Chapter 21 "I LOVE YOU, JACKSON. ALWAYS"
I finally found Cecilia sitting on a bench in the park, staring blankly at the ground. I sat down beside her, taking her hand in mine. She didn't pull away, but she didn't look at me either. "Cecilia, please talk to me," I said, my voice shaking with emotion. "Why are you pushing me away? We can face this together." She sighed, her shoulders slumping. "I don't want to hurt you, Jackson. I don't want to leave you with a broken heart." "You're already hurting me by pushing me away," I said, my eyes filling with tears. "I want to be with you, Cecilia. I want to spend every moment with you." She looked at me then, her eyes filled with a deep sadness. "I'm sorry, Jackson. I just can't." I took a deep breath, trying to think of something to say to make her understand. But before I could speak, she stood up and walked away. I followed her, determined to make her see that I wasn't going anywhere. We walked in silence, the only sound being the crunch of gravel beneath our feet. Finally, we reached her front door. She turned to me, her eyes pleading. "Please, Jackson. Just leave me alone." I shook my head, my heart heavy with emotion. "I won't leave you, Cecilia. I promise." And with that, I pulled her into my arms, holding her close as we both broke down in tears. Please let me know if you'd like me to continue! As we stepped inside, Cecilia's eyes darted around the room, as if searching for an escape. But I held her tight, my arms wrapped around her like a shield. "Let's talk," I whispered, leading her to the couch. She nodded, her eyes welling up with tears. We sat down together, our legs touching. "I'm scared, Jackson," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I don't want to leave you behind." I took her hand, my heart aching. "You won't," I said. "We'll face this together. We'll make the most of our time." Cecilia looked at me, her eyes searching. "Promise me," she said. "I promise," I replied, my voice firm. "We'll cherish every moment, every second. We'll make memories that will last a lifetime." Tears streamed down her face as she nodded, a small smile on her lips. In that moment, I knew that I would do anything to make her happy, to make our time together count. "Let's start now," I said, standing up and pulling her into my arms. We danced, our bodies swaying to the silence, our hearts beating as one. As we moved, I knew that our love would conquer all, even death itself. We would live, we would love, and we would cherish every moment. As we danced, the world around us melted away, leaving only the two of us, lost in our own little bubble of love. I held her close, feeling her warmth, her heartbeat, her breath on my skin. We spun around the room, our laughter echoing off the walls, our tears drying on our cheeks. We were alive, and we were free. Suddenly, Cecilia stopped, her eyes locked on mine. "I want to show you something," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. She took my hand, leading me to a room I had never seen before. It was small, with walls lined with books and a single window that let in a stream of sunlight. In the center of the room, a beautiful piano sat, its keys shining like diamonds. Cecilia sat down, her fingers poised over the keys. "I used to play," she said. "Before...before everything." She began to play, her music filling the room, filling my heart. It was beautiful, haunting, and full of life. I sat down beside her, my eyes closed, letting the music wash over me. As we sat there, I knew that this was what I wanted, what I needed. This moment, this music, this love. But like all things, the music came to an end. Cecilia's fingers stilled, and the room fell silent. I opened my eyes to find her gazing at me, a soft smile on her lips. "How was that?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "It was beautiful," I replied, my voice filled with emotion. "Just like you." Cecilia's smile faltered, and she looked away, her eyes welling up with tears. "What's wrong?" I asked, my heart aching. "I just wish...I wish it could last," she said, her voice cracking. "I wish we had more time." I took her hand, my fingers intertwining with hers. "We'll make the most of the time we have," I promised. "We'll cherish every moment, every second." Cecilia nodded, a small smile on her lips. "I'm glad you're here with me, Jackson." "Me too," I replied, my voice filled with emotion. "Me too." As we sat there, hands entwined, I knew that I would never let her go. I would hold on to her, to our love, for as long as I could. But deep down, I knew that our time was running out. And I couldn't help but wonder...how much longer did we have? CECILIA POINT OF VIEW As I looked into Jackson's eyes, I saw the love and adoration shining back at me. But deep down, I knew I couldn't bear the thought of him seeing me like this - weak, fragile, and dying. I couldn't bear the thought of him holding my hand as I took my last breath, of him watching as my body failed me, of him seeing the light fade from my eyes. I knew I had to leave. I had to spare him the pain of watching me slip away. So, I made the hardest decision of my life. I would leave town, alone, and find a place to die in peace. The thought of leaving Jackson behind was like a knife to my heart. But I knew it was the only way to save him from the agony of losing me. I packed my bags in secret, my heart heavy with grief. I wrote a letter to Jackson, explaining why I had to leave, and how much I loved him. As I closed the door behind me, I felt a part of me die. I knew I would never see Jackson again, never feel his warm embrace, never hear his gentle voice. Tears streamed down my face as I walked away from the only home I had ever known. I was walking away from the love of my life, from the only person who had ever truly understood me. I felt so alone, so scared, and so lost. But I knew I had to do this. I had to save Jackson from the pain of losing me. As I disappeared into the darkness, I whispered a final goodbye to the love of my life. "I love you, Jackson. Always."
