TODD'S POV 
 "We didn't know the reason why she left you at the hospital and ran off, since then we couldn't get a trace of her, when she came around to register, she fell reluctant but a friend of hers, what's her name again..."
"Marie yes, she urged her on and she finally registered, she didn't show up for the required scan that were supposed to be done but surprisingly showed up on the delivery day, she delivered safely without any complications, we cleaned her up and went away to get some other things but on returning, we didn't see her, what we saw was a name beside you as you laid on the bed 'VANESSA' she named you"  Dr Miller poured out, I had to turn to see Vanessa's reaction
  she looked like she just got electrocuted cause she really was in shock, i would too if i was told the story of how I was born and it turned this way 
"Nessa, how are you holding up?" Came my question but she couldn't give a reply, rather she gave a little sob
"Come here" I gave her a little side hug 
"Urrrm Doc, could we take a pic of that? Would that be okay?" I asked Vanessa again, this time she replied with a nod  and the system was turned to my direction and i took a quick picture
"Thank you so much Doc, we'll keep in touch" I said to him as he wrote down his contact for me 
"And hey, say hello to your parents on my behalf would you?" Dr Miller said again which i gave a nod to, and we left his office 
Twenty minutes later, I found a motel where we could crash for the night, at least it looks more decent than the other one.
 Vanessa was silent throughout, even after we came in, she just went to take a shower and came back to lay on the bed 
"Nessa you're hungry, i could get you something" I offered but  she just replied with a  calm
"No, thanks I'm good" 
 Her phone rang the first time but she didn't pick up, the second time she did the same thing  but on the third ring, i asked if i  could take it for her  cause the person would definitely keep calling, she agreed to it surprisingly and on answering i saw it was Emily
"Hey  babe, how's the trip going?" Emily immediately spoke out once i answered it
"Hi Emily" O replied with my deep voice which I'm sure she was surprised to hear
"Hey Todd where's Vanessa and why are you with her phone"
"She's in a bad state right now  but we'll be heading out tomorrow, our jobs done here" I replied her in the hallway cause i didn't want Nessa to hear what i was saying and Emily answered with an Okay and hung up
"Caroline Carter was the name, how sure are you that it's the same Caroline from work ?"Emily asked Vanessa after she have told her all that went down 
"Well the picture was in the registration which Todd snapped, could you show her the picture" She said to me and i complied 
"That looked pretty convincing" Emily then said after she saw it
"I think i neexvto take my leave now, Logan's calling"  i said and stood up to leave
"I'll call you later Nessa"  i said hurriedly and left  before they could stop me 
VANESSA'S POV 
 "So what now?" Emily asked curiously
"I know for sure that we'll get intel about her from Mr Robert" I said
"You're sure you're okay?" 
"What the fuck Mily, why do you guys keep asking me that same question every goddamn time, do i look pitiful in you guys eyes?" I raged out angrily
"Jeez Nessa, calm down okay, was just checking up" She replied and i let out a breath
"Sorry i lost it, i really appreciate your concern, we'll have to get whatever we can on Mrs Caroline" I suggested, seconds later i heard my phone ring 
"Excuse me" I said to Emily before i answered the call
"Hey David" I responded to his greeting 
"Sorry i didn't call all this while" 
"Nah no problem, What's good" I said to him
"Could we meet up later today, if it's fine by you?"
"Sure why not, i got nothing on my schedule" I approved 
"Great, meet up at five, you like ice cream right?" He asked which came as a surprise
"Yes why?" 
"We'll meet up at the ice cream shop at             " he concluded and we said our goodbyes  and hung up 
"What did he talk about" Mily asked
"Just wanted to meet up no big deal" 
LATER THAT DAY
"Hi" I said as i took my seat 
"I ordered Ice cream,it would be here in a bit" He responded followed by an awkward tension
"So how was your Thanksgiving" David asked managing to break the silence
"It was quite delightful" I answered sarcastically  
"How was yours" I returned the question which he replied 'great' to 
"Oh i forgot to ask, how's your Mum after that major scenario" 
"She's surprisingly fine, didn't know she could hold it off like that, guess she's truly over him" 
"Look I'm sorry for what my Dad caused" I apologized but saw him let out a laugh
"You shouldn't be the one doing this, he caused everything and I'm surprised you're still calling him 'Dad' cause most people wouldn't" 
"Well David, I'm not most people, they've been there for me all through my life so a little setback  like this shouldn't make me hate them, yea I might have been pissed off but that's over now" I assured 
"Vanessa you're really something, you know that right?" he replied with a smile
"You mean that in a good or bad way" I asked 
"In the best way, you have a beautiful heart" He complimented 
"Go ma sseum nida" I replied in Korean but he looked slightly confused 
"That's 'Thank you' in Korean" I clarified 
"Ohhh" he replied and laughed
"I've learned a few things from Kim, that reminds me, my mum said she wanted meeting with you, i told her about you guys" I said referring to her and his mum
"And she wasn't mad? Normally she's supposed to be very mad at I and my mum cause we might be trying to destroy her family" 
"She was mad but not at you guys, she was mad at dad for not telling her sooner that he had a son outside and she said the least she could do was to meet you" I concluded 
"I was right, you're really something, and I've seen where you got that from" 
EMILY'S POV 
 "Hey Mr Smith" I said to him as I poked my head inside the front door 
"Emily, What brings you here, come in" He ushered and I gladly walked In
"Remember i told you last week that Vanessa wasn't feeling too well and she'll be skipping work" I said casually  cause he was always free around us
"Yes, wait don't tell me she won't be in work this week again" He asked looking a bit worried 
"No far from that, she's all good and right outside, just wanted her to come say hi" I told him and he ushered her in as well 
"Hi Sir" Nessa simply said
"How's your health, hope you're all good?" 
"As good as new" She replied and get didn't ask anything further 
"Could you girls leave now, i have some things to take care of" he tried dismissing us
"Yea we definitely would but could you help us with a tiny bit of information"  I asked
"Which is?"
"When next is the CEO  visiting?" I asked out of the blue which he stared at me weirdly for 
"The reason we asked is so we could prepare ourselves for the visit" Vanessa bud in and made it sound more convincing 
"Well there would be a Christmas party a week before Christmas, to enable us packed up for the holidays" he explained
"It's held every year at every department store branch, so she'll definitely show up here a week before Christmas, does that answers your question?" 
"Yes that really helped" I said 
"One more question please, where does she base permanently, like with her family" Vanessa asked
"That's a confidential question..."
"Please just name the city,  we won't bother you again" I joined in
"You girls are really disturbing, you know that right? "
"And we need to get off your neck, so just the name please" I said again 
"Fine, she stays at Seattle, now get the hell out of my office" He ordered us away and we scurried away 
"Thanks Mr Smith" we both chorused giggling like highschoolers.
