JL packed up both his and Naomi’s clothes to their shared luggage. “Does this look like a honeymoon getaway for us?” Naomi asked while she fixes her curly braids partnered with a styled beach hat. JL chuckled, “Think of it as the one you said. Unfortunately, it is quite late for that” he replied as he zips up the luggage’s zipper.
“Make sure you did not leave anything behind. We will stay there for two months” he reminded while carefully placing the luggage inside the car’s trunk. “I prepared everything. It is super extra actually” she replied while biting her upper lip in guilt. JL opened the backseat’s door and found tons of things including those they might need.
“Such an expert in getaways” he commended. “I just learned that from you when we did the escapade” she returned to him the compliment. “Get inside so we can leave early” he said and assisted her in riding in the passenger’s seat. It is still dark in the morning when they left the condo unit. The pier is not far away from the condo unit and so they reached there easily.
Fonsi took over JL’s car and drove it back to their house in the subdivision to prevent Luke from chasing a loophole for him to use as a clue. They rode the yacht JL rented to reach the island Lorenzia chose. The sail is taking time and so they made the best out of time inside the yacht. The sea’s breeze and the warmness the sunlight brought made them feel at ease as if they did not escape from any issue in the city.

The sun has not fully shone yet and so the air is mixed with coldness with a little warmth. JL covered her revealing back from the pink backless beach dress she wore. “You don’t want to get more torturing back pains, right?” he asked. Naomi chuckled; her heavy belly makes it hard for her to adjust her posture and so she experiences back pains.
The soft Chanel shawl touched her back with the warmth of JL’s palm on it. JL caressed her hair and tucked it behind her ear with a white plumeria flower. “Did you know that if a woman has a flower tucked in her ear, that means she is either married or available?” he stated a trivia. Naomi gave him an impression, “You do know a lot of things” she said.
JL’s white polo is opened two buttons down, making his chest semi revealed. The camera strap is hanging in his neck and it is only her who is his subject in the photos. He took a lot of photos thinking that the memory it will contain can be their kids’ tool for foreshadowing their relationship before they become parents.
Naomi covered the camera’s lens with her palm. “I am tired of smiling already! Can’t you take a photo of the view first?” she complained. JL shrugged and shook his head, “Can’t you understand that you are the view I want to stare at?” he romantically asked. Naomi blushed as she chuckled; “There, I captured that smile” he asked while zooming in her blushing face in the camera.
“Delete that! I am not ready yet!” she said while attempting to grab the camera from JL’s hands. “No, I won’t. You really look great in here” he adored while forcing her to look at the image he took. Naomi crossed her arms as JL slowly present to her the image he took while she chuckles. He carefully zoomed it in to highlight her smile.
“You see? It looks so beautiful. You are beautiful” he sweet talked. Naomi’s eyes are full of admiration from his words. The way he praised her looks made her feel the love embedded in the words he stated. “You look radiant because you are with me. I am the only one who can bring out that kind of smile from your lips” he added. Naomi softly smacked his arm, “You are such a sweet talker” she replied but deep inside, his compliments are making her feel butterflies in her stomach.
JL hugged her waist and made her face the front of the yacht while they both watch the beautiful scene of the sunrise greeting them before they reach the island Lorenzia booked. Their hearts are full; they felt one of the twins kick and this time, JL felt it in his hands. He kissed Naomi in her cheek and said, “Sorry, little one. I have to do these things before you two comes out”.
“I read from the book that they know what their mom feels from inside the womb. They can also hear you, you know” she said while leaning her head to JL’s shoulder. “Is that the pregnancy wisdom thing? Quite mesmerizing” he teasingly replied. “Why? Do you think I am that ignorant?” she fought back. JL shook his head, “I just love that you know how the babies feel inside your womb” he contradicted.
Fonsi parked JL’s car in the house’s garage. He threw the car keys to Lorenzia who immediately caught it. She played the keys in her hand and asked for an update, “Do you think they have arrived now?” she asked. Fonsi glanced at his wristwatch and shook his head, “I bet they are halfway there. Do you mind if I take your baggage to the car’s trunk?”.
Lorenzia handed to him the things she will bring to the condo unit. For the meantime, they will be the ones to live in the condo unit to see if Luke will show up. Fonsi pulled the baggage to JL’s car’s trunk and immediately drove back to the condo unit. “What will we do if Luke really shows up?” Lorenzia asked while putting on her lipstick.
“Simply drive him away. I just want to make him see that JL is not with us even though he really is” Fonsi answered while driving. “I hope JL can keep this plan from Naomi. You know she can’t stress herself out since she is carrying my future niece and nephew” Lorenzia uttered.
