Althaea Cassidy's POV
A sounds which came from different bands including us. We were also invited by the manager of this restobar. We prepared ourselves and later, we will be the next who perform. It was only one song which we have been practiced for a whole week after work. We are busy but we have still made it. I'll be the one have chosen to lead a song of my bandmates because it was a kind of female opm-rock music.
Ginger said that she was relate on it. Here, we are starting to perform now. It's time to shine. Wooh.
Afterwards, we finished our song and all of us were taken a sit.
"Xav, what time is it?" Zen asked as he poured the beer on the glass.
"It's 11:00 PM, why?" Kuya Xavier replied.
"We need to go home now." Zen is referring the two of us. "We still have work tomorrow. It is only Wednesday not a Saturday. We need to sleep as possible." As he explained.
"All right. It's better that we should go home together but we would let the manager knows." Kuya Rayver stated.
"It's better trying to drink beer that tastes good, bez." Gin interrupted the conversation as offered me a wine but I refused.
I don't really like the taste of wine, it's so bitter.
"Hey, Gin don't even teach this girl of mine to drink a wine." Zen scolded my best friend. It made me to smile.
Until now, he is yet very protective about me even though we are not in a relationship. It hopes that my feelings for him will back same as before so that never been suffered like this anymore.
Momentarilly, Kuya Rayver thumbs up. It is said that we can leave now. I needed to take a rest too. My eyes want to fall me asleep. Kuya Rayver and Xavier have decided to take Gin to her home because she was a bit drunk compared to us.
I'm already going alone since I had my own car that Mom and Dad gave me on my birthday. Zen have waved me a goodbye before he ride on his motorcyle.
A new day. It was almost late when I came to work because the traffic is heavy. I sighed as stretching my arms before starting the unfinished tasks of checking the three chapters of the novel. Sometimes, it has forgotten me to look for which was tempting and enjoying to read the story. I was absolutely fascinated since beginning.
A few hours later, there's someone knocking on the door. It stunned me a little when Ma'am Apple, our executive editor and Jelyka who is also the one of the assistant editor came up. They are leaning to each other that seems wondering.
"Ma'am Serrano is searching for you, Ms. Muestra. She said that she has something important to say." Our executive editor told me and I agreed after.
It wondered me why our General Manager called me this time so I am trying to figure out what is wrong about my job.
I breathe before start knocking, "Come in!" She said.
I entered to her office in wonder. I didn't see any reason why she called me that way. My name is not written in the memo. "You may take a seat." I simply followed then she handed the envelop that furrowed me.
"What is this, Ma'am?" Asking her with astonishment.
"Your separation pay." She answered directly.
I didn't know what happened. It stared me to her in a confused look. "We need to fire you, Ms. Muestra."
My manager replied in a quick response. I could sense that has no hesitation to her face for terminating me abruptly. It is not indicated in the memo that they will fire me. If I violated the rules and regulations why they don't inform me about this recently so that I would be aware next time. "What violations did I violate, Ma'am? You didn't tell me about it. How come?" I said impatiently but in respect.
"We will sorry, Ms. Muestra. You don't have to know it." She turned around and continued typing to the computer. "Just take your separation and we don't have a problem about that."
"But, Ma'am?" As trying to ask them with my full of frustration in myself.
"You may now leave." She responded without looking at me.
I think I should comply to Department Labor and Employment (DOLE) for firing me in a just snap. Some employess get appeared and looked wondering in front of as I'm stepping towards my office.
Gin suddenly asked me in concern, "Althaea, what happened?" I showed to her the envelop that our manager gave to me.
She frowned. "It's impossible they terminated you for just like that!"
She said in a doubt while still staring to me. Some of the employees are interrogating me why I was terminated from my job. I just answered them directly that I didn't know. I went back to the workplace and saw Ma'am Apple and others were worrying about my termination.
They suggested that it should be reported to DOLE as I have commited any violation.
Afterwards, I have left the office sadly. Gin spotted me leaving this place so she hugged me very tight. "No matter what happens I'll always stay at your side, Althaea." My bestfriend said as we yet hugging to each other. "I'm sorry too if I don't think a way to help you about this."
I have made her to keep silence, "No, bez. Don't say that. It's not your fault, ok?"
"But…" I ceased her.
"Please stop crying and begging for an apology. I'd be the one probably who will find a solution.
She nodded. "I don't want to be a burden to you. Don't worry, I can do this." I said before I left my best friend there wiping her tears all over the face.
The next day, I tried to look for a partime job while still reporting to the Department of Labor about my unreasonable termination. It was lucky me when the manager in the bar gave me a job as partime singer. I didn't intend to say that to them, my band members because I don't want to be a burden on their lives especially with Troezen.
Unfortunately, I saw him standing in front of my apartment waiting for me perhaps. He noticed so his forehead furrowed.
"Where have you been?" As he asked curiously. "I am waiting for you here in an hour."
I really don't know what do to say if I will tell him about my job or not. My heart starts to beat fast because of the possible that Zen may say.
"At the bar, isn't?" I was startled to my position that almost can't move.
How did he know that I am working in the bar. I didn't tell anyone about this even to my best friend. I was speechless but it just staring to his eyes.
"I know it already, Althaea. You don't have to explain it anymore. I understand." As he touched my shoulders and looking to my eyes.
"Zen…." As I continues to mutter any word. "Ginger tell me the reason why." He added.
I am not mad to my best friend. I understand her that she is just concerned at me.
"Why didn't tell me right away so I can help you?" He asked.
"I won't to be a burden." As my voice cracking.
"No. It's not like that. Althaea, can you please low your pride for a moment?" He said in annoyance. "You are terminated and needed to find a new job. Why you didn't tell me about it? I can help you…"
"I won't to be a burden to you all." I repeated. "I won't disturb your busy life. I can manage myself."
He simply hugged me very tight to comfort me after all.
It was 7:00 AM in the morning when I woke up. I stopped for a moment when I smell something good so my feet pushed me towards the kitchen and found out that Zen is currently cooking for our breakfast.
"Good morning." As he greets, putting a dishes and fried rice in the table. I greeted him back and we finally eaten the food that he prepared.
After breakfast, we decided to watch a movie together when there's suddenly an anybody outside of my apartment.
"I must be the one who will open it. You just stay there and enjoying watching." As I said and he nodded as the respond. As it opening the door, I was stunned who someone is standing in front of me now with a cold stare.
