I felt like I was melting into his touch, like nothing else mattered except for this moment, right here, right now.
But then, he stopped again, his eyes locked onto mine with an intense gaze. "I want to know what makes you laugh," he said, his voice low and husky.
I grinned, feeling a little more at ease. "Okay," I said, thinking for a moment. "I love silly jokes, and funny animal videos...and making funny faces!"
Valentin raised an eyebrow. "Making funny faces?" he repeated.
I nodded, and started making silly expressions, crossing my eyes, and sticking out my tongue. But Valentin just stood still, his eyes fixed on mine with an unreadable gaze.
And then, he leaned in again, his lips brushing against mine in a soft, gentle kiss. "You're adorable when you're trying to be funny," he said, his voice low and husky.
We both remain still trying to catch our breath.
"Can I spend the night here?" he asked.
"No! You should go now" I said.
"But why?" he asked.
"I don't want you to do anything silly"
Valentin looked at me with a hint of disappointment, but also with a spark of amusement in his eyes. "Silly?" he repeated. "I promise I'll be on my best behavior."
I raised an eyebrow, trying to sound firm despite the flutter in my chest. "I mean it, Valentin. You should go now."
But he just stood there, his eyes locked onto mine, his presence making my heart race.
"Why?" he asked again, his voice low and husky. "What are you afraid of?"
I hesitated, trying to come up with a convincing excuse. But the truth was, I was afraid of myself, of how I felt when I was around him.
"I just...I need some space," I said finally, trying to sound calm.
Valentin nodded, but he didn't move. "Okay," he said. "But can I ask you one more thing?"
I nodded, despite my better judgment.
"Will you dream of me?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
I felt my face heat up, but I tried to play it cool. "Maybe," I said, trying to sound nonchalant.
Valentin grinned, his fangs glinting in the light. "Good," he said. "I'll dream of you too."
And with that, he turned and left, leaving me breathless and bewildered.