Fonsi scoffed, “Isn’t it supposed to be my future niece and nephew also? You see, those will be the second cousins of Fatima. You talk as if we are not married” he replied. “Oh, come on Fonsi. Can’t you be more mature even just once? There is this reason why I am still refusing to carry your surname” she said while rolling her eyes.
“Thank heavens you allowed me to give my family name to Fatima” he replied. Fonsi and Lorenzia started a relationship two years after JL went outside the city to study. At that time, Lorenzia is a first -year college student and Fonsi is in his second year. They had a daughter named Fatima one year after they tied the knot. But still, they remained lowkey in their relationship as if they are still in their courting stage.
JL placed a secured platform for Naomi to step at. The island house’s receptionist carried their bags to the place where they are going to stay for two months. They both looked around in the island; there are festive designs and boho themes placed everywhere. The people there are happy making a living in the waters.
The house where they will stay is made of few hard walls and the remaining structures are made of glass. JL went inside and carefully raised the curtains to reveal the view of the sea from the inn where they will stay. “The sun shines brightly. Do you want to go for a swim?” he asked Naomi who is enjoying the soft bed the place offered. “Why do you ask? Do you want to see me in a bikini wear?” she teasingly asked back.
“Don’t you dare tease me. Sometimes, I can’t control myself” he answered with a playful smirk in his face. He jumped to the bed and laid beside his wife. He caressed her hair and kissed her lips. “Wear your bikinis then” he whispered. Naomi’s eyes were filled with confusions, “Do you think it is weird? I am pregnant, you know” she replied.
“No worries. I can be possessive, I can guard you outside” he said, making her amused. She got up and removed the dress she is wearing in front of him. His eyes roamed on her sexy pregnant body. Her red bikini she is wearing inside makes her body sizzling hot in JL’s eyes. JL unbuttoned his polo, leaving the black swimming trunks he is wearing.
He wore the camera straps in his neck and placed on his sunglasses. Naomi saw his well - built body teasing her. “Your scar is almost gone” she commented while touching his side abs. “You still remember that?” he asked. Naomi smiled, “I never forgot anything that concerned you” she answered. Their eyes focused on each other’s as they lean closer and closer to each other.
Their lips are about to unite when a barging sound interrupted them. They both looked at the tumbled figurine near the room’s window. “Meow” the ginger - colored cat noised. They both laughed; Naomi asked, “Oh right, how is Mango? The cat who ran through us when we are walking back home during the high school days?”. JL held her hand, “Unfortunately, the cat died because of old age, but it left kitties which Caleigh loved” he answered.
“Poor little thing. I haven’t had the chance to glance before it died” she sadly replied. “Forget about that. Let’s go swimming now” he said to change the mood. He held Naomi’s hand until they reached the warm salty water the sea contained. They played with water until they got tired. Suddenly, Naomi’s smile changed into a frown. JL noticed it and asked, “What’s with the long face?”.
She rolled her eyes and answered, “The girls are looking at you”. He pinched her cheek, “Can’t you be possessive for me too?” he jokingly asked. Naomi challenged, “Watch me”. She clung to JL’s body to cover his amusing abdominal muscles. “Love, can’t you feel our babies giving flutters your heart?” she asked with a cute and loud voice.
The girls who are watching them suddenly lost interest to JL. They whispered, “I bet he is married”. Naomi heard it and so she simply confirmed, “Too bad we booked our honeymoon late”. JL is laughing inside; she sounded so cute for him right now. She held her husband’s arm and pulled him back inside their inn. She glanced at the girls and waved them goodbye with the hand that contains their wedding ring.
“That was amazing” JL commended upon arriving inside their place. Naomi crossed her arms, “Why didn’t you say something?” she asked and is about to sulk. JL hugged her in her back and answered, “Sorry, I just want to see how you prove to others that we are already married”. Naomi asked again, “Did I looked bitchy right now?”. JL shook his head, “No, you sounded so cool s while ago”.
Amber went on duty in the hospital. She stayed up late at night just to get proper research of Naomi’s background. Every time she recalls the look of JL’s wedding ring, her jealousy gets more and more complex. She covered her face and sneaked to the OB’s office of records. She often saw Naomi going to the other branch of the hospital where she is working. She opened every drawer to spot the section of the patients named with letter “N”.
She was relieved when she found the papers containing Naomi’s medical transcripts. She quickly took a photo of it the moment she knew the comparisons between Naomi’s past and the transcript’s results. The record started from when Naomi is three and a half months pregnant. She took the risk of getting the transcripts all because of her obsession with JL.
She placed back the folder of Naomi’s medical records and went outside the OB’s office of records. She copied Luke’s number in the news and messaged him to his social media account. She stated, “I know where Naomi Nievez is”. She excitedly tapped on the sending button and placed an evil smirk in her face. She said in her mind, “You missed an opponent, Doc JL. If I can’t have you, then I will make sure that Naomi can’t be yours also”.
